You should go after a world record rainbow again
Possibility. Or even try for a line class rainbow trout record, which is maybe doable 😀
Unless they accidentally released more triploids wouldn’t they be at the end of their lives already
There’s a rainbow swimming around our nets here in northern Ontario that’s over the 50lb mark right now! It’s nicknamed “big blue” and it’s been caught twice but not put in the record books. Last time it was caught it was 48lb 👌👌I’m coming for that WR rainbow boys !

Canada is known for its giant fish and you guys are some of the best anglers in the world, just go for some really big fish no matter the species and we will love it. rainbows on deef, or more giant burbs or lakers or brookies we don't care you boys rock!

I’m surprised you weren’t catching them between sunset and sunrise. It also looks like a lot of those burbs were post spawn which explains why they were smaller than the ones you caught in late feb. Entertaining as always, thanks for sharing.
That’s awesome! Crazy big burbot out there. I’ve always caught them while fishing for walleye but never think to target them.
Those top down angles on the bump board really show the absolutely football shoulders on these things. Crazy lookin fish.

ya'll are part of the reason i started doing my video's it's so cool to have a library of videos to look back through, and friends and family can see what we get up to. i'm thinking go for the 72 pound lake trout record although you might have to get a bigger ice cave thinking 24" hole or more? best to you and your family at this time here's to the 2023 season hope it's great.

Any reason you are not using an underwater camera? I would guess you are in clear water.
What type of bottom do you look for, rocky or sandy?
Have you thought about using a diesel heater?
Last year I used an underwater camera here and it would spook the fish in this lake. I’ll give it another go next time. Also large sandy flats for the spawn

Unfortunately guys and girls, there was a burbot caught in Yakutia; up near the Artic Circle. This fish weighed 26.4 lbs.
It was not weighed at an IGFA location. But, you can research this yourself. This burbot was not an official record, but I saw it weighed with my own eyes on a 'certified' scale---whatever that means in Yakutia. Cheers!
Hello, I can tell you that in Lena river burbots can weigh as much as 25-30 kg. Also Yenisei river 25 kg. Greetings from Finland!
