The ending to these games can make or break it, these games are now about journey over destination… if your choices don’t matter and if the ending is bad then it’s a terrible game, a narrative game better pack a punch or else it’s not worth it. The writers just don’t have the chops to pull off what they attempted. Bad game
I am so happy that marvel movies and TV shows ran the concept of a multiverse so far into the ground, that any other media that attempts it, will instantly get a 'not this again' from me.
Just finished the game last night, I was in tears (of joy) and I had that feeling of “what do I do now” I just finished the game and that feeling of playing and experiencing it for the first time is gone, which I am so grateful for don’t get me wrong. Overall amazing game and I would give anything to experience that first play through again. The songs are always so good, in both life is strange 1 and now in this game. 🙏🏻❤️
For me this was the first LiS game since the original to capture that same feeling of excitement fear and total shock. Now just trying to learn how to move on from it 😅
Is it realistic that high school sweetheart part ways later in life? Sure, but does it make for an interesting story? I certainly don’t think so, (as I’m sure many do) especially with how this new installment handled it. You yourself mention that a few do stay together, why couldn’t this have been one of them? Regardless of opinion, it would have been better if they had just not returned to the characters of the first game and instead made something original. The story of the first game was already perfect and complete, it was intentionally left open ended so that you the player could have the ending you chose.
@@Chaotic_Joyi certainly dont think your life is very interesting if youre with the same person you were with in high school… Sure, some people match and grow together… But a couple who literally destroyed a town and therefore countless lives just to stay together… Doesnt stay together unless they are immoral pyschopaths that dont feel the pressure of countless lives being lost for your own happiness… Also, chloe already ghosted Max once, lets not act like she was the bestest of friends.
How are people supposed to review media without being able to actually talk about it? That spoiler nonsense is the best thing the video game industry could've come up with in order to avoid criticism.
@hanswurst9866 talk about the gameplay, the visuals, sounds, not about major plot points. I've seen other video reviews on this game and they do a better job.
Appreciate you guys mentioning the incredibly weird situation with DeckNine not even acknowledging their deeply problematic continued hire of a Nazi sympathizer. To put it mildly, it makes their attempts at appearing progressive and LGBTQ+ friendly rather unbelievable (several other details from the exposés adds to this feeling of a company that is not at all what they want to appear as). As much as I loved the original games, I simply can't see the DNA of those games in anything that Deck9 produces. There is no art to any of it, only replication. Combined with the abusive work environment at DeckNein, fake representation (removal of a trans character for instance) and awful business practices regarding everything from excessively high price points, the pathetic DLC milking and abusing the fans' fears of spoilers and missing out because of the premiere prelease access - this is just not something, I want to support in any way.
Cant wsit to play this game! Little bummed chloe wont be in phusically but whos to say she wont show up in the sequel! Im so invested in continuing maxs story with my og ending sacrificing arcadia. Cant wsit to mold how its affected her after all this time! Awesome review
not a problem for me on the chloe not being in it. imo if the game universe has a character die like 5x...that's the game universe saying that she's got to go. Also, sorry but sacrificing a whole town for her......nah.
I dont think ill even buy this what happend to the max i loved and brining max back but not chloe is a huge turn off… sad was looking forward to a better game
I pre-ordered and so far I am mostly bummed out by the game, mostly unlikeable characters, Safi is good, of course she is only in one world... way to go, half-ing the screen time of the best character! The female love interest is kind of whatever, Safi's mother is a terrible person, Moses is, like Safi pretty good. Gwen is just insufferable. Too much money for what is just color/texture swaps, bad handling of the first game's characters and up to just before the ending of chapter 2 middling use of the powers. I picked Chloe died instead of broken up, since that seemed to dry for their relationship. If it was had issues, and are on a break to deal with ourselves I would have gone that way. Joyce's texts are absolutely heart reaching... she has become a cat lady, gave up on dating and doesn't seem to talk to her perfectly good ex who laments how it went and maintains a good relationship with Chloe and Maxine in the timelines where they are together as we know from the second game and would MURDER for Chloe as you would know from telling him in the bunker her fate. The guy was probably the only character firmly in the Good DnD orientation in the first game and I hate that it so far hasn't been mentioned that they are trying to patch things up in the timeline where the mother lives. The man was a gem, a little too Lawful for my liking but literally all his real issues were PTSD from Iraq... so he was the representation of mental illness and the US mistreatment of veterans in the first game. yet guess who has been mentioned: mean girl B-word Victoria, she is even milking the whole killer in town thing even though in that timeline she was never even captured! After the pre-order chapters, ONE good part has so far happened where I felt like the game was actively using the full potential. Dimensional switching an object and time clone interaction's consequences has been amazing but I hope it isn't a one off like Max going speedster in the first game. It would be great if there are full on Ghost Trick esc puzzles to get people to do things and give you information but so far it has just been a bit more high school drama among University Professors.... Super pathetic.
Other then the crispiness of the graphics there is also a Sweet Baby Inc feel to a lot of the character designs, this is an arts and science College! Where are the Brookes and Chloes? I want super geeks seen experimenting with exoskeletons and Punks spray painting designated areas! Instead they are all kind of bland mildly preppy types.
The final choice was the most underwhelming decision ive ever had to make at the end of a LiS game .
No one asked
😂 @@EddieTheHorrorAddict
tbh i had no problem leaving safi cuz i kinda hated her near the end
Biggest problem for me was the characters lack of reaction to anything.
Thanks for the review. It's a shame to see how many formerly good franchises are getting terrible sequels at the moment.
and yes as people might have noticed I am a super fan of the series, it helped when I was in a dark place.

Do these fans only have one relationship in their life. Very few stay with someone they got with as teen.

lis was always more of a visual novel with the illusion of choice but come on, there literally was no real consequence to anything this game
Your review is a bit spoilerish

the full game is already out, just dont watch full reviews in general xd

Even the expanse had more important choices than this
The comments should be fun
Looks as though they haven't been told by their masters to come here yet..
Who paywalls a cat? Honestly..
yeah and the cat is one dimension only and that content, other then some pullovers, starts at the end of chapter 2.
It’s a damn cute cat!
Knowing Ellen she likely wasn’t happy about having to pay for the cat

Chloe was an ass. Glad she's gone

I can't put my finger on it, but something about the art style isn't doing it for me.
It looks more realistic and less catoony like the old ones. I think thats the problem lol. Looks great tho if they were going for realism
I mean this with love, original LiS had that slightly janky look to it while Deck Nine LiS is even smooth

@@queenoffabulous2156 yeah the remaster lost a little of the: we are seeing things through the artistic recallings of Max, feel the first had.
Life is strange true colors have that similar graphic as this game with a but more realistic look
