Thank you so much for watching and I am glad it can help! It is great these are both great options from the airport to get to Disneyland Paris and it just depends on the timing and if you want door to door service!
Just did this via the RER last week. While it takes longer than a direct TGV the transfer is super easy and you just have to cross the Platform to move from RER B to RER A at Châtelet-Les Halles. Did this with my wife and two kids and it felt super smooth. Everything is signposted really well with Disneyland clearly signposted
This is super handy to know and thank you so much for sharing your experience! It is great to have another option available to get from the airport to Disneyland Paris!
Thank you so much for watching! I hope it can be helpful! I think both offer a great service but I just love the train for the fact you are at Disney in 10 minutes!
We have always been concerned about TGV if our flight is delayed as the tickets arent transferrable, so in the past have used the disney magical express to get from the airport, but used the TGV on our return leg. Another issue we have had with the magical express is that it doesn't run very late. We fly from Belfast and quite often especially in the winter /spring seasons the flight gets in maybe 8-9pm and there is no magical shuttle running at that time so we had no choice other than a private transfer. We travel as a couple, so a private transfer, the one we use is 70euro each way, so if you have a family of 4 it works out cheaper than the magical express, and they have people carriers so can take up to 7 people. For us it costs us double the price to get to Disneyland Paris but being met at customs exit by the driver, and dropped at our hotel door, maybe 50 minutes later, in a clean comfortable vehicle, with complimentary bottle of water is worth it. After doing private transfer once we would never go back. And with disney prices, the return cost of the private transfer is the same price as an evening meal, which helps me justify the cost. Loving your vlogs on Disneyland Paris, we have been 7/8 times now, and have got our first annual pass so looking forward to a lot more visits this year. Our next visit is late September.
Yes! Pre booking the train can always be a risk as you never know if there will be delays. Luckily I was fine my last trip but I ended up waiting over an hour as I booked a train very far in advance. Next time I will buy a ticket when I arrive so I don't have to worry or hang around too long! It is such a shame the Magical Shuttle doesn't run very late! This is definitely something I found too! Thank you for sharing your experience with a private transfer! It is super helpful to know! Price wise they are great for multiple people! I hope you have the best time in September! It is always so exciting when you can say I am going to Disney next month!!
Just found your channel. Thank you for the tips! Visiting from the states going to London, Paris , and Disneyland Paris in May 2023. Trying to do as much research as I can 😊
Hi Joann! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment! Your trip sounds so exciting! I hope you have the best time in London ,Paris and Disneyland Paris! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me! It is such a charming park and has some of the best versions of the rides in any Disney Park!
@@MostMagicalGuides I will! We haven’t booked our package yet at Disneyland but my husband is a huge toy story fan so we are staying at Hotel Cheyenne. I’m thinking of doing the half-board dining plan, but trying to figure out where I want to dine at since I want to make the reservations ahead of time. We are there 4 days, 3 nights.
@@rockpaperscissorsx51 I love the Hotel Cheyenne and it is perfect for Toy Story fans! You will immediately want to be able to take the Woody shirt curtains home! I recently did a video about the best restaurants at Disneyland Paris and I hope that can help! ua-cam.com/video/s9m5kYMR7nE/v-deo.html Recently the booking timeframe for restaurants changed so some you can now book up to a year in advance once you have linked your hotel booking to the app which is amazing! Some like character dining meals are still 2 months in advance.
Hello As you said, the high speed train (TGV) prices are high, particularly when buying at the last minute. The SNCF train reservation is very simple; when the train is announced, a few months before the departure, the prices are normal, but as the train fills up, weeks after weeks, the prices increase, and the last places are VERY expensive. So as you said, everyone should preorder their train ticket in advance for no unpleasant surprises when ordering.
Thank you so much for your tips! Buying as early as you can definitely is the best option! The only downside is having to pick a time and when flying with the possibility of delays it can be risky as you may miss your train. But I try and leave a good enough gap to give myself time!
Hi! The Magical Shuttle isn't signposted in the airport itself but when you receive your confirmation email they have directions - if you follow them you will find it! I wish they did have signs up just so it is a little easier! But I have always been able to find it!
Hi! You can indeed buy them at the airport train station. Just be sure you get TGV tickets (this is the name of the high speed train) as sometimes they will sell a ticket that is actually for the local trains and it takes ages instead of 10 minutes! You can also use apps like The Trainline or buy via the SNCF website (this is the company that runs the train). I always buy my return journey ticket via The Trainline in advance as I will know what time train I want to catch. If you buy them within 2 weeks of your trip they reduce the price so this is the best time to buy! With the arrival train it can be best to wait until you are at the airport to purchase just in case there has been any delay as unfortunately you have to buy a ticket for a specific train time.
@@MostMagicalGuides Thank you for your comment! Will definitely be fine! I just have a question about the Disneyland PhotoPass. I bought these yesterday with my booking as an extra add-on. It has already been paid for, but unfortunately I have not yet received the Photopass via email. Do you perhaps know how I will have to get the Photopass?
Hi! It is exciting you have booked a trip! Unfortunately the high speed train and magical shuttle do not run that late so your best bet would be an Uber or to prebook a private shuttle. I have used Paris Disney Transfer for a few of my trips and they have always been really good! parisdisneytransfer.com/
So one of the great things about the Magical Shuttle is that it stops at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2E/2F so it is handy you could catch this from Terminal 1. Another benefit is you can catch any coach at any time, you are not restricted to a certain time. The train is handy as it is so quick at just 10 minutes. I would purchase train tickets once at the station instead of in advance as you are stuck to catching that train. I hope you have an amazing trip!
Thanks Sophie, I agree with all of this the TGV is amazing, i try and use it everytime. Sometimes the times don't line up and I've had to spend an hour at the airport waiting for the train, but even then the total journey time is quicker than the other methods. one thing I would add though is that on my return trip, my train was delayed by three hours which means i would have missed my flight. So i now check the website earlier in the day to see if I need to amend my plans. As with all Disney trips you can do it quickly or you can do it cheaply but not both. Also I have paid for the magic shuttle onboard before, is this not a thing since the closures?
It is such a shame your train was delayed so much! That must have been really stressful! It is a great tip to check the train times on your departure day to see if there are any delays so you can modify your journey if needed! The last time I used the Magical Shuttle a lady was trying to buy tickets on board but they asked her to buy off the website, which she ended up doing on her phone. So I am not sure if this is a permanent change or a temporary one.
the illumination shows/firework show scheduled around 20:55 - 21:05... but i noticed most ofthe transportations operation time ended around 20:00.. would u suggest any affordable alternative transport going late from disneyland to CDG?
It is frustrating that very early or very late travel to DLP is not as readily available! If there are multiple people in a group than a private transfer can be a good option as the cost can be divided up. I know a lot of people use Prestige Private Transfer. There are local trains / subways but it does require changing lines and can take up to 70 minutes so not always the quickest or simplest option but it can be quite cheap.
Does anybody know with the transdev magic shuttle private hire does the driver meet you with a sign and your name on it or do you have to go to the helpdesk? Thanks
This is a great question! I've not used the Magical Shuttle private transfers so don't 100% know the answer but usually all the private transfers are waiting as you exit the terminal with you name on a board, so I would imagine this would be the same as they then take you straight to their car park, which is separate to where the Magical Shuttle coach would be stationed. I have used a different private transfer company before called Paris Disney Transfer who were fantastic, always on time, really comfortable cars and great drivers. They charge €70-80e each way (depending on the size of vehicle you would like) and I would absolutely use them again and would recommend them too. parisdisneytransfer.com/
Yes! 2 weeks before travelling they reduce the price by around 50% which is fab! Definitely the way to do it! I never book my train from CDG to DLP just in case there is any delays and I've been able to book 15 minutes before the train leaves with the discount as well which is great!
