  • In this video I'll show how to strengthen feet , articulate metatarsals, improve arches and instep.
    By activating your arches, strengthening your insight and keeping the right alignment of the toes, you can avoid the development of painful bunions which is the the prominent bump right next to the big toe. Bunions can make feet unstable in balancing poses both on flat or demi-pointe.
    How to pointe your feet with the right alignment is very important to learn, in order to not sickle or wing it too much. Every leg line has to finish with a long foot line. The foot also needs a good articulation and strength in order to improve pointe work and above all take off and landing of jumps.
    Let’s get started! Have Fun!

    +Lazy Dancer Tips I wonder if you might be able to do a full barre? It's a different kind of video as you are doing at the moment, but I am really interested in a barre with your very own combinations. Since you do so many helping videos about tips, maybe you like to do a ballet class? :)

    Amazed you didn't stub your toe at the end on a chair leg. Haha. These videos are awesome. I'm an extremely out of shape 54 year old who really wanted to do ballet as a little girl, but my parents split up and neither could afford to send me to classes. I finally decided I can do anything at any age and am very stiff in all joints but stretching has helped. I searched UA-cam to find your channel. You make everything look so simple ! Would be really nice to see you do a glossary of ballet terms demonstrating each position with arms, feet, and all the most common moves you use in each video. Eg plie, ronde, tendu and more etc.

      Well Said Valerie and good on you for tackling ballet now! Proud of you! Yes i'm working on the glossary of ballet, it might take a while but it's already work in progress! :D Ciao Alessia :)

    Thanks so much for all of your tips and workouts! So they are so helpful and enjoyable! I have a big problem with ankle stability, I have flexible feet, but I have a lot of difficulty balancing on one foot on releve for turns and such, and my feet are often sickled. Would this video help me with this, or are there any other excersices/videos you'd reccomend. Thanks!

    Hi! I kinda (really) wanna be a figure skater, but I am scared of breaking all my bones, I just found your channel and have been doing the Barre workouts (?) as off-ice training, could you recommend something to stop being afraid of jumping and that kind of stuff? thank you!

    • @lazydancertips
      @lazydancertips  7 років тому

      Hi K, well done for working so hard with your training! Unfortunately i"m the worst person to ask about Ice skating work, I cannot keep two feet straight on ice and i wouldn't know where to start giving you advices on jumps. There is although a beautiful figure skater here on youtube Sofie +SofaBar ua-cam.com/users/Sofabar , I'm sure she can give you all the advices you need!
      Best of luck with your training! Ciao Alessia

    I'd love a slow, up close breakdown of each exercise before going into them. Mostly because I'm interested in watching the form closely in order to replicate it. Thanks!

    I have a question, my bottom arches have been hurting after balancing in a position on demi point. Is it because i am being overworked? If so do i need to strengthen my inner, and lower arch? Last year i dances twice a week, and now i am dancing 4 times a week. So is it overworked? Or do i have a type of issue?

    • @lazydancertips
      @lazydancertips  8 років тому

      Hello Cambria, Thank you for your question! There are few factors you should look into. First of all where about does it hurt? is it only after balancing or during certain movements/jumps or even just standing? If you find that the pain goes from your big toe, under your arch, right up to ankle it might be your achilles. if so you need to check alignment of the foot and knee, as you don't want the pain to become a serious tendinitis. Please check with your teacher and get a physiotherapist or an osteopath to have a look at you. When we start working and exercising more frequently we obviously do put more strain onto our body. If we feel it's not a "good pain" we should get it checked out before it becomes something harmful. Without seeing you it's hard to judge where the problem comes from. For now be careful and keep analysing where and when it hurts, the more you get to know your body the better you'll look after it. Please talk to your teacher about it! Let me know what they say , i'll be more than happy to address few exercises for you when we know the verdict, ok? I'll be waiting on news! Ciao Alessia

      Oh I see! It is a horrible curse and i'm really sorry you have to go through all this. Glad you've been looked after tho! A couple of dear friends of mine had the same problem and decide to have surgery. Keep your body active and follow the nutritionist advices. I'll try to help you and keep you positive the best way I can! I promise!

    • @lazydancertips
      @lazydancertips  7 років тому

      Always stay positive! Few selected fruits are better than none, almonds and olive oil are fantastic for the skin, carbs are useless and make you feel bloated! You will be fine, don't let this drag you down! You have people looking after you and that support you. And i'll keep you busy dancing! Big hug!
