  • @williamjamesclarable

    Chris Waddle is still one of my favourite players to watch live. He was apparently past his best when he joined Wednesday and then was one of the best players in the league that year. Would literally walk past players, let them get up, then walk past them again... without touching the ball.

    Waddle, Beardsley, Gazza - but John Barnes was the most skilful of the lot, Gary........

    • @Wally-H
      @Wally-H 6 років тому +1

      Maybe, but he failed to show it in 90% of the England matches he played. You live and die by what you do on the pitch in big games and Barnes consistently failed to deliver when it mattered

    • @rbhe8101
      @rbhe8101 6 років тому +2

      Kevin Marshall Not to take anything away from John Barnes, who was absolutely phenomenal and is one of the most likable men in football, but Lineker is possibly a better judge as he was there and trained with them every day? At that particular tournament, Gazza sparkled and John Barnes wasn’t quite at his level.

    • @lj2348

      Captain Rhodes ,
      And that ladies and gentlemen is exactly why England don't succeed as a national team. Let's cross it in the box and more shooting practice ... smh

    • @alexwebley90
      @alexwebley90 6 років тому +1

      Junior Dinero No, the reason we don't succeed as a national team is because we don't play to our strengths. We should be direct and physical but instead we try and play like teams full of technically gifted players like Spain.
