    You should build a gym just for grip strength but it would just be completely hand sized. only your hands would be able to fit in the grip gym like a doll house.

Because of this, at the end of the school year we were basically using dead skin and it was disgusting. When I saw your chalk block, I got envious and wished we had some. Get somebody else to do this with, or use hip height parallels on your rack: take 2 bars with 225 on it and hold the bar by the thick part past the weights for as long as possible, I usually do this 5-10 times in between deadlift sets. You should give it a try!

  • @derekxiaoEvanescentBliss
    @derekxiaoEvanescentBliss 4 роки тому

    In climbing we talk about the anaerobic alactic pathway a lot for training max grip strength, and this pathway can only maintain maximum strength output for 12 seconds or less. So for Max grip strength training you want to do something that requires max strength for less than 12 seconds, but close as possible. (that's what I do for hangboarding, and there are a few papers on this specific routine for crimp strength written by the creator of the transgression board)
    Specifically for crimping in climbing I do 10 seconds deadhang, 3 min rest, and repeat until I can't do 10 seconds
    (crimping on the minimum edge where I can crimp for 12-15 seconds max)

    Can you try "grip rolls" (how I named them). You do them with a normal sized rolling handle, weights and then you just open and close repeatedly. It's also a substitute for people who don't have grippers or don't have heavy grippers. And by the way don't cheat by pulling the weight up by doing a shrug or something, a static stance is needed.

    1. Overtraining the muscles that close your hands will increase injury by increasing the tension put on tendons in the wrist and elbow so working grippers will make tendinitis worse
    2. Use Hand x band... through antagonist training and working the muscles that open your hands it increases grip and relieves tension on the elbow reducing injuries such as tendinitis and carpel tunnel syndrome. Just ask Jim Stoppani...

    @Jijimufu crumple up an entire newspaper page by page with one hand. One paper per handle. My grandpa Danny Hodge did this to have the grip strong enough to crush an apple while into his late 80s with one hand

    Where I noticed my grip strength improving is when doing heavy rowing exercises and barbell shrugs.

    Is this the same guy I grew up learning tricks from over at trickstutorials? It isn't the same guy, is it? I recall some names. Taegashi, Shidosei... hmm... that's all I can recall.
    If you are, thanks for the tutorials, and hope you're doing well in life.
