  • Ahead of his Australian tour in March, goth-rock icon Ville Valo (HIM/VV) has a chat with Maniacs' Brenton Harris.
    Ville opens up about his new album 'Neon Noir' and the enduring legacy of HIM, offers his reflections on living life as a 'goth sex symbol', calls out generic vocalists and provides a more wholesome and darkly humorous explanation for all those church burnings in Norway.

    I love his ability to turn a common question in such an interesting way to answer, even if he repeats "pandemic" all the time ahah.. I think others would have answer in a flat empty way with no emotion

    Hi Mr. Ville. You have inspired me. A few weeks ago, I was commenting to my daughter how much I love the lighting in most of your videos. Snowy and cool. I said It's like a barely there shade of blue. Then I stopped and said Ohmygod, I'm going to write a blues song called "Barely There Blues" then I will sing it and invite Ville to sing a duet w me someday 😮 oooooo. It's my first time to write a song in my life. I'm originally from Memphis aka "Home of the Blues" so I'll need to listen to some blues and wrap my mind around it. Let's see how it turns out 😍 I'll post future comments about it here in this thread. In time. Thank you ❤

    fortunately he is also a bit twisted. otherwise his allround lovelyness would be nausiating. but he gets the mix just right.
    as a choir singer who lives in a flat with other people just on the other side of the wall, the singing low and softly because of recording in the bedroom theory makes a lot of sense to me. especially higher notes get loud very easily and just go straight through the wall.

      He got older. If I think back to me in my 20s, I'm so different now I'm in my 40s. He looks different too, because of his teeth. Different teeth completely change the shape etc of your face.

    • @norauusikoski
      @norauusikoski 3 місяці тому +1

      @@burnseybaby People were used to that he had almost no teeth at all, they were totally destroyed. If you look back old pics from early 2000's the new teeth looks exactly the same as his own teeth were before he destroyed them. People just got used to see the damaged ones.
