Jeff's understanding of harmony and the weaving of mind-bending riffs and insane solo passages within those progressions, while keeping everything fresh and super metal is unlike anything I've heard... Amazing!
I seriously can't stop listening to this, it really shows how much Jason Becker influenced him, the whole thing is oozing Becker, and I LOVE that! Definitely one of the best modern day shredders right here! /,,/
+deanml1986 hell yeah he is, he's like what happens when you throw together becker, malmsteen and maybe a bit of friedman and petrucci... something like that anyways lol whatever he is, he's a monster of a player. i'd agree this one definitely screams becker though lol love jeffs work
@@sackson2025 Umm.... better than Friedman sure, better than Becker? 1. you can't even judge that kinda thing cause Becker can't play anymore and 2. No. Just no, Becker is up with Shawn Lane for being a man that sold his soul to the devil. If Becker was still playing today Loomis wouldn't stand a chance in hell of comparing. Becker was literally a pillar of the shred scene, I've seen Loomis perform several times and he's always a bit sloppy. Jason has NEVER EVER EVER had a sloppy performance. Consider me triggered lol, don't compare people to Becker. Becker was a literal god, Loomis is just one of the greatest guitarists alive. Nothing compared to Becker's godhood status.
@@sackson2025 Even Loomis would be pissed at you saying that he's better than Jason Becker. Becker was in a league of his own. Definitely better than Friedman, though, that much I can say.
ok, that is probably some of the cleanest sweep picking i have ever heard, its as clean as jason becker's was, reminds me alot of 'Black Cat' by Cacophony. Absolutly amazing.
When your soloing is so awesome your CRUSHING and absolutely fucking EPIC RIFFAGE goes largely unnoticed. Seriously, the foundation supporting the chops is every bit as impressive as the leads.
It really reminds me a lot of Vinnie Moore's early pieces. Still a stratospheric performance and sound!!! One of the few modern guitarists who does not limit himself to pure technical virtuosity! Gradissimo Loomis!
Another great song, well the entire album is beyond amazing!Listen to it everyday!! this album has so much Cacophony,Marty Friedman Influence besides having him on Mercurial. years not over, but its my #1...I doubt anything will top it....for me!!
Damn I miss my guitar.. It's at my dad's. AH dammit I'm gonna cry myself to death. This kills me.It's too good.So much inspiration in such little times and bits.Dang.Just brilliant.Amazing Jeff Loomis.
His string skipping at 4:25 (for instance) is amazing, just like Paul Gilbert. Jeff must have some of the best technique that I've ever seen (similar to John Petrucci and aforementioned Mr Gilbert). Better song writer than the average guitar masturbator as well (and believe me, I've listened to a lot of them). Extremely impressive!
Glad to hear the combination of tension from nevermore's influence and melodic from Jason Becker. This is amazing and an original. Only foolish people will compare both of them.
Don't feel like that dude! Whenever I see something like this, it gives me incredible amounts of motivation :) I saw Attila playing live twice(from the first row, f'yeah), and it shocked me, how insanely talented He is (not to mention, what a cool, and funny guy he is). If I ever get the chance to see Mr. Loomis play from that distance, the ambulance will have to give me somethin' against overdosing :D
To end this endless discussion about who is better, Andy or Jeff? Both are godlike! Playing guitar is no sport! And music is no god damn competition!!!
Only man to ever make Chris Broderick his rhythm player lol
2003JrF4i true that hahaha .
that's one way to put it lol
Never heard of Christian Muenzner?
Spacesonia i don't think münzner ever played with broderick?
I say, if Chris Broderick and Christian Muenzner would play together, I'm sure broderick would be the rhythm guitarist

1:23 when Jeff Loomis hear you playing guitar
Aahahahah...ahahah...hah..hah(...(((
Lol
ow, my self esteem.

deanml1986 Indeed. Only people I'd put above or around him are Luca Turilli and Michael Romeo.
Rest of 'em look like amateurs by comparison.
thrustingvoilently My two favorites, Loomis and Romeo. I love how Romeo's chubby little sausage fingers fly and produce beauty!

@@tylorcaruth2672 I think Loomis is a has a better balance of Melody and technique.
"Jason Becker is strong with this one" cit. Darth Vader
Great job, Jeff! \m/
damn, those tarantula fingers xo
I can hear so much of Jason Becker in there while at the same time a very distinctive Jeff sound... very nicely done Jeff
Goosebumps every time I listen to it.
1:24 When you know that the shit you did was pure epicness
skwisgaar skwigelf's real life counterpart
This piece is filled with beautiful cadences. Thanks Jeff for making awesome music!!
Becker,Friedman,Loomis
Zarko Stejic Their league 👍🏼
Romeo
Loomis is a slightly better player than both Becker and Friedman. Not an easy feat, a modern legend.

This makes me so happy. It's like Jason Becker with today's production quality. What a blessing. Jason's music lives on through Jeff.
I really wish he was not in Arch Enemy.... Conquering Dystopia is way more impressive
CMOOREtbay easy money
Dude, he is still in conquering dystopia
Is conquering dystopia a progressive metal band?
@@alexilaiho8534 yes, it has progressive stuff
Jeff Becker
Hamza Benki He is Jeff Becker
lol
I can't believe no-one mentions Jeff's flawless technic! It's perfect! I can only imagine if their was ever a demon playing guitar it is Jeff Loomis!
1:24... "They think they could one day play like me" - Jeff's thoughts

I love to see how he smiles enjoying his amazing playing.
That bend at about 3:43 gets me every damn time! It's like the guitar screams out at you!

@@TheOverloadxRsps lmao they completely ruined Loomis tbvh
This is absolutely phenomenal!
This man is incredible
There's a definite Jason Backer-y flair to it!!

great run by Jeff ! Such passion! La sang et la rose.
the song, the playing the smile Jeff gives made me love it more :')
Amazingly sick. I love that part.
This is so musical. I have been away from shredding a couple of years, but this piece is reviving some of that will. :D
Awesome Jeff Loomis!!!
It really reminds me a lot of Vinnie Moore's early pieces. Still a stratospheric performance and sound!!!

His guitar playing will be our method of communication when we get first contact with extraterrestrial life.
Amazing lead player and truly inventive with melody and shred!
Holy shit... Been listening to Arch Enemy and Nevermore for years and never saw this beast's solo work. Fuck this shit.
Great stuff. I've been a fan for a long time.👍
I can't get over how much the beginning sounds like Cacophony's speed metal symphony. The rest is awesome though
Cynical Metal he is Jeff Becker
Ethan Fair You nailed it man!! Good ear!
THIS IS REALLY GOOD ! HE IS KILLING IT!!!!
Nice, another video which I can stalk every day at least once!
Those ending arpeggios are nothing short of majestic.
that laugh at 1:24 makes this song even more EPIC!
Look at him play that like a classical guitar. I give him all of my love.
A truly amazing player!
This is why me and all my friends regard Jeff Loomis as the master of the guitar.

I like that he keeps his studio clean......and he practices....
THAT. WAS. AMAZING. I can now die in peace
Incredible!
Holy shit, Jeff Loomis is my new favourite. Love it
this is probably the best instrumental song I have ever heard. This has destroyed my expectations of even Loomis himself
I love they way he does his diminished arpeggios by string skipping...reminds me of paul gilbert
