That little feeling that you expressed of not wanting to go film right before a shoot... it was encouraging to see that other people feel the same way as I do.
It's so comforting to see other filmmakers deal with the same issues on shoots, being quite casual, pre-shoot anxiety etc. Poops, loose tripods and all! This was cool to watch man.
Know that scenario all too well of waking up at 3am, feeling tired and nervous, and thinking, “Why do I do this?” Then you start shooting and you remember why you do it. Great video dude!
Shout out to Anthony for the BTS. It looked great, and really took us all along for the ride. Bummer on the C200 man. Super stoked to see the final edit. Good stuff as always man.
You know Danny is a wholesome man when he drops his baby down a cliff and doesn’t scream every swear word in the book. Unless that was just cut out of the final bts. 😂
I know the morning feeling - Must be a creative person challenge. Lots of my buddies have those some vibes when they wake up. Exactly right - just gotta keep pushing through it and you'll free great eventually.
sometimes i feel unmotivated and i question my filmmaking skills. i wonder if it really worths the effort. then i see videos like this and i remember this is the only job i want to do for the rest of my life, i want this to become my lifestyle. i do really appreciate your work and i just wanted to tell you that you inspire me a lot and I'm so grateful for that. i miss these days when i spend the night thinking about the shoot and wake up at 4am...
For the poop feeling, on days I have a shoot, I eat a bag of beef jerky in the morning. It's probably terrible nutritionally, but clogs up the system. Really helps with the morning poops. Keeps me from getting those cramps all day. I also carry wet wipes with me in my emergency bag. I've taken 2 hour train rides to New York and had to poop in a Metro North bathroom. They were lifesavers.
Watching your videos are such an inspiring thing to me, your world is something I always dream of, I wish one day I will become like you and tell my story to the world.
When people watch the result - they think, wow it's so awesome to hang out with all these people, shooting in great locations, sightseeins etc.. But then they watch BTS and realize it is a hard PHYSICAL work. Can't wait to see the outcome!
Can relate to this shoot on many levels, from the camera falling off the tripod (the exact same thing happened to me last week with my C70 but fortunately from only a foot or so off the ground), to the morning poop, and the push it requires before a shoot to get out there until you realize you still do love it :) Look forward to seeing the final vid!
Great vid!! Really appreciate that you’re NOT rushing these - so awesome to more fully appreciate the process!!! Please keep doing more of these!! You showed us how you did your planning on Milanote - could you show us how you’re shot list actually “played out”! Did you get the shots you planned ? Please show us that shot list in a little more detail AND please show us you’re editing process!!! How does pre, prod and post all link up?
I've always loved Rapha's short films so getting a behind the scenes look at this shoot is awesome. The film looks amazing! Great great job man. Just subscribed.
Amazing control keeping your head when you dropped your C200 rig, but also I love how it forced you to use a simplistic rig and really focus on doing the best job you could with the tools you had. Really should be a lesson to all of us who think gear matters or will make us better filmmakers. It doesn't.
Oh nooo! Not the poor C200. Aside from that the shots are looking dope man. Watching your videos are so entertaining seeing your BTS stuff on shoots. Just motivates me to shoot more
I thought I'm the only one who can't sleep because of thinking about the shoot for the next day. But seeing a lot of creative experiencing the same is such a relief. Great vid man, as always.
Shooting/hanging out the back of a pick up truck is the ultimate follow car haha You don't need to rent that million dollar Porsche cam car with a crane on the roof. Just hop in my pick up truck haha love it! Got some really really great shots.
Bro, Last Chance U Basketball was SOOO incredible. I absolutely love the way they shoot the episodes in this documentary style but their compositions are what draws me in.
As a former c200 owner. I can only imagine that pain of dropping that camera. But was great to watch you quickly adapt to the fx3 and keep things rolling. Always love being able to be a fly on the wall and observes others process. cant wait to see the final product. Your inspiring the crap outa me Danny. Keep it up!
It was so nice to see the full view of what goes into your video's. Makes me realize I need to put more effort in shooting days and stop caring about the time I take for a shot. So much looking forward to the ending result! Keep it up Danny!
Very cool. As I love cycling and enjoy filming and making videos of myself and my friends cycling, this was a real treat to watch. Can't wait to see the final edit.
Hey! One of the best BTS videos! Thanks for taking your viewers with you. It was so great to see how you work and your commitment to the shots. Can’t wait to see it all come together. Love your positivity always! Never let that go!
What an amazing shoot, man. I couldn't have kept my head down if I would have dropped my baby down the hill, Sir Danny Gevirtz, you're not just a great filmmaker but one of the greatest people I know. I admire you so much, man. Thank you, ILY, bye.
"That's what she said" really just made me finally like the video lol Glad I found your channel Danny! Def inspiring for new creators intimidated by the process
I literally get the same feelings before a shoot, dreading it (commercial or weddings). Hard to understand how weeks/days before I could be so pumped for the same shoot. The feeling of euphoria on the drive home makes up for it all though. Have a big week Danny!
Bro!!! You nailed it! The show must go on mentality! Kill the cam, improvise and keep going. I do vid for hunting shows so I share your pain on the morning shoots! 🤣🤣
So professional! And at the same time so nice and friendly! It really feels like you spent a lot of time in the pre-production, to have everything solved for production. Giving you the freedom and trust to just focus on the NOW. Awesome man, I feel inspired. And a little sorry seeing you so tired haha. Cameras come and go, You know? Haven't seen the film yet... It's gonna be epic.
This was such a good follow up to the planning day, thanks for putting in the extra time to organize a bts camera and do the edit. Great to see what goes into it. Can’t wait to see the final result!
idk if you've already made a video about this but it would be cool to see the process of a cinematographer picking out a certain camera, lens, lights... for a specific situation and why they choose that gear. I know most of us won't have access to those things but I feel like we could still learn a lot from it.
Love this man! Excited to see the footage! 💯✖️
Thanks homies! Loving the threads!! Look good feel good shoot good
"bad thing is about these morning shots is you don't get a chance to poop" :) so true!
Hahaha it’s way too real man
Truly, no method found yet!
Bane of my life when driving across the country for shoots XD
SOLVED: Wake Up Earlier
Hahaha #this
That little feeling that you expressed of not wanting to go film right before a shoot... it was encouraging to see that other people feel the same way as I do.
I thought the same thing! But then we realize "how much we love it"...good reminder and inspiration from Danny. Thanks!
Haha exactly man
Shout out to Anthony for the BTS. It looked great, and really took us all along for the ride. Bummer on the C200 man. Super stoked to see the final edit. Good stuff as always man.
Ant killed it!
You know Danny is a wholesome man when he drops his baby down a cliff and doesn’t scream every swear word in the book. Unless that was just cut out of the final bts. 😂
Haha the show must go on!
kinda glad im not the only one who's always like "ugh i wish i didnt have to do this" every time haha
I know the feeling :D
Lol every single shoot no matter what the shoot for me
Same here!
My stress levels go off the charts but as soon as you hit record everything should be where it needs to be.
Haha totally captured the feeling I get when not sleeping enough on shoots. Makes me so happy to see that FX3 in your video!
Man you always getting the perfect colours... Colour Grade is inspiring ideas over here
As an aspiring videographer who is also into cycling, this looks like a literal dream. One day, one day....
Haha just do it man!
So refreshing to see real people, outside, doing real things and not wearing masks. We need human faces.
Thanks for this Danny, very fun to follow the process!
Love to see your love for filming and creating, it really shows in you face, pure happiness! Keep inspiring dude 👊 And sorry about your camera!
Just started some simlar type of work
Thanks man! All good! Could have been my body falling so I’m grateful
Each frame I watch from Hawaii I feel more passionate for this place, for sure a paradise to live! My number 1 from my bucketlist 😍
I know the morning feeling - Must be a creative person challenge. Lots of my buddies have those some vibes when they wake up. Exactly right - just gotta keep pushing through it and you'll free great eventually.
Haha the morning before a shoot is horrible
sometimes i feel unmotivated and i question my filmmaking skills. i wonder if it really worths the effort. then i see videos like this and i remember this is the only job i want to do for the rest of my life, i want this to become my lifestyle. i do really appreciate your work and i just wanted to tell you that you inspire me a lot and I'm so grateful for that. i miss these days when i spend the night thinking about the shoot and wake up at 4am...
Can't wait to see the final project! You are so talented! WOW
It's kinda nice seeing this being Brazilian like Rodrigo!
Rodrigão, mandou bem demais meu querido!
Rip c2 buttttt super excited for the final result. Keep on killin it 😊
It looks so good Danny 🔥 sad about the C200
just casually breaks a 6.000€ camera
It's really cinecom.net ... Uumm that's impersive
My condolences! We all know it went to camera heaven. May it rest in peace
You have remarkably good composure for someone who broke his C200. What a great example of keeping your head up!
Dude loving these BTS videos! Learning what kind of shots you need and how you get them is really cool to see! Excited to see the video!
4:16 Daaamnn Son!
Best youtube channel about filmmaking , by far ❤️
Aw man thank you so much! I’m honored
The first 1:00 is so raw & real. I've felt it.
Thanks for showing all the effort and angles it takes to do a film
This vlog was already so beautiful, I can't wait for the video!
Here for "Interview footage is a crutch." and "Eagle, this is Ballsack."

So cool, I love seeing behind the scenes stuff!
I keep on coming back to this video, Danny. I just find it so motivating whenever I'm feeling a low. Makes me want to really get out there and shoot.
Watching your videos are such an inspiring thing to me, your world is something I always dream of, I wish one day I will become like you and tell my story to the world.

This is extremely educational without even explaining a lot. So much value in this content 🙌🏼
That sunset at the end...wow!
When people watch the result - they think, wow it's so awesome to hang out with all these people, shooting in great locations, sightseeins etc.. But then they watch BTS and realize it is a hard PHYSICAL work. Can't wait to see the outcome!
Still waiting for this masterpiece!!
Next Monday hopefully

So hyped to see this! Haven't ridden my roadie in over 6 months and this makes me giddy to get out again.
I'm excited to watch this film when it's done.
Amazing control keeping your head when you dropped your C200 rig, but also I love how it forced you to use a simplistic rig and really focus on doing the best job you could with the tools you had.
Really should be a lesson to all of us who think gear matters or will make us better filmmakers. It doesn't.
