How TRUE!! You’re Father would be every so proud!!! Next, he would be ever so grateful how you both took his vision plus hard-work to create many of his dreams to become a reality!!!!
You should take the back door approach to the mayor and include him in one of your videos with a welcome drink and show him what you have done so far and your hopes for the future... - maybe then, he will realize you have an audience which might also = maybe sway them just a bit...
I was thinking about these videos and possible influence to get the plans flowing smoothly, inviting them to give full support with brilliant ideas for adjustments that you love. Talk to the church leaders, and see what’s up there too, invite them too in a tour.
How cool would it be see a sculpture of your dog at the entrance like a Phinx in tribute to life of your friend your family pet. Take a pole with the viewers. Shame of corruption in the small town your Papi had great ideas.
Daphne, your hair is so naturally gorgeous! We have similar texture, and I recently learned of the coolest trick ever, the bamboo bristle brush (for natural curls) which you can use even dry for gorgeousness with no frizz. I wish I had known my entire life! Not sponsored, just another human helping my neighbors. The one I'm using is Bass brand. Life changing, I tell you! Also, the repair work you and Ian have done on the exterior the last two videos is outstanding!! Trades perfect that technique over a period of time and you should be very proud of yourselves, indeed. It is looking amazing!
It's coming together so beautifully! And I'm majorly impressed by the stone repair. You would never know it was damaged! It's fun to see Benoit again, too!
Shame about the Mairie disallowing the staircase. Happily you have other options. Benoit will sort it. He was really into the mushroom hunting. Who would’ve guessed it.😂
I adore how you two work, play, and support one another. This is the reason your home looks so stunning!!! Benoit helps out too with his master skills!! SCHROOMS? DUDE!!
In my mind I imagine your Grandfather watching you on this journey. All the hard work and challenges all the effort and frustrations… but most wonderfully of all, your laughter and fun you have along the way. The discoveries you make and everything new you learn… he would find the entirety of it a precious experience for you and for him to see. I am a new grandmother…. and now I understand why he left you the Château. It seemed at first perhaps something he loved but could not let go of. It could be seen as selfish to leave you this burden, but actually is a great gift, challenging and a true adventure. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.
Bonjour Daphne and Ian, the drone shots are beautiful as always, I hope Benoit can help you with designs for the Hunter's cottage, that wouldn't need permitting, or may help push the committee your way. The bathroom is going to be beautiful. Love from N.Y.
love the dog's "sphinx-like" pose...this was one of my fav videos, it had stone work, you two being wonderful working together, Benoit and his carpentry skills as well as his passion for mushrooms, etc.
That is so sad someone took your grandfather's plans and monetized from them. The bathroom is looking amazing. You both have challenged yourselves and are doing great. That repair on the stones looks so good. ❤
Behind in my to do list for today, head deep in paperwork and I get a notification for a new video. What do I do? The most sensible thing. Take a break and watch the video of course. Loved it!
Sorry to hear about the plans not getting approval. Your counter and sink is so chic. Shower looks like hard work. The tiles are so large. Oh yes and the work you did on the outside stones turned out wonderful. You should be proud.
Wow, I knew of ivy's destructive property as my late husband removed it from our house, but that is astounding. Yes, Ian your patching and masonry (?) is amazing. Well isn't Benoit a wonder, mushroom hunter too! Intersting that one collectors with two baskets and that you can bring your harvest to a Pharmacist for verification. I don't think we have that here in Canada. And, listen to you, Ian, your French is coming along nicely 😊 Ahahahaha you work so well together in close quarters.
Thank you! 🥰 Hopefully we can go mushroom hunting in our forest when Benoit comes back for our next project! We have seen beautiful mushrooms on our forest walls but we have not tried verifying them for consumption yet. We will definitely try it this year🍄
Thank you! We are planning on having a large electric mirror but using an old frame on it to keep the natural feel in the room. Hopefully it turns out like we want 🤞
Beautiful progress. Very exciting. Your stonework repair is superb. I have restored many historic homes with nothing but headaches from the historic planning commission, Historic society, City and county inspectors etc, all while paying architects, Contractors, artisans of every craft but in the end of each project I was triumphant except once when I completely was forced to demolish an early 19th century coach house all because of time restrictions. Your doing a great job, Blessings.
If I was your grandpa I would have called foul on having my plans turned down only to sell and have the exact same plans approved for someone else. The chateau is really coming along! I haven't checked the progress in a while!
I can't stress enough the enjoyment your videos bring me. The production quality, the humour, your guys vision is just amazing. Thank you for posting :))
The shop is looking legit lovelly! I like the music in the background puts me in a shopping mood..(it would be nice for your shop to have similar music in the background while shopping..)
Stunning tiles for that shower!!!! I have been getting into the idea of a backlit onyx shower wall and then glass on the other side so it can be lit most of the time!!!! That duct tape isn't all that it's cracked up to be!!!!
awww that was so cute when you guys were laughing about who will test the toilet...lol too funny. You guys are so cute.... I can say that because I am old enough to be your parents. Thank you for taking us on this wonderful journey.❤
Hello Daphne and Ian! Kudos, great job for all the hard works! Can't wait to see the full competition of the bathroom! Glad to see Grannie and Benoit! Cute doll house! Grandpa's ideas were so great that even the "neighbors" implemented his ideas. Oh and Sphinx Archeae hehe... Love her! And, Ian should definitely test out the toilet HA! Good luck for all the building permits and renovations!!!
Sounds like you need to get the church to go to bat for you. See if they have any concerns about your plans. Maybe that might smooth some ruffled feathers. Good luck.
Great work! The wood finish is most likely European Hard Wax finish. It is non toxic, easy to apply and delivers that low sheen warm looking finish that is popular now. It is also easy to repair! Just a light scuff sand and a new coat and let it cure. Most often this product is used for floor finishes, but in my shop we have now used it with success on many pieces of furniture. Well known brands are Rubio and Osmocoate. It's kind of expensive stuff so we try to not over do it with heavy coats that end up in the rag. Word to the wise remember the wet rags can spontaneously combust so wet e'm down when you're done with water!' Best, Brian A Masters Touch
I’m so sorry to hear about the trouble your grandpa and you both have had getting plans approved. :( Your bathroom walls look gorgeous!! So nice to see you with Benoit again! I love him! Hope things get easier for you!! Love from Mary in Southern California 💗
I'm curious as to why you're having difficulty with the approvals. Is the chateau a listed monument as well as historical? Similarly, is the church a listed monument? If so, what is the distance between the church and the chateau? I'm aware of other situations in which properties within 500 meters of a listed monument cannot be changed. Like I said, my curiosity is piqued. 🤨 My property in the south of France is also a historic property. I had to go through quite a few hoops to gain approval for the exterior restoration.
Funny about Benoit and the mushrooms. That is what my sister in law does for a living up in the mountains up around north Georgia… foraging and mushroom picking. I don’t eat mushrooms and can’t edit when she starts with the shrooms😂. Another great viseo
Sometimes, just getting a lawyer in the field involved for advice and a little email here and there to the planning committee makes the difference. It costs money but those people know what arguments work.
Your Grandfather would be proud of your renovations.
How TRUE!! You’re Father would be every so proud!!! Next, he would be ever so grateful how you both took his vision plus hard-work to create many of his dreams to become a reality!!!!
Ian’s French is improving. Well done

I have been anxiously awaiting for another episode. I’m a newbie and I love everything about your channel, the photography is phenomenal.
Thank you so much! It makes us so happy to know people are enjoying our videos! It really is our motivation 🥰 Many more videos to come!
This is the most cinematic of all the chateau shows I watch, and I watch A LOT. Kudos to you!
@@MicheleSarko-ov5eh Agree. Their videos are never long enough and never often enough😔
Me 2, I watched hours and hours till there was no more lol.
You definitely need two dog/sphinx statues for that porch area. ❤
How cool would it be see a sculpture of your dog at the entrance like a Phinx in tribute to life of your friend your family pet. Take a pole with the viewers. Shame of corruption in the small town your Papi had great ideas.
The chateau is breathtaking and the drone footage makes it look magnificent. So beautiful.

You two are fantastic 🎉
Thank you! We appreciate you joining us for our little adventures 😊
I can’t believe you edited out 5 minutes of Benoit being a fun-guy!|
Good luck with your ongoing planning adventures.
We have loads of extra footage of Benoit being hilarious 😜
It's coming together so beautifully! And I'm majorly impressed by the stone repair. You would never know it was damaged! It's fun to see Benoit again, too!
The green stone tile in the bathroom is stunning! Well done you two❤
Thank you! It’s not quite finished yet! We are excited to add the final touches 😊
Shame about the Mairie disallowing the staircase. Happily you have other options. Benoit will sort it. He was really into the mushroom hunting. Who would’ve guessed it.😂
just finished a 12 hour shift at work and saw the beau chateau just uploaded life's
amazing :)
Sounds like you’ve earned some solid down time for today 👍 Keep up your hard work!
Wow! Your grandpa was quite the imagineer! I know he'd be exceptionally proud of you ❤
Cannot wait to see the bathroom finished! Great effort by you both.
Thank you! We are so close! And once we’re finished we can start on our next big project!
Thank you for actually repairing the stone wall properly. Your protecting it from Infiltration. And it looks beautiful. Great job.
I love that you don't shy away from French conversations. I love listening. Can't understand, but you take care of that. And I do love Benoit.
You both have good energy
Archaea’s regal pose is perfect to immortalise her as a part of your journey and place in the chateau’s history! Do a fundraiser!!!
Your stone repair is aMAzing! I didn't know there were specialty products like that one.
Love Benoit .. such a nice person helping out. And stunning reforms all so tasteful … 😅😅
I adore how you two work, play, and support one another. This is the reason your home looks so stunning!!! Benoit helps out too with his master skills!! SCHROOMS? DUDE!!
Missed your videos

Beautiful......Chateau. & both your Hard Work is Incredible.
Love from New Delhi, India.
Sometimes I can't believe you two. Amazing effort!
Truly delightful, Daphne & Ian!
Rikki Biermann, Pretoria, South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you, Rikki ☺️
Wouldnt it be amazing if you got statues of her for that spot as your addition to the chateau 😊
Our moat sphynx actually lost its face and needs renovating, so maybe we should make it a face like Archaea’s 😄
@@TheBeauChateauthat would be an awesome idea!

Ian should test the throne to make sure it passes approvable. Great job.
So glad your back. I love this channel! You two are doing a great job in your restoration.

Awesome finishing of stone works!!!
Thank you 😊
Toto toilets are the best! We miss ours when we travel!!! I’m not kidding!! IYKYK!
J'apprécie beaucoup votre travail...bravo ! Et le fait que vous parliez aussi bien le français....à très bientôt...

Maybe you could frame his plans and hang them

The sink and wooden shelf symbiosis is flawless. Intrigued for a final result!

Fantastic repair to the stone work, well done guys.
You guys are fearless… that tile would give me pause, for sure! Beautiful!❤
The sink and counter are amazing. Total bathroom sink envy. Thank you for sharing, love your videos.
Love watching two work side by side. The bathroom is looking amazing 😊
GORGEOUS bathroom so far!!! Are you both always so happy and playful??? Be safe and GOD BLESS 🙏
Benoit making the dollhouses for every child who wants one 🥺
The exterior stone repair work looks fantastic! Good job.
What a good room with all that tile 😊
Aahah, rock-bolting, a mining technique. The entry is really beautiful in that light.
It's my favorite video and Benoit too- who could ask for more. The bathroom is looking lovely. Best Wishes for you plan approval.
