I was issued that same backpack and took it all around the world throwing it around and even threw wet and sandy swim fins in it at the beach and ran it thru the washing machine maybe once a year. Used it ALOT for over 10 years. It was such a reliable pack, I replaced it with the exact same one again. Super high quality!!!
Add some wooden rat traps for food acquisition a spear head and frog gig head. I’d ditch the big knife carry a cold steel shovel. It makes a great axe machete self defense too plus digs like a champ
liked the video man I had a plate carrier setup for years as my go to but my thought now is plate carrier is for home and some sort of unarmored option (chest rig or belt) is for on the move, replace the weight of the plates with more ammo and sustainment.
"Delorme" a map company out of Maine, 20yrs ago use to make state maps identifying all rail and pipelines. Goid to have for bugout.. I got Michigan marked up to travel on foot all over, via rail or pipeline
@@Shepherd_Actual nice to see another one out there showing the people what's what, I noticed the formal wear and thought maybe he's apart of the same team
Map is an excellent idea I never thought about for my kit. I also have the toilet paper roll logs, you get the lint for free and the rolls too, it’s perfect. Nice video.
Outstanding Bug Out Bag, and Bug Out Kit!!! I was on the 15th MEU as well from 2007 thru 2009 and was on the USS pearl Harbor while we were underway. I Just Subscribed. Semper Fidelis Leatherneck!!!
For the plate carrier cumberbund some of those tube add ons would really help with donning/doffing quicker, amazon has different ones available from cheap to expensive and some are even magnetic lol. I would waterproof the clothing for sure and make sure I had at least one if not two metal cooking capable containers for water and such, this is the first video of yours ive seen so im not sure what all you have where 🤣. Great start tho and thanks for showing!
i might be put on a stake but temu is great for the small odds and ends for cheap like a Fresnel lense and pocket bellows, along with organizational items like battery cases
No way this is a bug out bag. If it is items should be things that never expire. 1) Fire - Flint / Steal - Tin to create char cloth it will last forever (lighter for a while) 2) Protectection from bugs. You have none. Tent or hammock system (Dan durston is a good light tent) 3) Water Purifyer not filter (First need is the best expensive though) Straw is garbage they break Full size sawyer 4) If you wear glasses 2 more pairs in a hard case. The pack I do not really like at all because packs should fit you I run Kuiu but some run kifaru a back needs to be adjust but to each his own. Your concentrating more on killing then moving quiet. Last thing you want is to engage.
Its not a bad start and a pretty good "lite" BoB really. Not much in the way of long term survival but would be good if you are using it to get to a bug out location where you have cached your main supplies. I also fully agree with your last comment, single person bug out should be all about stealth. If you are getting in a fight you've efed up.
Shepard thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and approach.

Establish a med kit as well. Not too big, but a small one you can fit inside your bag.
