A Pretty Good Piece of End Game Armor - Breath of Fire II

- If you're looking for the MamothCL in Breath of Fire II for SNES, the easiest place to find it is in the Final Dungeon against the enemy "BigHand" and they have a 1/64 chance of dropping one. This can either be equipped on Katt or Rand. Get both if you wish, but if I get one of these I put it on Katt, because her Defense is lacking, at least until this Armor is equipped!

I gave the Mammoth Cloth to Rand in order to make him the Ultimate Tank.
Katt is just great with any armor you put on her so long as it doesn't decrease her speed.
Rand's a good choice too, and I agree having Katt always go first is handy in case you need some guaranteed healing at the start of the round. I could never be bothered to get more than 1 of these types of armors due to the drop rate

You can always use Shamanized Sten and Nina in order to farm for Mammoths.
As long as you're not speedrunning, its safe to farm for Mammoths near Gate.

I've fought these guys over 260x no drops. I will say though to speed up this encounter just buy four Wrath Rings from the Fish Man armory salesman that is slightly North West of the island where Guntz is visible. You need either the Charm or Deluxe Pole along with the Gold (bate) to trigger him to spawn. Just equip it on your pole and begin to cast and wait until he pops up. You dont need to cast to get him to spawn. If you buy four Wrath Rings you can cast Death for free which kills these types of monsters 90%+ . Honestly though these weapons are thr best items and weapons since you can one shot almost everything after this unless its magic resistant or undead which are completely immune to this trick. Also these Ring weapons do not work on any bosses.
Good tip! I tend to underestimate Death, I only think to use it on the A. Sludges on Monster Island
@MegaHarv Yeah it's classic BoF one again where items are better than actual spells or weapons. The WrathRGs are too OP and just sweep away everything undead.

I know this video is old, but the drop rate is definitely not 1/64, especially since they drop PwrFood's as well. I think the actual rate of getting a MammothCL specifically is 1/128 or 1/256, but I'd have to do some digging in GameFAQs or something to find out for sure
Where is the location to fight them?
The video shows fighting Big Hand's which are in Infinity. But I recommend fighting Mamot's outside of Gate as they are easier to kill and the drop rate is the same.
