Really glad to hear some words from Ashok, would be great if you could talk with Marthus and Daniel, along with Ashok they've been the writing core of the band, Daniel is a great music writer.

To be honest having revisited and getting back into the old stuff again after many years, I caught up on all the albums I'd heard and the stuff released with Ashok and Richard (when he was in the band) is the best stuff they have put out in a very long time.

It’s crazy to think that he’s been around that long in Cradle of Filth, because in my mind he still seems like a new band member. Marek seems like an overall great guy, plus I love his old band Root, it’s one of my favorite Czech metal bands.

Marek is a great guitarist. As a fan of the earlier CoF material, I really do think his addition to the band has helped them get back on track and record some awesome new music. It’s also cool that he is a hard rock guy, it comes across in his playing!

A fascinating guy. A Czech man playing guitar in a British black/goth metal band. I wonder what’s been his trick to attaining longevity in the band. I’d love to be the 72nd guitarist in COF lol

13:26 such a diplomatic answer but we all know nic smokes the rest , Love your cradle uploads man watched them all , there is definitely an air of neutrality from those currently in the band , when it comes to discussing the old classic cruelty era , understandable as they want to stay employed. Miss the cruelty era , nothing like it has come since , i remember from the cradle to enslave coming out and being slightly disappointed , same with midian . All the talk around the production on cruelty being weak is strange ,i think its their best sound and era by far along with dusk

@@Batsinthebelltower I agree RE the Cruelty production. I just thought it was an artefact of the era and took it as intentional by the band, but the musicians, Nick and Sara in particular hate it. Although it would have sounding absolutely amazing if Andy Sneap had produced it. That’s who Dan could have asked in that absurd ‘Remistressing’ thing.

Great job. This dude seriously rips and helped in the CoF rebirth, big time. Compared to a band like Dimmu...Cradle has gotten stunningly close to producing new music that honors their peak legacy records and still pushes forward. I really stopped listening to the band after Bitter Suites/Damnation. Nothing grabbed me until Hammer of the Witches era began. I might add, the Nick Barker comment...Ashok prob does think very highly of Marthus, so that was a genuine comment. However, Barker truly is underrated. I mean, Marthus is a capable drummer, Id say leagues above Adrian...but he doesnt come close to the creative genius of Nick Barker.

Marthus is a great drummer. He’s up there with Barker for sure.

A stylistic injection of Vito Bratta esque White Lion guitar styling into new COF material?
    Im in for sure.
    Shameless fan of both.
( some White Lion material was a little off, but Vito was always an exceptional axe man)
