Safi felt like a Chloe copycat, with Nathan vibes. She literally has the same backstory as Nathan! Both come from Riches, have a parent that pushes them to a breaking point, and mentally not right in the head.
But I'd say she's more of a rachel with slight nathan vibes. Rachel came from a rich family, had powers because of family trauma, was mentally instable and absolutely insufferable. They even looked slightly similar. It didn't work in before the storm so idk why deck nine thought it was a good idea to bring her back with a slight change.
@ so real about the “why bring them back” part! I definitely see the Rachel similarities as well! I was thinking Chloe copycat cause Safi is 5’8 and born on March 10, which is a day before Chloe’s birthday 😒.
Bro this story feels like when your in school you have to write a 8 paragraph essay. You write the first five paragraphs beautifully. Then you just bs the rest of the three bc either you want to finish or you don’t have time to finish.😭
@@AcAlvin I finished the game yesterday and it was just kind of blank I honestly don’t really know what to think about it. You can see that the ending was just there as a cash grab but idk it’s like the saying we enjoyed the journey but the destination was meh 🫤 I don’t really know tbh
It honestly feels like they rushed the ending. As if they couldn't figure out what to do after chapter four so they just did random shit. It reminds me of when I forgot to do an essay for college and quickly wrote it in less than 30 minutes. I would have rather had them push the release date back further just to get a full game. It's like an unfinished project IMO. IDK, it was just disappointing cause I was very excited for it. Just to get an ending that made no sense and wasn't even an actual ending. It just overall feels rushed after the fourth chapter. AND the map/characters feels like they couldn't be bothered to generate anything for it. It felt very small whereas the others felt like a HUGE game to me. I really enjoyed the first 4 chapters. Just wish they spent more time working on the last parts.
the story should’ve been longer in my opinion. after paying $80 for early access just to be disappointed…i’ve learned my lesson lol. i loved moses & gwen and wanted to know sooo much more about them! for a murder mystery storyline to go in the direction it did, it could’ve been executed better. and it might just be me, but i didn’t see how any of the choices REALLY changed or affected things down the line. when i played lis1 & 2 i was constantly restarting chapters because i knew my choices really mattered, but here i didn’t feel i got that😅
That is usually how long all of the LiS games are. All of them always contained 5 chapters that are about 2-3 hours long. That is until additional expansions come to the game. This one was no different. You probably felt it was short because you did not really enjoy it it seems and rushed through it.
@@pilot.sergio4lol I actually did not rush through at all. i just recently played all of the other life is strange games and those each took me days to get through. i actually did enjoy the game but overall wish it was a little more fleshed through. again just my opinion. to each their own.
The problem is that none of these new characters hold a candle to the original cast, especially Chloe. I know that Chloe is flawed, but that's also what made her so compelling. You understand where she's coming from while still holding her accountable for her actions because you want to see her do better.
This, precisely! Chloe was an outstanding character because of her flaws and redeeming qualities, the latter outnumbered the former and shined through at the end of LiS.
@@bravo0105 Chloe's flaws VASTLY outweighed her redeeming qualities in every way. And by shine through at the end, it was literally at THE fucking end right before the last choice where she decided not be selfish or arrogant for once in the entire game. Her only redeeming quality was that she cared about Max but she was still just so unlikeable and a horrible friend. BTS IMO actually sympatheizes her MUCH better.
For me I feel like the creators went for that “lovable dork” kind of vibes but they got lost on the way and just made her very insufferable especially that call option whether you answer or not I was like girl it’s a phone call I can have more than one friend and still appreciate you but I still love her tbh I guess you may call that nostalgia or whatever but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t annoying at times but I still definitely cried when I had to choose her or Arcadia bay so it’s a bit of a love hate relationship for me but ofc it’s different for everyone depending on personality, experiences (in the game and real life experiences) etc and if I caused you any offence I am sorry please just remember this is my opinion and please just be nice 👍
@@Ash-uf4fv Accepting that premise, would LiS have worked or been memorable WITHOUT Chloe as a contrast/foil to Max? Her backstory makes her antisocial behavior all the more believable and tragic as she was portrayed as a straight-laced honor student and generally sweet girl at the time of William's death, yet even elements of that still shine through as an embittered punk. She apologizes to Max for her harshness and selfishness several times prior to the end.
I think the game would be better if Safi were the protagonist and the mystery was discovering why her friend Maya committed suicide. Then all the ways Safi took revenge on people would be your choice. You'd be in the thick of it using Safis shapeshifting to try to figure out who did what and you could choose how to react to that, who to take revenge on, who to show mercy to, and ultimately what form of justice to seek. Alderman could be an ally or enemy depending on your choices, Lucas the slimy obvious bad guy and Yasmin would be the main antagonist behind the scenes, pulling all the strings and covering up all the dirt to keep Caladons reputation clean.
Writers always find a way to make the LORE more interesting for a story than the plot, safi meeting Max as a new student WOULD be more interesting than mentioning Chloe and past characters
Vince did not die, he was erased from history......a VERY cool , terrifying mechanic that could have had major implications for the mainstory and characters....but it turned out to be no more than a casual fart in the wind. This game is the worst kind of trash, so much wasted potential , all the makings of something great, but instead like most things of late, gotta make sure all the boxes are ticked, story and character development are of little importance
The very first Life is Strange still makes me think about it 10 years later. no other game in the franchise could ever grab me like it did back then. that game truly is lightning in a bottle even though it was very flawed. Im glad D9 didn't touch Kate Marsh or David Madsen because they are my favorite characters and they have a history of ruining established lore
It really is a beautiful game!! I can cry just thinking about that game it had so much depth! & I really cared about Acadia Bay & the people in it. It takes a very special game to make you feel that way.
"established lore" Dontnod was still involved in Life is Strange 2. People change and rarely ever stay the same for their entire lives, especially after traumatic events. People changing between games is not 'ruining established lore', it's literally 'character development', a thing praised in the literary world.
It never should have had a sequel. It was a complete story and message in itself, sincere and surprisingly deep, even if it was wrapped up in cringey awkward dialogue that some found hard to look past. Everything since the first game has fallen short because the makers have no true vision, they're just reusing parts of the first game like lego bricks without really understanding why it worked. Max's powers were always more allegorical than real, in the sense that they were just one of the tools used to tell a story about loss, regret, growing up, and acceptance, rather than being about a 'super hero' with cool powers. Her story was over. Making a follow up and giving her even more powers is such a spit on the original, and Safi's powers and story is laughably bad. They even reused the dead best friend and hurricane for this game lmao absolutely no identity of its own, and as shallow as a puddle. The cringey shit is so much worse this time around too, not endearing in the slightest, and some of the writing is unbearably bad. Just a corny and derivative cash grab.
Life is strange 2 is still hot garbage to me. Absolutely horrible gaming experience. However this new game disrespects the lore quite a bit. Especially chloe and Max's relationship. From what we know of chloe, she wouldn't break up with max for those reasons. It's as if the backstory was contrived by people that didn't play the games.
uhh did you watch before the storm or something? her face was shown, she had a whole ass story of her own, what are u talking about? oh and shes more interesting because shes Chloes love interest, u know how everbody is with chloe right?
I dont even Understand my ending! HAHA Max went to the bar spoke to everyone Safi never showd up and that was it! Roll credits. I have never been so confused
Episodes 1-3 felt like a different storyline than 4-5. From murder mystery to Safi being a b*tch and Max being obsessed with her but trying to stop her. It felt like 2 different games tbh.
All they had to do was say Chloe was away and they were doing long distance relationship during the events of this game and woulda saved them from the Pricefield backlash. But nothing was gonna save this game cause the story is just not there, even the Save Bay ending players have expressed frustrations with this story.
@@drunkenqueen3077 Would that be that bad? Their romances weren't all that fleshed out anyway and you don't actually end up with either of them. Having an option for a not single Max wouldn't be the end of the world there are platonic options for both those characters.
I was excited when I first heard about this game, then I started to think about it, and then I got worried. I wondered how they could bring back Max without destroying the ending of the first game. From what I heard I was right, and I am now really glad I didn't buy Double Exposure.
When you think about a game from 2015 still outdid a game from 2024 it's so funny. The difference between number of locations in the first LiS and in the last one is HUGE? We had the academy, Chloe's house, part of the city, Chloe's parallel reality house, the storm-ravaged city, even Jefferson's damn basement... And the amount of locations in Double Exposure is simply embarrassing. Some characters were indeed shown only to be forgotten. Why? Anyway I'm 100000% agree with your opinion, because I was waiting so long for another one Max adventure and payed a lot money for the game to get something really cringe...
I think alderman was a very good, but wasted and underused character. Should've been the villain, 100 percent agree, he was well acted and had an interesting story that sadly went nowhere 😢
I actually found the story not nearly as bad as most other, but I agree, he should have been the main villain instead of lucas and lucas should have been a side villain instead.
At the end of chapter 5 i thought maybe this "peaceful" ending was gonna fall apart like the darkroom scenes in LiS 1 but it just ends with max giving a little speach? And thats it? Like what
Honestly they probably should have picked the "Save Arcadia Bay" ending as the canon for game 1 and then made the story about Chloe somehow coming back to life, or maybe Max finding Chloe again on the alternate reality while investigating Safi's murder and trying to connect with her again.
That was what i was hoping for when the limelines started to merge together. I was thinking a Chloe from the other timeline could still be alive, and show up at the very end of the game. Now that would be a cliffhanger.
Bringing back Chloe would just undo the entire story of the first game lmao. It was over. They never should have made a direct sequel. That's why they made this crappy game to begin with, because people just wanted more, instead of something new.
First game: Max can’t change fate. It has to happen or the consequences will be worse so she has to accept it Double exposure: Max says “nah I’d win” to fate and decides to completely go against it with zero consequences aside from safi becoming magneto lmao It also left many unanswered questions. What happened to the cop? They did that and it was never mentioned ever again. Why does fate decide to be so lenient all of a sudden? Inguess it just didn’t like Chloe. What’s the point in exposing Lucas in front of like a minimum of 20 people aside from letting safi get her W and avenge maya which realistically maya could have been cut from the game let’s be honest. How do people develop powers? Can anybody get powers and do you get specific powers based on what they are feeling?
Some of the background lore can be discovered during interactions with others such as "tex messages" .. during the 1 part Mosses said he tried looking and finding about the cop but what happened made it so the cop never existed in the first place. The bits with the teacher and Maya were def used as the building steps of this all happening because of YASMIN. Also the only reason why they survived the storm was due to Max's interactions. Also at the end everyones minds combined with themselves into 1... Also the end part with Safi and Diamond highlighted that diamond had powers from the get go (she was also unaffected in the storm)
I watched DomtheBomb's playthrough at 2x speed for most of the gameplay. Not because of him, but because of how genuinely bored I was. They ran out of ideas and just repeated the end of lis1 with an Avengers age of ultron looking ending. Btw, the nightmare sequences should be called hot flashes. After 10 years and five games, it's no longer scary and mysterious, it's contrived and inconvenient to an already dumpster fire of a story. I loved the first two games, I loved the IDEA of this one, but if we spent less time on checking every identity politic box and uninteresting ships, we could get at least a half decent game.
The Don't Nod original gives us a story that by the time it ends, you want to know what will happen to Max. Does she survive the loss of Chloe/ Arcadia Bay? How? Deck Nine doesn't seem to be able to grab your emotions by the conclusion of the game, whether its BtS or this.
I personally love BtS but I get what you mean. It just feels like deck nine wanted an existing platform to create other games (to me BtS works with LiS 1 because it’s before what happens to max, so you don’t feel like there’s unanswered questions like you said) and that’s why for now i don’t like double exposure (and LiS 2 or True Colours, not because they’re bad games but because they have no like with the first game which still makes me kind of sad)
Tbh square owns lis de so it depends on them in a meeting of the gaming industry of who wanna work on it or not just remember that since they have future games as a project to work on to but my theory might be that in the business world they have to split projects on what they have to do since one studio is want to do lis and then a new game from square that’s lost records other studios wanna do that it depends on either deck 9 and dontnod to chose tbh
@@randomize2225 Well its just in the original game you come to a very heartbreaking choice at the end. If you go for the idea Max abd Chl0e are in love as I do it gets very intense. You go away from the game wanting more,. The other games don't have that. I guess I I just want the same thing in the other games.
game was way to short for the price. Story was ok bc if you picked 1 route it stuck with that route. The investigation was fine tons of going back and forth. I didn't care much about the ppl except max and her best friend NOT love interest unless you picked that 1 option at beginning.
Well Deck Nine was heavily involved since the first game. They made the expansions Before the Storm for the first game and True Colors. They also worked on the remastered version of the first game. They are not new to the franchise, just don't know what they were thinking when creating their story for Double Exposure. The beginning really grabbed peoples attention but at EP 5 was when is became a mess.
Before ths storm imo captured the same magic as the original game so it's proven that both studios know how to make good games. But idk the last 2 games imo have sucked bad.
@@sora15151SomethingAppropriatenah lol What in the actual Shaka brah HAPPENED to goddamn Detective Alderman. Dude about caught Max but that man got vanish to the void for the sake of storyline that going nowhere lol Oh yeah and Yasmin still got shot no matter what you choose so I TRY SO HARD AND GOT SO FAR, IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER 😢😢
I agree with you about the mockery. This game is mockery of every aspect of LiS1: 1. They decided to do the best friend's victims relationship with a teacher but fluked so badly it doesn't have impactful impression (Safi-Maya-Lucas) (Chloe-Rachel-Mark) 2. The storm is not as terrifying in LiS1; nobody dies or missing by the storm that supposedly killed a town, but here it's just making a nightmare 3. The nightmare sequence didn't feel creepy as original; in original all Max's insecure and choices are reflected by the nightmare that she feels remourse and unsure about her power and its consequences. Here it just trying to save people and fix them, and no consequences of her new power (merging two timelines with no consequences? Big no) Overall the game was a cash cow for players only with no impactful taste, the choices are singular (no matter what you choose, its always the same), no character development for each new characters, the plotholes that so bad that the games even didn't explain, and the old characters didn't get their own justice. I give it 2/10
I really feel this. None of the choices made me take pause and really think them through, because there wasn't much weight to them at all. "These actions will have consequences", will they really? Episode 3 got me really excited, but it went downhill really quickly. If you asked me what the plot was about, I wouldn't even really know how to break it down for you. (SPOILERS) I fully thought that Safi was going to shift into Chloe during the stand-off, revealing that she'd met her IRL and that she'd been on hers and Max's tail for a whole lot longer in her quest to seek ppl with powers. That would've been INTERESTING, to say the least. I was holding my breath for that to happen, but then it just didn't. That really was just it, huh? An extremely unmemorable and lackluster ending. The 'final choice' felt meaningless to me, because what are the consequences, really? What did i actually decide and change there? An ending where Max is forced to shoot Safi or let her walk away and form her little marvel army would've been better than that. Anyways, I've finally learned my early access lesson too :')
I didn't play personally, but I watched other youtubers playthrough. I thought the first two chapters were a good start. Introduced the characters and new superpowers effectively and ended on a cliffhanger. Then chapter 3 were great, not as good but still interesting. It was cool to see that fan theories about shapeshifters were true! ... Then chapter 4-5.. It felt like when a writer has started a story with intention, but gets tired of their work so they starts checking off a checklist of what should happen without including careing how the story will reach the points. For me they ruined Safi's character. She became "evil" for no reason and lost her humanity? Proclaimed herself as god, superhuman - kind of like Yagami Light (Death Note) but unlike Safi we got to see Light change into a monster. While Safi was freed from the faces of others but immediately returned to harnessing her power; despite knowing the consequences. Then as you mentioned, new characters were irrelevant to the story. Gwen. Loretta. Amanda. Robbie. Vinh. Maya. Even Moses (love him though)- they were given no chance to become "persons" with complex feelings, as in the original and e.g. Victoria - You hate to love her, while every character in Double Exposure was a chess piece. Nothing more. I also hoped Max would cross a parallel universe where Rachel lived (refers to the Comics) - just for fanservice 😏
I appreciate this comment. Was really thinking of getting the game to play over the weekend, BUT i think ill just save my money and play new Fortnite season i guess lol. Thanks again!
The plot made no sense to me after chapter two. The plot focuses on so many plot points which are largely irrelevant to the story about Safi’s death. The shooter being Max makes no sense looking at when Safi’s death originally happens, and comparing it to when could’ve happened in the plot. I don’t think the game should have focused on Maya’s death, Gwen getting fired, Max’s romance, and Vihn’s relationship with Safi (like 75% of the game after chapter two). These mini mysteries could’ve been interesting to explore, but it should’ve waited until concluding the focus on the game. Figuring out who was behind the murder of Safi. Again, Max being the one who killed Safi made absolutely no sense, and it should’ve been Lucas or someone trying to tie up loose ends, or something along those lines.
Before chapter 3 I was thinking that a Max from a third timeline is the one who shoots Safi, and is also the one leaving those pictures lying around that you can find. She shoots her because Safi's powers brings back the same storm from the first game. That would have been at least somewhat interesting even if it just led to Max choosing between a loved one and a whole town again. But nope.
my dumbass thought it could have been safi that shape shifted info max and took a picture of herself holding the gun but then when i saw max used her power to jump in that moment it made me so confusedddd
The last chapter 100% was shorter than the rest. There wasn’t very many choices that affected the ending or relationships. I hate that we didn’t see what happened with Chloe, Warren, Kate, etc. everything felt rushed and sloppy
After Episode 2, the story completely lost me. Empty characters, various plot holes, lots of walking around just looking at items and shallow conversations with people but none of it drives the story forward. I wanted to see Diamond + Moses develop. What happened to the detective who they brought in as someone who could majorly change the story then disappears because he touched his doppelgänger? Why was there no explanation of what happened to him? What timeline was the beginning of the game because how was Safiya shot when Max wasn’t even there, she discovered her. I think they keep pushing the “alternate realities” and combined timeline narrative to cover up plot holes that simply don’t make sense. I was surprised to see a lot of similarities with the first game. At a school environment, shady professors, gay couples, “Abraxas” (Vortex club), friendship that is way too emotionally enmeshed. At the beginning Max mentioned she had only been at that institution for a month or 2 when she met Safi? Versus having known Chloe since they were kids. And yet every moment it seemed like there was an underlying hint of romance in their interactions, and pretty much everyone Max interacted with aside from Moses. Same plothole of the random dead girl who was the former best friend of the emotionally enmeshed current best friend. The story quickly shifted from a murder mystery to trying to expose a professor for stealing a students work..? Someone she didn’t even know? All of this over a book 😂 The story was shallow. Started strong, ended poorly. 5/10
Up until the end of Episode 3 I drew parallels to the first LIS game about how amazing it is and how many things just felt engaging. However, from Episode 4 it started to go down hill up until the Ending of Episode 5, where I didn't even fully understand the final decision and what consequences it has. The biggest disappointment for was how the final decision of the game didn't make me constantly evaluate the consequences of my actions and juggle around with my emotions. Instead, all I'm thinking about is, how am I supposed to justify the final decision I've made, that invoked more confusion rather than clarity and a meaningless aftermath regardless of your choice. The excitement I had with this game at the beginning and in the middle was burned down in the end, which makes me kinda sad.
This is like the comics continuation of The Walking Dead: The Final Season where Clementine (the MC) left AJ (the only important person left in her life) for some unknown freaking unreasonable reason in the middle of the night. I refuse to believe that Life is Strange: Double Exposure is the real sequel of the original Life is Strange game.
@silverwind3766 Yeah, and I don't know if it's just me but I feel that DE is bloated with too much unnecessary scenes and interactions. Like the kissing scenes, it just shows that Max became somewhat horny over the years like ughhh, it's not the characteristics of the Max I once knew that's why I dislike DE.
@@ChessyRawr Yeah crazy for a character to have character development and to have sexual feelings. You sound like you're stuck in the past and want fanfic instead of good writing.
@@sora15151SomethingAppropriate Bruh, it's too unnecessary for the plot dude. Max only flirted with Amanda for days without much going on with them and they began kissing. Same for Vinh, they aren't even close enough for Max to kiss him. The original Life is Strange where Max and Chloe kissed each other is where the kissing became good for the plot because they have been through a lot and it is shown how they care so much for each other (depends on player choices if Chloe will kiss you of course).
I just hate the direction the game went in after episode 3. It felt like a plot twist just for the sake of it. To me, it seemed like they were leading up to timelines merging together (with the sightings of doppelgängers) and in general would make sense as Max is literally tearing through the two timelines multiple times a day. That was really intriguing! But no! It turns into a completely different narrative. And I really liked the idea of Max running into alternate universe Max at the end of episode 3 but it just turns out to be Safi? I think Safi was a compelling character, they clearly tried to make her multifaceted by making her have bad sides to her personality but also having redeeming qualities; but that all went away by episode 4 because she suddenly because this power / revenge hungry supervillain ??? which was not established previously at all. I hate that they marketed it as a “supernatural murder mystery” when 50% of the game isn’t even about a murder mystery but just about following your friend around who’s a horrible person. People have already mentioned the ending but what also bothered me is the way things were resolved. It seems like Max has to either kill Safi or let the university be destroyed (which I think is good that they didnt make us make that choice as its a cheap copy from the first game) but it just fixes itself by her walking into the storm? How does that make any sense? And then the “big final decision” is just choosing if you want to help Safi or neglect her… which didn’t even really feel like a choice because the whole game revolves around Max coping with the consequences of her powers, why would she choose to ignore all that trauma and just start using her powers again? It feels so out of character. I’ve also seen that a lot of people only chose to agree to Safi’s plan because they didn’t know what she was even asking Max to do lol, I’m still not entirely sure! I also didn’t like the setup for a sequel. Not only does it look like we’ll be staying with this bland cast of side characters but I’m also just worried about them butchering the franchise even more. I liked aspects of this game but it does not live up to the typical life is strange standard, especially since they want to take this franchise in some marvel superhero-esque direction….
Honestly, i feel like it started kinda strong. but then they fell off in the end story wise. It got way too confusing, and some questions were never answered.. Safis character made no sense one minute. She's like, "End me. Im the reason for all this, " then ends up developing a god complex? And now want to make the Avengers of Life is Strange? Like the idea of finding out why certain people have powers isn't a bad idea. I honestly thought it could be cool, but i dont think D9 can do it well enough to actually make that intriguing now.
And it would have been so easy to fix! Just have Chloe on tour with her band as a reason why she isn't in the game. Heck, they could have made money selling Chloe band merch to the Pricefield fans. It really goes to show how much they genuinely hate Chloe when it even eclipses making money.
This is the worst LiS game I've ever played. I won't be playing any more future entries if they're anything like this game. 0/10. This is just the original game remade but masquerading as a sequel.
I’ve never been more disappointed by a game, until chapter 5 i do have to say i was really enjoying the game but oh boy the final chapter completely ruined it for me, everything didnt make sense, we didnt even got a reason to why was Safi killed in the first place. Worse then that now we have MORE GAME COMING? omg i think this was finally a stop from the life is strange games. On the other hand im really excited about Lost Records, cant wait to see what they did there
I hate to say this: but this is the first time I watch a longplay if this game and find myself skipping entire conversations. And I have loved LIS for many years now...
*Spoilers* -----5:37 I agree that the Moses character should have been written better and included much more in the plot. He is a Physicist but yet the writers made him hardly interested and hardly curious about delving deeper into the scientific side of things. He was curious initially but later on down the line it seemed he wasn't as curious, which doesn't make sense for a scientist who would be curious to know more especially someone who is a professor at a university. If they had trouble writing it they could have done more story research to make the character more believable, they could have considered talking to actual academics in Physics/Scientists to get an idea of how they would react/what they would question if they came across such a thing as Max's power with the two timelines. Sure they can't incorporate all academic perspectives/theories into the story as it's fiction but they could have at least added some more to give the Moses character more depth and make him and Max investigate the Alderman situation and the polaroid situation a lot more. They also didn't explain to us how Moses' hair turning grey affected him. That was a missed opportunity. Instead they gave Diamond powers which makes no sense; it makes much more sense for Moses to have developed a new power from the Alderman situation and Safi 'recruiting' him or trying to recruit him would make the story more interesting as it would lead to Moses having to decide who to follow; Max or Safi. I think overall Chapters 1-3 were really good but I disliked the end of Chapter 3 with the terribly forced and cringey romance scenes and really disliked Chaters 4 and 5 which felt very unfinished and unedited. You could also tell that the end episodes were rushed and not really properly reviewed especially in the scenes at the end in the turtle when they kept making weird and unnecessary camera cuts to the background decor and figurines as the characters were speaking.
2.5 rating is an absolutely deserved for this HUGE DUMP of garbage of a game so disappointing, like seriously they COPIED ELIZABETH'S POWER FROM BIOSHOCK ITS EXACTLY THE SAME THING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As someone whose been a fan since day one when we had to wait almost an entire year for the full game experience with time between each chapter to theorize , same with Before the storm and Life is strange 2 I would be so excited to see what everyone thought in the theorizing and to finally get full games immediately felt like a godsend instead of waiting this one lacked everything the first 4 games had . I am so sad I spent 30 extra dollars to have my outfit packs completely locked literally 4 options i couldn’t access at all I was really confused . The cat content should not have been a feature locked out to anyone as it’s literally just a few minutes of Max with a cat that’s it no actual quest line or additional use for that cat that added anything to the game experience whatsoever then Max gives the cat away at the end of the game and we don’t even see a handoff it’s in text messages we find this out . This game completely cut out any references to the comic at all and would have been so much more fun to play had we had that I can get why as it’s based on the Bae timeline and Tristen is a timeline hopper in the comics. To not include Chloe in any capacity except for text messages is just criminal and honestly I would have preferred finding out Safi had broken them up somehow I’m not sure it’s just theorizers we’re coming up with better plot elements then what Deck Nine was doing . This game makes me so mad because I waited almost 9 years for more Max and Chloe , I get that they wanted to honor both choices the player made in the OG but this just wasn’t the way to do it . I’m also mad that Bloom And Rage was delayed till next year to give this time to come out because DontNod wanted to be respectful but honestly I see DontNod kinda laughing at this because it truly was such a disappointment and a honest cash grab . I liked the idea at the end we may get more Max in the future but with me feeling the way I do and honestly wanting a refund for this is kinda where I am . The music was beautiful yes , but there was literally only so far you can go in the game and the murder mystery rapped up so quickly that I was kinda just stunned at everything going on . The last 2 chapters are so short and like he said felt more like a movie then it did a game that you had any control over and the choices in the game sometimes would lead to almost the same cutscenes like the cop seeing the photo on the counter it seemed like no matter what I did it was the same result . Or the Loretta choice calling her bluff no matter the next dialogue choice Gwen’s pissed at you . Max talks about this later on about how no matter what you change there’s always a price and it typically turns out the same and that’s not what I loved about the original game . All the dialogue choices did make different things change even if it’s just the illusion of choice getting to the final choice of the game which did make everything irrelevant sure but at least the journey felt like we had more control over . This is where praise for life is strange 2 comes because every choice had a consequence and there was so many endings that you could experience . Whereas True colors and this game the endings that we had are almost completely identical and honestly don’t truly matter . I’m mad because I love Chloe Price she was someone I related to , she was someone I wanted to protect , that the choices I made lead us to the end and I solidified the Bae ending because what did I do that all for just to watch her die again not knowing that we have a hell , not knowing Rachel was dead , dying thinking she was a failure and unloved . Absolutely not , and Deck Nine decided that sacrifice wasn’t enough to keep them together at least as friends in life . Chloe lost so much in her own life before Max and the storm why would she give up on there friendship ? To finish this up the plot holes in the game are all over the place , What was the point in Max getting an invite to Abraxas ? What was the asteroid that Moses talked about as Safi ? Did Alderman die and not come back during the Merge , why were they seeing doubles was the veil that thin but why was the Alderman based on the past instead of the present did someone else Die because he wasn’t really discussing Safi did the Max in the secondary timeline die was that what the second Alderman discussing because everyone had doubles except Max ? Why was Alderman so hellbent to get under Maxs skin about Arcadia Bay ? Also Moses looks him up and he never existed was meeting himself and getting grabbed by himself was that all it took to erase his existence ? I felt Alderman was actually Nathan’s father and felt like that would have been a better storyline . Also what was the point of the collectibles of a Maxs life that she never lived ? I understand they are just collectibles but what was the point that they were trying to make and why were they left behind for max to find . Ultimately Square should give the series back to DontNod since the fans have once again been screwed by DeckNine who truly don’t actually have any love for the original concepts of the first two games at all .
Ugh yea....I feel pretty much the same....I missed chloe for so long now, And was so excited for a new story with max....but now after playing it I feel even more depressed cuz of how chloe kinda jus abandons max.....broke my heart any time max talked about her 😢 this game jus doesn't do it for me.....wish I could rewind time and just play lis 1 again....ugh
Perhaps a scene between Max and Chloe (if Arcadia Bay was sacrificed) where the two sit down and have supper on the living room couch might have saved this game to a fault. Like Nathan and Elena at the beginning of Uncharted 4. That should be chef's kiss instead of ass's kiss for the fans.
Look, I don't want to attack this game. It's a game. I'm sure some will like it, good for them and the developers. I'd say it lacks the emotional story and character depth of previous LIS games for sure, personally. It started off like previous games but then turned almost... campy halfway through. They seem like they're headed in a Heroes type of story with the ending and I'm not sure that will benefit the storytelling, but we'll see. A little disappointed Lucas turned out to be so shallow but whatever. I'm not a Chloe fan so I don't really care, but I will say it's bizarre how Max's dark room hallucination of Victoria and Chloe flirting and hooking up essentially came true in this game, or at least implied. 😅 But hey if anyone likes the game, that's cool. I'm just neutral towards it.
Well first and foremost I have to say that I am a massive life is strange fan. The way especially the first game resonated with me was and still is truly special. So wehen I heard about a new LiS with max I was pretty worried but at the same time intrigued. I wasn’t to surprised that the didn’t manage to find a good way of “dealing” with Chloe. I also didn’t expect the game to be perfect and didn’t have to be for me to like it. The problem is that it misses out completely on what LiS is about, Characters. Believable, empathetic and likeable or hate able characters. Let’s begin with the main focus of the game, at least in the beginning, Safi. I am being told from the get go that I am supposed to like that character even though I know nothing about her. Which by the way is a reoccurring theme. In the beginning she was ok I guess but at the end she is not a friend I wanna safe but more of a villain in that story. But still the game doesn’t acknowledge that at all and still puts her on a pedestal. She is beieng framed as a poor girl that had a hard life. But while she didn’t have it easy she quite literally wants to play god with her powers how am I supposed to like her. She is basically a psychopath. Not to mention the avengers assemble line they are going with. For all the other characters. Amanda is ok but I know basically nothing about yet I’m being told to like her immediately and surprise at the end of the game I still don’t know smithing about her. Moses is just the most inoffensive character ever but that’s all he is. Just the nice science guy nothing more nothing less. And that’s about it with real characters. The rest are just people you talk to once or twice and even then they are not likeable anyway. Also the game really doesn’t allow for any impactful decision making besides the end choice and even that is lacklustre. Besides the obvious plot holes and the game rushing through its story even though it isn’t even a complicated one it just feels like an empty husk written by someone who has never talked to actual people in real life. And after all my choices in the game which I almost every time decided to reject using powers and not helping Safi play god the game presents me with Max will return. Like what do you mean I literally did everything so that didn’t happen. Anyway to not end on a sad note Max looks great and her voice actor does a tremendous job which would have been much more appreciated in a better game.
I could write a better story, that uses references from the first game. For example Max could work full time as a truck driver (first game had Max talk to a truck driver) and part time photographer. She sees weird shit driving trucks and trying to solve a murder mystery or finding a missing person (Chloe goes missing) while on the road.
I know how you feel, I went digging through my writing archives and found an old fanfic from 2015 (it’s as terrible as you could imagine) however I’m thinking of rewriting it and expanding it :D
@@computerizedprincess Alice isn't dead instantly came to mind as well, I feel like a soulful, melancholic roadtrip story would match the whole vibe of the LiS games (I guess Lis 2 was kind of like that).
Thanks for being brutally honest! I've heard alot of negative things about this game, very few positive which is a shame because I am a big fan of the series! When I saw that IGN gave it a 9.... I read all the comments and stuff and it didn't line up... Your review feels alot more accurate... I guess I better wait until they put it for streaming haha 👍🏼 thanks pal, great video! 🧡
Yeah but don't nod developers said a long while ago that max and Chloe's story is done and that they won't make any more games with them as the protagonists and that whatever happens to them later is upto the player's choice and imagination.. They said they're done with their story because they'd have to disrespect one of the endings and that's not the point of this game but oh well it's literally what d9 had done in this game and it's pathetic
I feel like the developers thought if they made it a normal murder mystery and have the game be about Max finding out who did it (as we all thought it was going to be about) that it would be boring or predictable. Instead, they started a bunch of incomplete plots that caused more confusion than anything and left a lot unfinished. (Gwen being fired, Yasmin being fired, romances between Diamond/Moses Vinh/Reggie, what happened to the detective, what was the purpose of Abraxas besides a knockoff Vortex Club) I would’ve been fine with a fully fleshed out murder mystery regardless of that seeming cliche
Deck Nine really dropped the ball on this one. They seemingly went with the MCU route on this one and I would not be shocked if that took full effect for the next game.
I may be wrong about this, but i don't like the game. Haven't played it, but that's because one reason. the relationship between Chloe and Max. Like wtf? From what i understand, the game let's you choose two options. One, is that you say she's dead, continuing the ending where you sacrificed Chloe for the survival of Arcadia bay. The second option is that they broke up, like, what? You mean to tell me that Max, who sacrificed a whole town and killing who knows how many just to defy fate and keep Chloe alive, broke up with Chloe? What? They did their relationship dirty. Honestly, it would have been better for Chloe and Max to still be together, only with Chloe somewhere else, idk, for work or something, and have no no potential romance interests in the game. That would have been way better. Or better yet, why didn't they just include Chloe in the story as well? Already being together and all that. Missed opportunity if you asked me.
Interesting to see this POV of the game. I didn’t pay to play early because I’m not a fan of Deck Nine and really disliked True Colors. This game felt like a better True Colors with a similar murder mystery vibe but better powers. True Colors just didn’t hold my attention; it took me over two years to finish. As for Chloe, I feel like they added more of her than expected. Maybe it’s just me, but the hype around Chloe feels overrated, especially since this is supposed to be a Max-focused game.
I agree, true colors wasn't a good game. How her powers lead to pure telepathy was beyond me. I feel the new game is pretty good so far. I think they missed the mark with chloe and Max's back story. It seems out of character for the reasons given for their break up. Max would not be the one stuck in the past.
I don’t think it’s really about the hyper around Chloe, it’s just their break up was so rushed it felt out of character. Like we aren’t saying Chloe should play a really important role or smth, but if you’re going to make them break up (which already hurts) then at least do it well
@@Stana999 everytime i booted it up i got 10 mins in and just couldn't continue. i also did not like before the storm so i guess im just not a deck nine fan. ii did enjoy the new game but maybe thats just the max fan in me lol
For hearing how they butchered and killed Max and Chloe connection is a HUGE reason why I'm not going to play the game. It's soooo disrespectful as a huge fan of the first game
4:06 What I hate about that is everything is tied to one setting. You make several hairs, outfits, etc. Then you bind them all to one setting? Would it be that hard to have just made a pick hair color, clothes, shoes, etc. There was always something I didn't like about a set. The hair color, the normal outfit, or the outdoor one. Who sat down and thought that was a good idea?? It's a minor thing, but as she's the main character we're going to be looking at the whole time I'd say it's fairly big.
Omg yesssss!!!!!!!!! I was so damn confused and upset how they did the outfits! We should have been able to choose a hair color separate from the inside and outdoor outfits! It made no sense for her to have 1 color hair on outside scenes, But a completely different color hair for inside scenes! Really sucks too cuz I loved some of the outfits and hair colors, Jus made no sense how they did it....
By the end, safi was so unlikable and unsympathetic that i was thinking, well this is going to be a much easier decision at the end. Let her die, done.
LiS1 is still worth to play, like the video says this is made by completely different writers and devs so just pretend it doesn't exist. It's like if they tried to make a sequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy starring Frodo.
Game for the first 4 episodes was really good, but EP 5 is where it becomes a mess. If you really are on the fence about it after hearing what is said here you can always wait it out for a sale and try it then. Some are just mad with Deck Nine choice on how they handled Chloe and all. I personally liked majority of it and a good chunk of others as well.
Life is strange 2 underrated just wanted to put that in. Life is strange double exposure was ok. shouldn't have broken up chloe and max. The new romances sucked too. the plot was weak as hell.
knew it was going to be horrible. Life is strange 1 was the best and life is strange 2 was good. Life is strange Colors started falling from there. I’m glad I gave up on the series. They started leaning toward pleasing the lgbt rather than focusing on the story.
A good breakdown. There was no ripple effect like in Life is Strange when Max entered the photos... So now I am wondering if Max actually shot Sofia. Maybe the studio forgot how her powers worked, I do not know. 🤷🏾♂️
I’m still in refund window but is it really that bad? I’m a bit blinded by nostalgia for the first games and all I could look up for the last year was playing double exposure
Yeah, this game is disgraceful. It's a disgusting, vile pile of garbage. The HAVE to disown this repulsive crap asap. Square Enix need to bring back Don'tNod immediately, retcon this garbage from existence and make an actual sequel to the original, and ban DeckNine from memory. Otherwise this franchise is dead forever.
@reaperz5677 because it didn't feel like a well-thought-out story anymore in my opinion... You might have had a different experience, however, I am a huge fan of LiS and really wanted to like this game. I actually did until the end of chapter 3. But the moment Safi was back, things were rushed, the choices didn't have impact anymore, etc
honestly the people wanted the way where the comic took the road. The line where chloe survived. I just can't see max with someone else than chloe. she belongs to chloe, not some randome guy/girl named Vhin or amanda. didnt feel any of them
In my opinion it is not bad at all, people just collectively have decided to hate on it because of each other, before playing I didn't see any reviews or anything, I'd give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. Love the graphics and music also.
Imo UE 5 isn't unoptimized engine most of developers just doesn't know how to optimize it correctly and instead of optimizing they put dlss fsr and other shit just to not optimize it
I agree with absolutely everything stated in this video. I thought I was the only one that thought this game was extremely underwhelming and absolutely hated Safi’s character and decision making
i wanted to like it and there are some good sides, but im still overall so confused? what even happened? what was the ending? why did max (apparently) kill safi? even for a dream sequence, i cant make any sense of it.. not to mention the ”important” choices(that ultimately have little impact)
The fact that so many people apparently didn't grow as people at all since the OG game out and still like Chloe and ship her with Max has been mind-boggling.
Fr. Can people just get over Chloe? She died. Boo hoo. She wasn't even that great of a friend and she treated her mom horribly but since we were kids we got blinded by "omg lesbian friendship" But now? Seriously, grow up.
The game isnt bad in terms of Max being around and in terms of graphics and animations. The rest of the game is just lacking alot and rather disappointing. The story feels rushed, very unfinished and the ending is just confusing. Is it that hard to create a good long story with meaningful choices like the first game? Does nobody do playtests with real people anmore? And releasing the good two first chapters in early access so streamers can spread the hype, only to to find 3 more worse chapters is kinda scummy...
I loved it, I just miss how the first few games had so many more different scenes/places. With the newer games, you just bounce back and forth between the same few places
For a game that was advertised as a murder mystery, the game left it very open how Safi actually died. I mean, somehow Max must have done it when she traveled back in time with Safi and the storm (how tf did that even work?), but when that happened in the game, she threw away the gun and no one was killed. So how did Safi die in Chapter 1? I seriously don’t get it.
Safi felt like a Chloe copycat, with Nathan vibes. She literally has the same backstory as Nathan! Both come from Riches, have a parent that pushes them to a breaking point, and mentally not right in the head.
Yes!!!!
Omg actually💀
Pretty much but since this adds time travel and dimensional travel its a problem

@Digdigwuhu Episode 5 was weird. It's like a Marvel movie now, setting up for another project instead of telling the story now.
idk i actually liked episodes 5 ending :)
@@AcAlvin I finished the game yesterday and it was just kind of blank I honestly don’t really know what to think about it. You can see that the ending was just there as a cash grab but idk it’s like the saying we enjoyed the journey but the destination was meh 🫤 I don’t really know tbh
Damn that's crazy I was thinking about buying it.. I guess not.
I finished the game last night but I didn't feel like I *beat* the game lmao. That was the least satisfying end to a game I have ever played.
gotta agree with that, chapter 5 and the ending was shit but the first 4 chapters were pretty good, had interesting plots
Is there Warren in the game?
@@aseltas.yes but only in one irrelevant text message max gets at the end of the game
@ nothing wrong with that, you opinion isn’t invalid, just seems weird seeing that this game is the same length as the other ones
@@pilot.sergio4I beat the game in 5 hours, I don’t know if I wasn’t exploring enough but that’s crazy. It felt shorter then Before the Storm
@ took me about 8 hours for me because I was trying to go for all the achievements.
I don't even like Chloe but she's more developed than what the fuck the latest game is
I think the game would be better if Safi were the protagonist and the mystery was discovering why her friend Maya committed suicide.
Wait did you just make the game 100% better? Lol
I thought this too! The story was so frustrating idk what they were thinking.
yeah it wouldve been better
Writers always find a way to make the LORE more interesting for a story than the plot, safi meeting Max as a new student WOULD be more interesting than mentioning Chloe and past characters
@@silverwind3766 Now this is better
@@kerryvictoria3980 exactly. the game had so much detail everywhere that told you about characters and the story if you paid attention
"established lore"
Dontnod was still involved in Life is Strange 2.

I think this game can be summed up as disappointing. Life is strange 2 did a better service to Arcadia bay then this game
Lis 2 is trash stfu
Bromance piece of dogsht
Can't disagree. Bitter sweet for sure.
Well they hate Chloe.
Rachel Amber had ZERO screentime on the 1st game but she’s 10Xs more interesting than Safi
So real 💀
uhh did you watch before the storm or something? her face was shown, she had a whole ass story of her own, what are u talking about? oh and shes more interesting because shes Chloes love interest, u know how everbody is with chloe right?

I dont even Understand my ending! HAHA Max went to the bar spoke to everyone Safi never showd up and that was it! Roll credits. I have never been so confused
Episodes 1-3 felt like a different storyline than 4-5. From murder mystery to Safi being a b*tch and Max being obsessed with her but trying to stop her. It felt like 2 different games tbh.
This ending is trying to be the avengers / marvel movie very much the most confusing ending in the game
I thought there were more endings
Gwen was my only favorite character, I feel like she was enjoyable to listen to, and her character seems so genuine and misunderstood.
Yeah Gwen and Moses were the only 2 characters I was actually invested in tbh

Deck9 forgot the powers aren't the focus in these games.
All they had to do was say Chloe was away and they were doing long distance relationship during the events of this game and woulda saved them from the Pricefield backlash. But nothing was gonna save this game cause the story is just not there, even the Save Bay ending players have expressed frustrations with this story.
This means we cannot romance Amanda / Vinh (unless Max wants to cheat).

We went from 20$ for the first game to 50 to 80$. That is just abhorent.
You could also get the first game in parts. Like if you didn’t like chapter 1 you could just stop and save money
You captured all my disappointment for this game, being a fan of this franchise, it hurts that I totally agree with you.
Same....ive waited patently for so long and paid 80 dollars.......and ALL i really wanted....was to see chloe....God I miss her
I think alderman was a very good, but wasted and underused character. Should've been the villain, 100 percent agree, he was well acted and had an interesting story that sadly went nowhere 😢
RIP Detective Vincent Alderman. He was NOT a Good Person.
Doesn't even know or understand what truly happened to that poor man anyway lol
I actually found the story not nearly as bad as most other, but I agree, he should have been the main villain instead of lucas and lucas should have been a side villain instead.
At the end of chapter 5 i thought maybe this "peaceful" ending was gonna fall apart like the darkroom scenes in LiS 1 but it just ends with max giving a little speach? And thats it? Like what
me 2
Well... it's an open ending. That's kinda how they work?
Honestly they probably should have picked the "Save Arcadia Bay" ending as the canon for game 1 and then made the story about Chloe somehow coming back to life, or maybe Max finding Chloe again on the alternate reality while investigating Safi's murder and trying to connect with her again.
ikr? thats what i thought!
That was what i was hoping for when the limelines started to merge together. I was thinking a Chloe from the other timeline could still be alive, and show up at the very end of the game. Now that would be a cliffhanger.
Nope, Save Chloe canon. The end. :DDD
Instead of the ending with diamond it should have been max getting a call from chloe and her realizing she merged the arcadia bay timelines too
Bringing back Chloe would just undo the entire story of the first game lmao. It was over. They never should have made a direct sequel. That's why they made this crappy game to begin with, because people just wanted more, instead of something new.
First game: Max can’t change fate. It has to happen or the consequences will be worse so she has to accept it
Double exposure: Max says “nah I’d win” to fate and decides to completely go against it with zero consequences aside from safi becoming magneto lmao
It also left many unanswered questions.
I don't blame destiny for not liking Chloe tbh
I had to sludge through BTS.. My god

Anytime a franchise is handed over from one company to another, there’s a huge chance it will fail.
Tbh True Colors and Before the Storm were much better than this and also made by Deck Nine
Before ths storm imo captured the same magic as the original game so it's proven that both studios know how to make good games. But idk the last 2 games imo have sucked bad.
@@chrisose4585 Good thing this one is successful!

What in the actual Shaka brah HAPPENED to goddamn Detective Alderman. Dude about caught Max but that man got vanish to the void for the sake of storyline that going nowhere lol
Oh yeah and Yasmin still got shot no matter what you choose so I TRY SO HARD AND GOT SO FAR, IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER 😢😢
Agreed, this game was incredibly disappointing to me
I agree with you about the mockery. This game is mockery of every aspect of LiS1:
1. They decided to do the best friend's victims relationship with a teacher but fluked so badly it doesn't have impactful impression (Safi-Maya-Lucas) (Chloe-Rachel-Mark)
2. The storm is not as terrifying in LiS1; nobody dies or missing by the storm that supposedly killed a town, but here it's just making a nightmare
3. The nightmare sequence didn't feel creepy as original; in original all Max's insecure and choices are reflected by the nightmare that she feels remourse and unsure about her power and its consequences. Here it just trying to save people and fix them, and no consequences of her new power (merging two timelines with no consequences? Big no)
Overall the game was a cash cow for players only with no impactful taste, the choices are singular (no matter what you choose, its always the same), no character development for each new characters, the plotholes that so bad that the games even didn't explain, and the old characters didn't get their own justice. I give it 2/10
Thanks for your review on game! What a shame honestly. Guess i wont buy this time. Cheers
@@chilledllama8830 I think the game is worth it on sale, but not full price. Or at least worth watching someone else's playthrough.
@@chilledllama8830 Spend it on Dontnod's next game "Lost Records". 😃
I really wanted to see more of Loretta her character design is so pretty, and I agree It was kinda weird how they made Safi kinda evil at the end
@@sikorilzcx4513 same, thats what im thinking also. Ill just wait for sale.
All of this over a book 😂
The story was shallow.
Ironically the Life is Strange comic series is a much better sequel to the original game.
And Detective Alderman just vanish into the void for this mess lol
Right! Alot of it seems soo off and odd, I mean for Christ sake! There's only 21 entries in the diary....it all seems HELLA rushed....I miss chloe 😢
@ not to mention the journal looks horrible… the art style is so lifeless
@@seraphitella2466 yeah I'm still really depressed about it, I miss chloe man
Honestly, i feel like it started kinda strong. but then they fell off in the end story wise.
I love how it all started with hate because of Pricefield break up and now basically almost 3/4 of community doesn't have good opinion about it😂
And it would have been so easy to fix! Just have Chloe on tour with her band as a reason why she isn't in the game. Heck, they could have made money selling Chloe band merch to the Pricefield fans.
It really goes to show how much they genuinely hate Chloe when it even eclipses making money.
@kjh23gk and guess who will be blamed that game doesn't sell good
Sometimes I forget Chloe isn't dead for everyone lmao
Imo Safi just felt like another Chloe.
a less interesting Chloe
I went through all of the confusion in the beginning trying to solve the murder mystery just for the plot to go that way
*Spoilers* -----5:37 I agree that the Moses character should have been written better and included much more in the plot.
The comics do more justice than the games, I highly recommend you guys read them
the ending was so forgettable i already forgot how it ended
so basically, uhh, max and uhh, whats her name, uhh, ah fuck I forgot too.
Yeah I can tell you're pissed! I thought the game was wack too. Disappointed 😞
Episodes 1-3 felt like a different story than 4-5. From murder mystery to Safi being a b*tch and trying to stop her. It felt like 2 different games.
Chloe without Max is like Shaggy without Scooby Doo lol or Spongebob without Patrick.
I 100% agree with you this game is so boring, messy, and soulless I never ever want to see Max again after all this
Thank God I didn't pay full price on this slop... That's why I don't buy games on launch in 2024, unless they're from Rockstar* Games or Capcom...
I could write a better story, that uses references from the first game. For example Max could work full time as a truck driver (first game had Max talk to a truck driver) and part time photographer. She sees weird shit driving trucks and trying to solve a murder mystery or finding a missing person (Chloe goes missing) while on the road.
Ever listen to the podcast Alice Isn't Dead? basically it is that same premise.
This sounds like fanfic tier writing.
They should've let don't nod make it instead of deck nine
Yeah but don't nod developers said a long while ago that max and Chloe's story is done and that they won't make any more games with them as the protagonists and that whatever happens to them later is upto the player's choice and imagination.. They said they're done with their story because they'd have to disrespect one of the endings and that's not the point of this game but oh well it's literally what d9 had done in this game and it's pathetic
@lovui_ri true regardless of everything they ruined in this one, its still somewhat better than True Colors
"I want my goddamn money back" I FELT that
I feel like the developers thought if they made it a normal murder mystery and have the game be about Max finding out who did it (as we all thought it was going to be about) that it would be boring or predictable. Instead, they started a bunch of incomplete plots that caused more confusion than anything and left a lot unfinished. (Gwen being fired, Yasmin being fired, romances between Diamond/Moses Vinh/Reggie, what happened to the detective, what was the purpose of Abraxas besides a knockoff Vortex Club)
I would’ve been fine with a fully fleshed out murder mystery regardless of that seeming cliche
0:37 That's already enough reason for me to not buy this game.
Like we aren’t saying Chloe should play a really important role or smth, but if you’re going to make them break up (which already hurts) then at least do it well
I’m with you on True colours lol took me about the same amount of time to complete as I just wasn’t as interested in it.
I was so disappointed, a big LIS fan too... :( man... the worst one!
By the end, safi was so unlikable and unsympathetic that i was thinking, well this is going to be a much easier decision at the end. Let her die, done.
I just started life is strange 1 and this is disappointing to hear since this game is a direct sequel to it
Wait for Lost Records instead, that game is made by the LIS1 creators
Honestly, the Life Is Strange graphic novel series is an infinitely better sequel to LiS 1 than this game is.
Nah don't listen to it this game is fucking fantastic
Get your money back, I wish I could
Yeah get the refund
@@Bliss-l1t well I thought true colors was lame but still played it and I nacer refund games, soooo whatevs
Safi (both as a character and her Magneto-like vision) was unbearable, I do fw Moses though. And the ending was horrendous. that's about it.
Holy fuck what an overreaction
@@Ash-uf4fv Hahahahah right 😭
That's absolutely right
It would have been better if they had told the story of what happened after the storm.
This game is about alternate timelines and that’s what I consider this game a bad alternate timeline
After chapter 3 it just started feeling like a fanfic ...
Life is Strange has ALWAYS been a fanfic. Especially the first game. Not sure why this is a complaint lol.
She died. Boo hoo. She wasn't even that great of a friend and she treated her mom horribly but since we were kids we got blinded by "omg lesbian friendship"
But now? Seriously, grow up.
Thanks. You saved me wasting my money
I agree with every single word you said, I have felt the same way progressing throughout the game, I’m truly disappointed
Your biggest mistake, following this series after the first game
I loved it, I just miss how the first few games had so many more different scenes/places. With the newer games, you just bounce back and forth between the same few places
The game is literally unplayable on PC. If you can't make it playable on most PCs then dont have it as an option on PC
Early access releases in deluxe editions is a practice that needs to die off, and not be missed. It should never have been a thing.
It had a good start then it became a shitty ending. The plot lost itself.
look how pretty max is though, im surprised they didnt concorded her face
7:11 got a proper laugh out of that description 😂
I agree with everything you say I finished the game about 20 mins ago and can't stop thinking how bad that was. Huge disappointment!
Life is Strange: Double Prolog That's how it feels
For a game that was advertised as a murder mystery, the game left it very open how Safi actually died. I mean, somehow Max must have done it when she traveled back in time with Safi and the storm (how tf did that even work?), but when that happened in the game, she threw away the gun and no one was killed. So how did Safi die in Chapter 1? I seriously don’t get it.
And why almost every Lis games last chapter is some hallucination trip through time or traumas. It feels like a cheap way to do one more chapter
