- Enjoy the sound of some Group C prototypes I recorded with my Binaural microphone while racing at Spa-Francorchams circuit during the 2017 Spa Classic event. Hope you like it!

-- What the hell is a 3D/Binaural recording? --
Binaural recordings are reproductions of sound the way human ears hear it. Traditionally, recordings have been made using mono or stereo. Mono uses a single microphone while stereo uses two, spaced apart from each other. Binaural recording takes the stereo method one step further by placing two microphones approximately at the same average distance that exists between one and the other human ear.
To recreate the best effect you must put the microphones in your ears or by using a "dummy head" (wherein a mannequin head is outfitted with a microphone in each ear) because having a real head or a head shape that separates the two microphones is what makes the magic works. In fact if a car passes on your left side the sound will take a few extra microseconds to reach the right ear and it will also be louder in one ear (left) than the other. This is caused by the fact we have a thick skull and spongy brain between the two ears and sound waves interact with the physical constitution of the listener and the surrounding space.

I love listening to the section of video starting around the 9:57 mark.💕👂 The vast variety of engines represented in Group C is really showcased by your 3D Binaural video. I will also add, the video quality is very nice. Starting around 1:44 , to my eyes, the exposure was perfect.👌 I know just about zero about videography, but I love shooting photos under condtions like these... an overcast day with loads of lumpy gray clouds really make those colors pop. Excellent choice of composition as well.👍 10 of 10 from my computer and headphones. Have a great day!

It's nuts how the turbo cars are louder with headphones on but extremely muffled without them. The sound of the C11s and 962s is much, much bassier. Absolutely takes over everything else.

Beautiful! Too bad that C11 was never alone on camera. It might not be the loudest car (still think it must be pretty loud), but for me (of course with the C9) it is the best sounding one of the Group C era.
Neawoulf it's for sure one of the best sounding cars i've heard. I actually had a dream last night that i randomly stepped inside of a c11 with an old man and he took me around the track, there was Traffic on the other Side of the track coming towards us. Probably my best dream ever, i can remember waking up because of the first Sharp u turn, in my dream it felt like a roller coaster. So weird but so cool.

Great variety on track. I think these binaural recordings are your best content, personally! I love the contrast, the quiet moments in between the flybys - of course even the quiet bits are full of ambience. I use these videos to help me focus on work!!

I have a friend who loves cars, but doesn’t know much about the classics. Earlier today, we got into a heated debate regarding the best sounding cars. Needless to say, I argued that the classics are infinitely better sounding than today’s cars. He went the opposite view. I won the argument by making him watch this video with headphones (he was amazed at 5:28 by the sound of the Jag). He had no idea these cars sounded that incredible. Point is, keep it coming with the old race cars!
