Have been running our Starlink in an off grid location for about a week now. Power consumption varies. Seems to cruise at about 38 watts, spikes to 55 watts occasionally, jumped as high as 111 watts during boot up. But overall power usage is very good.
Hi, I am a Starlink user in Germany since August 2021. So far, I basically had next to no issues with the connectivity. Wind (up to 80kph gusts) has been no issue for me. Same goes for snow and rain. Except during serious downpours. Very happy with my decision.
Excellent review. I live in northeast AZ, and I've had Startlink for the past 10 months and it has performed extremely well with results similar to your report. Like most people who don't have fiber/cable to the house, the alternative (cellular) had very limited capacity and landline copper wire DSL is useless. The odds fiber will get to my location in the future are very low. There is cable/fiber from Sparklight/Cable One approximately 3 mile away but they have no plans to extend to my neighborhood for obvious reasons. Starlink is a definite "game changer" for us.
@J K Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. Great to hear that you're doing well with you Starlink service out there in AZ. We'll be in Southwest AZ in a few weeks. ✌🏻
@@SwayPandaTV I have not had any problems. The dish is mounted on my roof, on the south facing side. Of course, the dish is about 1 foot above the roof. Summer temperatures of 95 degrees F. @@EddieAtLarge southwest az must not have service. They haven't emailed me to send me my Starlink in over 6 months. what a joke. Says I'll get an email when it's available in sw az. nothing
@Dale Hooper They did email us when ours became available. We are currently in Quartzsite, AZ and there is an open cell for service 17 miles from our current location. We can hook in, but, it is barely usable. The cell that is only 5 miles from us is at capacity and we haven’t been able to get in. We just left the Tucson area where we were able to get into a cell 5 miles away and it worked pretty well with only a few seconds of buffering every hour or so. So, service is available in AZ, although, it is still sparse.
I completely agree that this is not only the future of internet for travelers but possibly everybody. When I 1st heard about Starlink I thought it was going to change everything for large ships, private sail boats and even commercial air travel.
@2 Cents Stay tuned, we're just now getting out on the road. Currently in Tucson, AZ. We are finding that Starlink is still very limited out here. We suspect that it should get better the further North we travel as that is where the beta testing began, however, can't say for sure just yet. Congrats on the leap to Full Time RVing! It's been over 2 years for us now and we absolutely love it!
I am in Los Angeles, where we have spectrum Internet service and set the dish up a few days ago and I have to be honest it's more reliable than spectrum was and I'm getting better more consistent speeds. I could not be happier with this thing.
@@dennisfahlstrom2515 That is still the case. They said on their website what the max users per square mile is and the numbers were pretty low. Starlink is not intended to replace traditional internet services providers in urban areas. Performance with Starlink is not going to be able to match that of a proper wired internet service. They have publicly stated that. The idea of Starlink is to provide service where no other service options exist.
We got our hardware Monday, I set it up temporarily yesterday. Been too busy enjoying awesome internet to finish. Could not be simpler. On the ground in the yard in a clear spot , it came on moved around then headed for a northern facing attitude. In North Florida the dish seeks North at about a 35 degree

While I'm not in the market for this product, I am a Tesla owner and shareholder and didn't fully understand StarLink. Your video was an excellent primer for folks like me. Thank you.
Great video! I finally have the confirmation my Starlink kit is on the way. Where I live in Florida I'm only getting 4.28 Mbps down and 0.45 Mbps upload with my current service. I can't wait to join the club!

@Jeremy Cooke Hi Jeremy! Glad you enjoyed. We are just now getting on the road. Finding that service is still very limited. Stay tuned for more updates!
I'm getting mine in about a week and can't wait! I work away from home and am living in our fifth wheel. I'm staying at a KOA RV park and it's up and down at best and terrible during the summer when the place is packed. So I'm really excited. Been waiting a year!
I think that quite a few people that have acquired Starlink in more densely populated areas have somewhat of a warped evaluation of Starlink. While a large swath of users have access to fiber or cable exceeding 50+mbps upload speeds (which would be common for many UA-cam content creators) the vast majority of all land areas are struggling with
@Winter Coder Agreed! We couldn't be happier with the service so far. Even if we get out on the road and are only getting 50mbps down in some places, we'll still be thrilled. Great to hear that your dish is on the way! Congrats!
I live in the mountain in the middle of nowhere. We used to have 14mbps and now we have an average of 190mbps with Starlink, the highest I've seen in 300mbps.
@@alanrickett2537 I likely will... but not for a few weeks. My installation requires the 150ft extension ... which apparently is backordered until 2nd week in Feb.
@MoreMartin Awesome! Thank you! I read that some of the fastest recorded download speeds have been recorded over there. Curious as to what you are seeing? Also, have you looked at the satellite map for coverage in Norway? Currently it doesn’t show any ground stations or cells in Norway and no satellites overhead which means there shouldn’t be any service there at this time.
@@EddieAtLarge Hello Ed, Thank you for answering. At the moment I measure between 200 and 300 Mbps download speeds. I got the round dish, latest edition. Yes, you are right about Norway. At the moment there are no coverage. However Starlink plan to open up soon. At-lest in the southern part of the country. Keep up the good work! Your videos are great. Strait to the point, as we like it!
For some information "Homie At Large" is using the newly edition of starlink, the square version. (the pro version), as a user of the standard starlink dish the MBPS is ranged from 50 - 150 upon average.
@SnowMan101 All info and all speed tests where done using our Version 2 square dish. This is not from the new “Premium” dish if that’s what you mean by “the pro version”. We typically are getting over 200 Mbps on our V2 dish.
Hi Ed and Ann! This is really great info! Thank you very much for sharing this! Though still in the development phase, this is looking to be a great system! Whew…it is going to transform the RVTrader world! We are in South Padre now getting the solar install. Yes…our long haired German shepherd has found the stickers! Safe travels!
@ campingalan Hey Alan! We are loving Starlink so far. Pretty amazing technology. Sorry to hear about the stickers. Those little bastards are painful. Glad to hear you made it to South Padre safe and sound though and good luck with the solar install! Safe & happy travels to you as well
You know, I was surprised at the very low upload speeds. I wonder if they will ever get better? But it still gives people internet and tv in very remote places. You just have to have some sort of power for it. Thanks, Tom.
@Okie-Tom Even though upload isn't blazing fast, we're stoked to have this. Way better than anything we've had previously. I do think they'll improve. Starlink even claims they will as they get the gen 2 satellites in orbit and improve other software and tech on their end. We'll be using an inverter along with 300 AH of Lithium Batteries + 600 Watts of solar to keep her powered up while out boondocking.
@@KrustyKlown , I agree that most are like that. My old dsl was like that. My new fiber optic is around 100 mbps up and down. Sometimes a little slower at peak times. I bet Starlink improves that greatly in the future! It’s unbelievable it all works as good as it does. All those satellites all over the sky, and ground stations. It is mind boggling! Take care, Tom
I'm sittin over here happy when I see at least 3mbps upload speed.. I'd be floggin thrilled to have 40 to 50. If you're somewhere that you think 50mbps is a low upload speed.. starlink is probably just not for you lol.
Your upload average is twice the speed of my available Comcast upload speed of 12 to 14... :/ I'm glad my email arrived from starlink Friday. I placed my full order and I'm just stoked to see how it does after a 1 year 2 month wait on the list.
@Kendall Frazier Hi Kendall. Curious as to where you did this and the other circumstances involved. Was this on a lake or out at sea? How far did you travel with it on the boat? Were you close to your service address?
@@EddieAtLarge It was at Lake Powell. Our service address is set to Antelope Point Marina. We got service up to 12 miles away and never lost it while underway. 2 weeks ago service was extended to the entire lake so I'm excited to get service as far up as Escalante (about 80 miles). We don't have cell service at the lake starlink is a real life saver.
@Kendall Frazier That’s awesome! We stayed at Lone Rock beach last year and loved the area and Lake Powell. Wondering how you found out that they extended service to the entire lake? Are you just playing with the service address on the map in your account? We are currently in Quartzsite AZ and been having a hard time getting into a cell. Everything is at capacity. Fortunately, we did just get into one last night that’s only 4 miles away.
I would think Starlink would be a must if you are living full time on the road. If the cost is a bit too much for you then you could probably get rid of your cell phone plan and use something like magicjack via the Starlink. Your cell phone would still be usable for 911 emergency calls. You would just need to set up the starlink for normal calls. Personally, I only live out of my van for maybe 10 days at a time on road trips, so I just go without internet usage completely.
You are correct, It is a must for us! We use Starlink all the time when we boondock in places with no cell service at all. It’s easy to set up your phone to make calls via “Wi-Fi calling”. You can then add an emergency address in the phone settings to be used for 911 calls. We still have one phone on Verizon as it seems to be the most reliable network for us when we’re away from the RV. The other phone is on the Visible phone service and is only $30 per month.
Great video. I have been looking into getting Starlink and been trying to learn about it. There is a restriction that you did not mention. Starlink dont allow peer to peer, example if you have a server at a remote location or in my case, as a ham radio operator I have a radio setup at home that is capable of me operating it from remote. Starlink has restrictions on that which kind of suck for me as I am now just sharing a hotspot from my phone and dont get those speeds and low ping time. By the way, not all cell phones have restrictions. I have unlimited and it also includes my data sharing. It only caps at 100Gb per month if I go abroad to certain countries.
Thanks Magnus. I did not know about the issues with peer to peer as we don't use anything that requires it. Hopefully they will fix this in the future.
I am really impressed by the numbers. I use to install Satellite internet. Horrible ping (Bad for gaming) and clouds distributed the signal almost abruptly. I remember having to go back for servicing and finding out they ran out of data. Going back messed up our numbers as we need to meet certain quota which dinged techs money 😡
Fun fact about mounting it permanently. If you mount it in "stow mode" so that the dish is facing sideways, you can drive with it on the roof. The wind will not push against it at all plus it can handle higher wins then you should be driving anyway :-) just remember to put it in stow mode before you leave your location
@@EddieAtLarge well it's not on their app. I am also a ham radio operator so deal with antennas all the time, this is one of those "common sense" things that we can all miss if we don't think about it. The dish can withstand over 100 mile an hour winds which means by definition a can with stand you driving down the freeway at 65, but by placing it in stow mode it puts the dish virtually straight up and down and if you're facing it so that it sideways against the wind it gives it the smallest profile.
@AIG Trader OK. Thought maybe there was something official out there. I can understand your logic, however, can't take that chance with ours unless Starlink actually had something in writing (and I'd probably shear it off as soon as we go under the first overpass 😆). I saw a few things on Reddit and other websites stating that people have tested it with a 175 mph leaf blower. Not sure if that would be considered a real world test? Another website stated that it's been tested by Starlink up to 75 mph. Couldn't find anything official from Starlink though.
I am in central AZ and ordered my Starlink in June 2021 after learning about it from a guy who lives about 20 miles away from me and had it about a month at the time. Originally my account said I was scheduled to get it about the end of 2021. Now it says mid 2022. That'll be a year after ordering it. I was excited at first but have to say, the excitement fades when you have to wait months or possibly a year...
@@EddieAtLarge It's my only other option. I've got att now at an average of 20mbps. I ordered in April delivery was supposed to be October and that was pushed to December now it just says early to mid 2022.
@Mike Walters Hey Mike! We travel & live full-time in our RV. We originally had signed up with our mail service address which we use for domicile since we travel full-time. Starlink informed us that our ship date was moved back to mid 2022. We were staying down in Corpus Christi Texas and decided to try to use the address of the RV park and that did the trick. We had it shipped right there to the park. I will say, we got pretty lucky!
amazing that you are getting good service in port aransas. We have family in the area that have been waiting for their starlink and were told they wouldn't have service in that area until close to the end of the year. Sounds like getting the equipment is the hard part. These are great results for satellite and I can onl;y imagine how much better they will be once the full compliment of satellites are in orbit.
@Mikes Tek Yes, there is a small pocket of service on Mustang Island and over in Aransas Pass. I know that if you try to order equipment using a Port Aransas address, it now says "Starlink expects to expand service in your area by late 2022". It seems they just don't have enough satellites up yet to be able to handle the demand. Hoping they get Starship online to put up the reported capability of 400 satellites at once.
Can I drill a hole through the lower part of the dishy v2 mount so I can run a lag screw through the external pipe and the Starlink mount to keep it secure in a windy area??
@liadb You won't be able to do that. The USB C plugs into the Starlink pole at the bottom through a slot in the pole. If you get the pipe adapter, you could drill through the your pipe (not supplied by Starlink) just below where the Starlink pole mounts via the adapter. The pipe adapter is $35 in the Starlink shop on their website. Hope that helps!
Not seeing any description for this video, was looking for that link to the map. Not sure how you got yours so quickly! When I paid my deposit their prediction was for late summer, so they are five months past predicted at this point, guess I've been waiting nearly a year at this point, not a word from them. Looks like their only uplink in Michigan is only about 60-70 miles away from what I could see via the video. I don't even see a way to contact them.
@HillOrStream Here is the link: satellitemap.space I've been hearing the same from many other viewers. We just got really lucky that they were shipping to the area that we changed our address to. I checked recently and they now say mid 2022 for our area. I've also heard that even if you try to contact them, they don't respond regarding order status. To send them a message: Go to your account on Starlink.com, then to Support. Type "Call Support" in the search bar. You'll see this on the right side "No related topics could be found. Please try another search or click here to contact support." Click on the "click here" link. This will redirect you to a page where you can send a message to Starlink Support to ask about the status.
@Tom Spurlock Hey Tom! I just tested it out with my iPhone and walked 200' away, still had 2 bars of WiFi and was able to stream UA-cam video. The Starlink router works very well!
I'm only on day 2 with my starlink and I gotta say, I'm impressed! I'm waiting on the ethernet adapter so at the moment so my speed tests are running through an old wifiethernet adapter I had to relay from the starlink router, but it still works really well despite that! About a 40mS ping, 6-9 MBytes/sec downlink and 1-2 MBytes/sec uplink (60-90 MBits / 10-20 Mbits). But I'm sure the downlink is being restricted by my old wifi relay so once I get the adapter those numbers should improve. I played with it for a day on my deck with only half the sky while getting the home networking integrated. That was fun :-). It got quite a few dropouts. Once I got the dish up onto my roof, though, with the whole sky available, it became solid as a rock. Mine burns 35-40W or so operating. Not bad considering that its talking to satellites!
Congrats! We're still loving ours as well. Wondering why you don't just use the Starlink router to connect all your devices? Unless some don't have wireless I guess? You should be getting much higher speeds on both down and up. We've been all over and the lowest we've had were 50 Mbps down. Let us know how it does for you moving forward. 👍🏻
@@EddieAtLargeThere are two basic reasons. First, even fast wifi bogs down when you have dozens of devices hanging off of one router (even with MIMO). Bandwidth goes to pot, basically. And second, because I firewall major subsystems in the house off from each other. If a hacker happens to be able to break into the wifi network for our phones and pads, I don't want that person to have direct access to all the IOT stuff. And I don't want the IOT stuff to be able to phone home (so to speak, i.e. talk to outside entities without my permission). So basically I have the internet to come into a central server and then fan everything out from that central server, all firewalled off from each other and on their own networks: * Wired PCs and servers * Home automation and security system devices, including security cameras that record 24x7. These are a combination of hardwired and on their own dedicated 2 GHz wifi network (single channel). * Wall-mounted pads which burn significant bandwidth updating stills taken from the security system every 10 seconds. They get their own dedicated 2 GHz wifi network, again single-channel. * And finally, the highs-peed wifi for people, Apple TV, etc. Max bandwidth and features. So that's quite a bit of stuff. I want the high-speed wifi to be as clean and uncluttered as possible so users get fast streaming speeds. And I want everything firewalled. Nothing goes between networks or in or out of the internet without going through the central server first. So my broadband internet has to come into the central server and not be directly used by people. Hence the need for hardwired ethernet for that. My situation isn't entirely unique, but I expect most people just install the included wifi router and call it a day.... which is also why so many people's home automation systems are so easily hacked :-).
@@EddieAtLarge The adapter came pretty quickly. I've been getting bursts of around 150 MBits (15 MBytes/sec), and averages more around 80 MBits (8 MBytes/sec) downloading. In the up-direction it hasn't changed, it's still roughly 10-20 MBits (1-2 MBytes/sec). I also got the appropriate mounting kit for the roof and that's all good.... just got a bit of cable cleanup left to do. The service has been very reliable. I do have a very clear view of nearly the entire sky from my roof... no real obstructions to worry about.
Great for you but how did you get it? I put my deposit up in March 2021 and nothing. I also have only Visable and it is sketchy as to service. Starlink should prioritize rural areas that have no real alternatives.
@Ira Schoppa We got really lucky. We changed our address to a rural area outside of Corpus Christi and it just so happens to be an area they were shipping to.
Just got mine ! Monday afternoon , Tuesday spent like twenty minutes temporarily setting it up. Turned on the system , the dish at ground level in North Florida aimed itself North. Been enjoying awesome internet since.
@Ryan Collins My advice would be to hold tight. If you pull your preorder and change your mind, you’ll be at the back of the line again. We got really lucky to get ours when we changed our address to this location and they just happened to be shipped to this area at this time. If I go to put in this same address now, it tells me that it won’t be available until mid 2022. They are sending more satellites up all the time now and believe me, this service is worth the wait.
@Israel Anderson It has worked well for us in some locations (mostly metropoliton areas), however, many others it has not. I will say, for the low cost of the service, it was worth keeping to supplement our regular Verizon service.
@Taylor Nagengast Congratulations! Haven't had much experience with trees yet. There is a visibility tool in the Starlink app that you can use to scan the sky from your install location to see if the trees will interfere.
@Jeremiah Rhodes We ordered on August 1st 2021. Got very lucky to be in an area where they were shipping to when we recently changed our service address...
Great info, I would like to test my system but it has not arrived I have been on the waiting list since March 2021. would really like to talk to a customer service rep.
@John Turner Thanks John. Wish I could help. Only way I know to contact then is by sending a message through the Starlink website. Have you tried that? Unfortunately, I don’t think they can or will do anything for you as I’ve heard of many people who are in the same boat. We got really lucky when we changed our address and it was available for this location.
I live where no cable services has touched (except one but they ended their services to my knowledge), and getting good internet is difficult down here. We normally rely on cellular or my great grandparents hughesnet wifi. Which hughesnet is slowed down after 50gB (gigabytes) of data usage and then my Verizon hotspot is slowed down after 100gB of data usage. I normally require a fast connection, low ping and unlimited internet because I like to play video games and such but that doesn't work out with slow wifi and high ping. My parents haven't gotten Starlink yet, but they may once they're done remodeling the house. Really looking forward to it!
@BnDLett You may want to talk them into signing up to get on the waiting list. It's only a $99 deposit and a lot of people have been waiting for over a year, so, if you're thinking the remodel will be done within the year, now might be the time! You can always get a refund for the deposit if they change their mind.
Just got my confirmation today, to order. Can you tell me what your total bill is each month. They say $99 a month, but being a SBC customer there are local taxes, state taxes, taxes for your house one for the dog, two for the kids. By the time we get the bill that $75.00 a month bill is about $150.00. I have never wanted a company to go out of business so bad.
@Trey D Congrats!! Believe it or not, we pay a flat $99 service fee (in Texas) and nothing more. I think Canadians pay a little more for whatever reason. I believe this should be the same across the US.
@@EddieAtLarge Thanks for the quick reply, I'm in the DFW area. I'm going to keep up with y'all, curious about how well this works in a trailer. We have a trailer as well, not as fortunate as you in traveling, but I hope to be able to throw it onboard when we get away. Thanks again, Trey.
We got lucky. We are mobile and were spending 3 months at an RV Park near Corpus Christi, TX, so, we decided to change our service address to the RV Park. A few weeks later, we got a notice that the dish was ready to ship to that new address. Prior to that, we were also on the waiting list.
Hi Gerry, I don’t believe that would make much difference as the OTA speed of the iPhone to router via Wi-Fi is over 800 Mbps, so, it should not be bottlenecked by that connection. I’ve heard from some other people who have had speeds up to 500 to 600 Mbps with their Starlink. I believe the speeds we are seeing are much more common though.
@Trowland Adventures Our departure has been delayed. We are leaving on Monday. I did test moving it in the area here though with limited success. Found some interesting things when we did that and will be posting another video hopefully this weekend.
We ordered our Starlink on March 23rd, 2021 and we are STILL waiting. There is a ground station less than 50 miles away. It used to say "End of 2021" for delivery, now it says "Mid 2022". I so can't wait for it to come.
Very excited to get my V2 dish - expected delivery is this Thursday ! I wish the ethernet adaptor came with the router! I have an order for several of the accessories ( including the Ethernet adapter ) - estimated ship date is March 15th-21st.
@Gene Eddleman Thank you, glad you enjoyed ! Yes, we were in Port A. I shot the monologue over in Aransas Pass along the channel. All speed tests and Starlink usage was from Port Aransas. I take it you’ve visited?
@@EddieAtLarge we lived in one of the RV parks in Aransas Pass around 2010, 2011. I had a sign shop and small engine repair. I really thought it looked familiar. And thanks again for the great information. I hope everything's back to normal after the hurricane a couple of years ago?
@gene eddleman Awesome! We love the area and have spent a lot of time there. Yep, everything is back to normal for the most part, just a few buildings left where they are still working on repairing/renovating. The only disappointing thing to us is that tons of new condos are going up south of Port A at a place called Cinnamon Shores. They are nicely built, but, that tiny town is going to be overrun. Investors & builders have also been buying up a lot of the old unique restaurants in town (like Bernie's, Giggity's & The Back Porch) and are tearing them down to build condos. Really kind of sad. @Sean Moon Have not heard of this. I'll pin your comment to the top so hopefully someone who knows will see and reply. Have you tried factory resetting the dish?
Which one do you have? I have a dishy 2.0 and you can reset that by plugging it in and unplugging it five times fast, I recommend plugging it into a switch or something because you can flip the switch faster lol
@Jason Sage No 3rd video yet. That was one of the 1st videos that I had uploaded and then deleted, so, it shows up in the video count for some reason. Will post 3rd video later this week.
@Mohammed Albayati I believe you should be able to. You would need to purchase the ethernet adapter to connect to the Starlink router with your switch hub. From what I read about it, you may be better off using Access Points instead of Routers. www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/le6srf/starlink_to_switch_then_router/

So, service is available in AZ, although, it is still sparse.
I completely agree that this is not only the future of internet for travelers but possibly everybody. When I 1st heard about Starlink I thought it was going to change everything for large ships, private sail boats and even commercial air travel.
Agreed.

This is the info that I wanted. My wife and I will definitely be signing up soon. We're making the leap to full time RVing later this month.
Signed up in February 2021, just received my shipping notice
Congrats!
I am in Los Angeles, where we have spectrum Internet service and set the dish up a few days ago and I have to be honest it's more reliable than spectrum was and I'm getting better more consistent speeds. I could not be happier with this thing.
@AIG Trader Awesome! Our service is still going strong here as well.
I thought Starlink was going to primarily target rural areas. It seems that is not the case any longer.
@@dennisfahlstrom2515 I don't know that one user in Los Angeles would indicate that's the case
Best review for StarLink I've seen. The "pro" reviews didn't tell me the stuff i wanted to know. Good stuff.
Thank you very much! Glad it was helpful.
I'm in central Fl Polk County and Dishey has the same orientation as yours.
Hi Ed, thanks for the info. I did order it and can't wait. I use about 1500 gb a month and with a Visible hotspot link Marc had and a Sprint/T-Mobile hotspot unlimited. So things will improve a lot I see. Don
@Cowboy Biker Adventures Wow! That’s a ton of data! Yes, you’re gonna love it!
1.5 Terabytes per month!? Hey don't hold yourself back
this is great! right now, I'm lucky to get 5mbps on any given day. signed up for starling several months ago, so I'm just waiting for their equipment.
You will be very very happy
I have .5 mbps and ordered the other day
Good luck guys, we ordered ours last February, still waiting.
@@andrewhamop6665 I can tell you the production has ramped up significantly so I expect the backlog to be taken care of pretty soon
Great video. NC here. Ordered Feb 2021. Received confirmation this month for dish shipment. Feb 2022. 12 months.
@Grey Bar0n Thank you and congratulations on your new dish!
I have the last version of the round dish and it works perfectly in high winds
@Saittech Good to hear! I'll make a note to bring that up in one of our upcoming videos. Thanks for letting us know.
Received ours end of October, last of the round dish production I think... it has survived 80-100 mph gusts in windy Eastern Colorado...
👏🏼 what a great and thorough review! Excellent video for sure.
Very useful information, thanks!
While I'm not in the market for this product, I am a Tesla owner and shareholder and didn't fully understand StarLink. Your video was an excellent primer for folks like me. Thank you.
@Thomas Jacques Nice to hear Thomas! Thanks for taking the time to let us know.
Great video! Lots of detailed information and very structured. Nicely done, thanks!
@Adam Eire Thanks Adam! Glad you enjoyed!
More power to TONY STARK. More power to STARLINK. CANT WAIT TO GET MINE.
Fantastic!
Thank you for making.
Go Starlink!
Thank you for the update and information.
Great. I'm waiting to get mine.
I've heard great things..

@rjb Awesome! Congrats. You will love it!
Excellent information and video, greatly appreciate it and for sure a new sub here. Happy travels.
Thanks! Glad to have you aboard. Cheers!
Congrats!

@Hodl Mama You are very welcome! Curious as to why you need 4 Visible phones?
Thanks for sharing! Great video. I got my dish in Germany, a bit south of Berlin, and it works perfect. I hope to travel with it to Norway soon.
@MoreMartin Great to hear that you are getting fast speeds as well. Thanks for all the kind words and compliments!
We used to have Viasat! 682ms ping delay last time I checked before we got Spectrum fiber internet in my area.
Wow! Big difference between that and Starlink. Lower orbit apparently makes the difference.

On your cell mapper all go to settings and put your address it, then it will show you whucb satellites are connected at your location
@Joe Long Just tried it Joe. That is awesome. I'll put that in an upcoming video and give you props. Thank you!
yes you can now have starlink conection in movement ,the satelite roaming is enabled right now

Seems Upload speeds are always 1/10 of Download speeds, regardless .. whether using Sat, Cable, DSL, etc...
Waiting for this in Alaska. At least my part. Thanks for the review.
I'm in Frelsburg, TX, and been on the list since Feb...since you got yours maybe that is an indicator that mine might come in soon!
@Robert P Here's hoping! 🙏
Your upload average is twice the speed of my available Comcast upload speed of 12 to 14... :/
I'm glad my email arrived from starlink Friday. I placed my full order and I'm just stoked to see how it does after a 1 year 2 month wait on the list.
Awesome, congrats! You’re gonna love it.
We put starling on a boat and the service was flawless while under way at 30 mph with a changing heading.
Got mine a week ago in central Fl. 150 mbps.Gonna hook up the ring cameras this week.
@Joseph Imbrogno Congrats! 👍🏻
That wasn’t low orbit satellite internet!!
Fun fact about mounting it permanently. If you mount it in "stow mode" so that the dish is facing sideways, you can drive with it on the roof. The wind will not push against it at all plus it can handle higher wins then you should be driving anyway :-) just remember to put it in stow mode before you leave your location
@AIG Trader Wow, that's interesting. Curious where you saw this info? I couldn't find it anywhere on Starlink's website or app.
@@EddieAtLarge it has been tested in excess of 50 pounds but I don't know what that equates to when it comes to wind
@racsyr Your disappointment is understandable. You will be happy though once it finally comes through.
I'm still waiting on mine. My delivery date was pushed back from December to mid 2022.
@tyler seymour Been hearing that a lot. It's worth the wait though.
@@EddieAtLarge It's my only other option. I've got att now at an average of 20mbps. I ordered in April delivery was supposed to be October and that was pushed to December now it just says early to mid 2022.

Can you explain how you were able to sign-up with a RV, or did you use you home address and just take it with you?
I bought the starlink for rv in June 2023 and not sure if the 30amp rv hookup will support. Thoughts?
30 Amp will be fine as Starlink only uses about 120 watts at startup and about 65 watts during normal use.
UGH... So jealous. Living the dream my friend. Congrats on achieving this in life. Lol.
@Joseph Lees 🤗 Thanks! Yes, life is good!
Nice 👍. Love from Pakistan 😘😘😘
Wahoo mine’s coming in the next two weeks. 😁. I see you have the new dish design. 👍
@Paul Shannon Sweet! Congrats!! 👏👏👏
Thanks for the review, mine is on order. Considering your basement location for the router, how far does the hotspot WiFi work from the RV? 20'? 50'?
@Tom Spurlock Hey Tom! I just tested it out with my iPhone and walked 200' away, still had 2 bars of WiFi and was able to stream UA-cam video. The Starlink router works very well!
Great Q&A on the details.
Very thorough.

So basically I have the internet to come into a central server and then fan everything out from that central server, all firewalled off from each other and on their own networks:
* Wired PCs and servers
* Home automation and security system devices, including security cameras that record 24x7.
@@junkerzn7312 Wow, that is a lot of stuff on your network. Thanks for the info. Curious to know if the speeds improve when you get the adapter...
Which jackery device did you get for powering starling?
The Explorer 240
Looks like you might have been driving in Alaska on the Seward HWY
@Alaskan Ballistics Never been, but, hope to go there someday soon! 👍🏻
I preordered starlink back in November they are now targeting march 2022 in my area. Will I receive the gen one satellite or Starlink 2?
@Gabe Platte You should receive gen 2. We got our gen 2 in December and 2 of our friends did as well.
Just got mine ! Monday afternoon , Tuesday spent like twenty minutes temporarily setting it up. Turned on the system , the dish at ground level in North Florida aimed itself North. Been enjoying awesome internet since.
Crazy i cant even get starlink 1 where i live. Im getting ready to pull my pre order since they gave it to asheville NC and not anywhere west of it.
Nice and cleand thanks for the reviwew =)
Would love to get ours, our internet is horrible and have been waiting on our Starlink 7 months.
@Williamson Ridge Outdoors Hopefully soon! 🤞🏻
Visible has been a game changer for me.
@Israel Anderson It has worked well for us in some locations (mostly metropoliton areas), however, many others it has not. I will say, for the low cost of the service, it was worth keeping to supplement our regular Verizon service.
Looking forward to seeing if you get service at all your destinations as you move west. :)
Starlink is in transit to rural Iowa. Trees are a concern so planning on roof installation. Any tips from others are welcome!
@Taylor Nagengast Congratulations! Haven't had much experience with trees yet. There is a visibility tool in the Starlink app that you can use to scan the sky from your install location to see if the trees will interfere.
61.2 watts is just in your specific case scenario. Add cold weather/snow or place it on a rocking boat and 150 plus watts can be seen.
.I have ice on my dish today and I did a speedtest it was way over 200 MB
When did you pre-order yours? I pre-ordered mine June 1st 2021 and still haven't got and invite to buy

Trey.
How were you able to order Starlink; most people are on a waiting list????
We got lucky. We are mobile and were spending 3 months at an RV Park near Corpus Christi, TX, so, we decided to change our service address to the RV Park. A few weeks later, we got a notice that the dish was ready to ship to that new address. Prior to that, we were also on the waiting list.
Wish I could get mine. Internet at home would be great
🤞🏻
I wonder how fast it can be if you will use the more stable Ethernet connection on fast gaming computers with gigabit LAN.
@@EddieAtLarge Thanks. Much appreciated.
Well it’s been 2 weeks did you move to a different area to see if it worked
@Trowland Adventures Our departure has been delayed. We are leaving on Monday. I did test moving it in the area here though with limited success. Found some interesting things when we did that and will be posting another video hopefully this weekend.
PING test result is BETTER than my Comcast Cable .. 43ms vs 53ms.
We ordered our Starlink on March 23rd, 2021 and we are STILL waiting. There is a ground station less than 50 miles away. It used to say "End of 2021" for delivery, now it says "Mid 2022". I so can't wait for it to come.
@W9HJ / Grimace That's a bummer. Hope you get it soon!
Same here. Every time one of my kids complain about the internet I tell them to blame Elin.
Ordered mine in April of 2021. Originally said Mid to Late 2021, then changed to Early to Mid 2022. Got it in the mail yesterday
@Fifty7Cal Nice! Congrats!
Also waiting , I ordered February 21.
Very excited to get my V2 dish - expected delivery is this Thursday ! I wish the ethernet adaptor came with the router! I have an order for several of the accessories ( including the Ethernet adapter ) - estimated ship date is March 15th-21st.
@keith montgomery Congrats!
How long was the waiting list? Please thanks
where to you get one?
@SeLENA B 5 months for us
@Lyncity www.starlink.com
Thanks for the review - this may be in the future for my trailer.
@Randal Cassidy Should be a good fit for your travels. We’ll test it out and let you know! 👍🏻
excellent information! I have to ask: were you in Port A when you shot this video?
Guess you can't stop progress...
How do you check the status of your Starlink order? Any info would be appreciated.
@Drew Turtle On Starlink.com, log in then go to "My Account" and it will tell you the status on the Home Page under "Your Orders".
@@EddieAtLarge Thank you kind sir
So I got a dishy but it’s showing obstruction directly above it when it’s just open blue sky anyone else been able to solve this issue?
@Sean Moon Have not heard of this. I'll pin your comment to the top so hopefully someone who knows will see and reply. Have you tried factory resetting the dish?
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Which one do you have? I have a dishy 2.0 and you can reset that by plugging it in and unplugging it five times fast, I recommend plugging it into a switch or something because you can flip the switch faster lol
Contacted starlink and had my location re configured 👍🏻 thx guys this solved it
@Sean Moon 👍🏻 Good to know!
Ordered! Can't wait !
Why is the 3rd video in this playlist unavailable?
@Jason Sage No 3rd video yet. That was one of the 1st videos that I had uploaded and then deleted, so, it shows up in the video count for some reason. Will post 3rd video later this week.
Awesome! I look forward to your next video.
12:45 dont have data caps in finland on any service.
👍🏻
Excited to experience 🙂 in India 🇮🇳
Great informational video. Thanks Don
Can i use a switch hub to distribute it to multiple routers?
@Mohammed Albayati I believe you should be able to. You would need to purchase the ethernet adapter to connect to the Starlink router with your switch hub. From what I read about it, you may be better off using Access Points instead of Routers. www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/le6srf/starlink_to_switch_then_router/
You can pause it if you bought the RV setup. Called pay as you go.
Yep. We now know this. Here is our latest video on Starlink "Portability". ua-cam.com/video/SvkEsPoc4Bo/v-deo.html 👍🏻
@@EddieAtLarge Cool, yeah I ordered the RV setup. It should arrive 6/2-6/8. I drive a semi OTR. looking forward for a mobile version. Cool video 👍🏿
@@crazzylee You’re gonna love it! Congrats and safe travels out there.
