imo don't wait for a label to sign your music. when you make music and you feel like your music is at least good enough for a release, just release it yourself and put it out there! people always say "but nobody listens to my music." and boi, you don't know who might see your track thanks to that self-release and who might want to hear your music if you meet someone who's curious. those potential people wouldn't have seen your track if you just waited for a label or even worse, didn't release it because labels said no. self-releasing isn't just a release, but it's also a big archive to see where you have come from if you ever feel down. that being said, ofc label releases gives you a bigger reach and has more eyes on it
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I’m also going to work on a follow up video with the best strategies to promote your self releases so that you get the most out of them. 👍
So what should a first release be? Label or independent? And if you haven’t already would love a video talking about how to get the most out of a first release 😃
Try to get your music to a quality level to either get signed or supported. I will work on a follow up video for the best methods to promote your music 👍🔥
if a labels provides more plays then you can on your own, then this approach make sense from a financial standpoint. Say u are left with a 50% cut that could be a lot more then your 100 on lot less plays. But for creative purposes I would honestly release myself. If I like the track thats the labels loss if they dont want to sign it
For me better is self-release but it is harder because everything must I do promotion, payments, releasing etc... I really don't know how I can promote my music and to get more views and money ?
Imanbek did a self-release of his unofficial 'Roses' remix on his VK page, which only had 300 followers. Two months later, a record label called Effective Records stumbled upon his release and decided to rerelease the remix as an official remix. Now that song has over 1.2B spotify plays. You never know what may happen with a self-release.
I agree on cons, you release on a label even of tier B or C and you see other artists unknwon similar to you getting 1 million and you 10k, wtf!It happened some labels just because a guy is from their country of close to them they push to better playlists. Also as you say, another cons is exclusivity on contracts, you see artists releasing every week and some labels force you to 4 weeks after or even 3 weeks before 3 after thats insane to lock you like that! But a huge cons of releasing on your own is that you gonna end up with 0 plays if you dont know right people or have to pay for promotion yourself, also the selfrelease has some costs as you see in distrokid or other to self release they want annual fee, which i dont like
Most of the time you also have to pay the same fee when Label releasing. And if you get a label deal you don’t have to sign with them longterm. Often there’s an option but most times the deal is for one release!
*Was your last release a Self Release or a Label Release?* 🤔
Self release 🐐
Self release
Distributed by novecore 😂...

How do I know if my music is good enough to submit to a label?
Getting professional feedback is a great way to know! I give 1-on-1feedback to all of my team members!
Thanks so much I really admire how you pay attention to detail, your information is very helpful 👊🏼
Self release was my last but hoping to get one on label soon! 🎶
Great goal! I believe in you ❤️😊
Self. No-one wants me yet. XD
It’s a great place to start!
@@musicbyLUKAS Thanks Lukas! I will keep going :-)
