Happy Sunday, Maya. You’re such a delight to watch, I was always taking on projects like you when I was much younger. I’m so glad to see you wearing a mask when working and removing the old stuff from the buildings or brush outdoors, and wearing gloves and better protective shoes rather than flip flops or sandals. I’d like to offer this suggestion: now that you have electrical power, you should invest in a powerful shop vacuum to quickly vacuum up all the dust particles and small bits in the buildings, it would reduce how much stirs up into the air when you start to brush all the dirt, and save you time also. I’m sending you $20 via your coffee fund, hoping you’ll buy yourself a small brush and dustpan set. It seems it would be easier to use and not so awkward in those times I’ve seen you use a long broom and shovel for sweeping up stuff to put in a trash bag or outdoor pile. And the brush would make it quicker and easier to clean off dirt and cobwebs from lumber when you’re picking pieces up to relocate. But if you don’t think you’d use one, then buy something else. Have a great week, please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and a wide brimmed hat. I speak with experience, here in Texas, it’s currently 106 - 110 Fahrenheit. Best regards, Deb
I wanted to be the first to congratulate you on reaching 40k subscribers, when I subscribed earlier it said 39.9k, Glad I was here to see it reach 40k today. My wife and I just found your channel today and we have been binge watching lol.
A friend who opens up sealed cartons of furniture & similar heavy goods that are tightly packed have me this tip. Don’t open the top of the carton - tilt the carton to the side a bit then split the tape on the base first. Then lift UP the light weight cardboard to expose the much heavier item. It’s much easier than trying to get a grip on the heavy stuff when there’s minimal space at the sides of the item.
How lovely neighbours helping each other and learning new skills. Your stone houses will look amazing and what a wonderful view you will have from high up there. 💚
Hi Maya i came across your story yesterday and basically watched every video you have posted great stuff 👌seeing you finally getting into some work on the buildiings was for me just as enjoyable as watching you clear down by the river that was so satisfying to watch you kindda carved out the beauty off the land right there and then imo 🤩 keep it up. Im looking forward to following this mammoth task off a project . Might I quickly suggest that you either buy or get sponsored by 3M you need a proper mask 😀
Always good to clear and shift. marks the start of a new project, all the potential begins to unfold. A balcony from the upper floor window would be fabulous. Good to see you have found reciprocal community. 💗
Late congratulations on the Bluetti sponsorship. They make some of the best equipment for household and adventuring solar power. You’re on an adventure and making cozy homes so perfect fit! 😊🌞 The plastic and cardboard are a bonus to cover a bit of the mimosa trees territory. Weighed down with some river rocks and covered with mulch for additional weight and improved appearance. When you don’t have anything else to do. lol
Hi Maya, really love your channel. And the fact that you’ve finally started to tackle one of the stone houses is really exciting stuff. I look forward to seeing how that develops. Cheers from Northern California (USA)
I bet that felt so amazing to clear out the rooms in the stone house. An outdoor kitchen sounds nice. I know a few other channels where they did this so remember to think about rain, lol. Great to have more solar options that you can move around to use in the stone houses for tools. Great video , thanks Maya.
Helping each other work through your projects is how it should be, so great to see 😊. This first building looks like it has solid floors and a good roof. Look forward to seeing your next videos
Morning Maya 🎉 wow haven’t you been a busy girl this week ⭐️ if you sprinkle water on a dusty area (floors etc) it will keep the dust down while you sweep, might be a bit late to tell you now however a tip for the future. Great job so far clearing the rooms out. Just love the river, what a wonderful place to relax. Can’t wait to see the new outside kitchen 👩🍳 and loo. 🚽🧻🧴Wondering are you on the land now for good or will you have to leave at some stage to earn some €’s.
Maya your great work ethic is admirable. You work harder than most vloggers and are very organized! So satisfying that you get so much done! Keep up the great work on your homestead projects!
Olá menina do sorriso mais lindo, que maravilha saber o que você esta conseguindo fazer neste lugar lindo, eu adoro ver seus vídeos deste lugar que transmite uma paz. Abraço para você. 🙋♂️🇧🇷🌹
Just started watching your videos but there is no audio a lot of times when you're talking to the camera. Is it just me or does everyone have this problem? I don't experience this with videos from other people. BTW, I still enjoy them because I'm so fascinated by all the youtubers who have migrated to Central Portugal and are renovating old, abandoned stone houses and farms. The music you overlay in the editing process comes over just fine.
I hope you use boiled resin and not boiled raisin to paint with :D the land is looking great :D that poor shelf looks like it will off itself if you put too much weight on it
How beautiful to help out each other.. made me a bit emotional to be honest. I love your energy and enthusiasm. I've have a similar dream one day to restore a old property.. I was thinking of perhaps in Ireland or another European country. Love seeing your progress. I'm undergoing some health issues and your energy is very uplifting for me right now. Thank you for sharing.
Love the videos! Keep up the good work! Only the sound from video recordings is not stereo, so only 1 speaker, maybe the microphone cable isnt plugged in fully? Makes it more comfortable to watch if the microphone sound is stereo :)
I love your "can do" attitude and with a " let's go"also that you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you should give yourself a pat on the back Maya, I can't wait to see the finished product.Good on you Maya, I'll catch you in the next video.❣️Noreen Australia 🦘
Yeah it is pretty dusty, you should definitely get some N95 masks for that dust, they aren't too expensive. They'll cover your whole nose and mouth better than the medical face masks. Getting stuff cleared out though, it's nice to have some extra space and a good reno project.
Sunday Greetings Maya, such progress, it’s so satisfying for you and us as well. As I rest here in bed while fighting Breast Cancer, your determination, strength, attitude, and smile bring back many memories for me. Reminder that if I fight hard I can return to my former self, with vigor and gusto. Until then I throughly enjoy watching and following all the visions you have for the property. I pray for your safety and strength and May you be blessed with good health and fortune. Keep the beautiful content and yooo! hoo ! Going. Faithfully following Cheryl from Michigan , USA. Have a good rest after that hard work. ❤
I recently came across your videos and I love them! I think it is very inspiring and empowering to see you doing this by yourself (with help from friends and family!) as a woman. You've inspired me to tackle a lot of my to do list!
Great job. Good to see cement render being removed from old buildings. Lime or clay plasters are so much better. I build houses out of clay. I know Bryn and visited her last year!
Great to see your progress. I didn’t know portable solar power systems existed. I’m now wondering if I could heat my studio in the winter with one. I have mains electricity, but it’s so expensive here now (UK) or maybe a little wood burner with eco-friendly burning materials. Hmmm
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey Maya. I love how you are gaining community to share tasks as you learn what you need to do. Congratulations on finding a sponsor that helps you get power on your land. I hope that more sponsors come as you continue. Much love and good luck to you! 😘
So happy to see you getting to the houses. 🎉 Not sure of the condition of the ceiling boards but you can wipe them down with a bleach solution and clean them. Can repurpose as they are expensive materials. I love how your garden plantings are doing this year. Beautiful.
YOU CAN SAVE ENERGY USING ONLY DEED LAMPS, I DID THE SWITCH AT HOME AND I NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE! 1 FLURESCENT LAMP OF 60CM IS 18W AND THE ONE I USE AS A REPLACEMENT IS 4W AND MORE LIGHT! THERE ARE IN VARIOUS SHADES I USE THE ONE THAT IS MORE YELLOW, AND SOFTER THAN THE WHITE LIGHT, IT MAKES THE ENVIRONMENT COLDER.
Hi Maya, I am from Trinidad. I am so happy to find you. You have motivated me to tranform some land into a beautiful garden. May God keep on blessing you on your projects.🙂
Thats absolutely wonderful. The bluetti ac200 max is a very capable solar generator! You can also add any brand of solar panels if you wanted to charge it up! These videos are a real treat I look forward to!
Is there a possibility to put in floor-level windows in the window frames that you have just opened? The thin walls below the window holes are certainly not structural - question is how they are connected to the thicker walls.
sabes que precisas de autorização camarária para construir essa cozinha e quarto de banho? mesmo na tua propriedade se as fundações forem em betão tens de apresentar projecto à câmara municipal
Kettles and microwaves take up so much power for short periods of time! But that’s really not a bad drain, some kettles can almost suck a battery dry lol
I have several of these little houses which I intend to live in and maybe live of agriculture some day, Clarkson style XD . Right now I am just focusing on rebuilding the native forest in some areas (damn eucalyptus, mimosas and acacias!). It's incredible how much I learn from channels like this on how to tackle their reconstruction compared to portuguese sources. Thank you so much and enjoy rural Portugal.
You need to trim / cut off some of the leaves of your tomato plants. You will have more fruits if you cut the branches that have no flowers. That way the energy will go to the fruits.
Hello maya , much respect to you for what your doing, just a heads up on renovating old buildings. Look out for asbestos and the old paint will be of a lead base .you should get your self a respirator, them dust masks are just not good enough
I'M HAPPY FOR PURCHASING THE POWER APPLIANCE AND A GOOD BRAND AND GOOD POWER(2000 WOTES) FOR YOU AND EXCELLENT! OF AND SURPLUS. HIS JOY AND SYMPATHY IS CONTAGIOUS. DON'T THINK BAD OF ME I'M AN OLD MAN WHO LOVES TO SEE PEOPLE HAPPY
Hello Maya.. An exciting move forward. I am wondering if the outside kitchen and toilets are to be for your helpers and the stone houses for their accommodation whilst they are with you. Looking forward to watching and finding out. Blessings/Hilaryxx
Hi there, stone house time has finally arrived! 😁Thank you for joining my journey and take care 💪
Suggestion save all the cardboard for no dig gardening!!! Will hold moisture and prevent weeds on your dry property

Great suggestion, I would add a HEPA filter for the shop-vacuum to that list 👌

Thank you very much 🥳
Tip; please use cement and water and gently spray or brush them to avoid moisture and then use visqueen or bitumnious material for water proofing.
And by all means wear a good mask when around that cement dust, etc.
I love your enthusiasm with everything you do. I think if you ever sell merch, it needs to say "YAHOO!" on it. 😆

Those little houses are so cute, and the light from the windows is so relaxing. Can you smell the eucalyptus trees in the wind?
Hi Maya, you may to invest in an mulcher which cuts up your Green Waste into smaller pieces which is easier to transport/spread around your land

Hi Maya, you are so big inspiration for me. You are creative, positive person, who is living yourself dream. Than you share your videos. :)
Preparing to do a variety of jobs around the stone houses. Clearing a ruin.
❤ another wonderful video. You are doing such beautiful work! So nice to get the Bluetti AC. It's on my Wish List!
Your skills are growing fast.

Fair exchange of work. Extra hand is necessary sometimes.

No, you can't have heat during winter using such capacity, please note that the sun is at high peak during the summer, and low peak during the winter
You need a RamPump to get water UP to holding tanks so yo may then water your plants a bit easier. No power needed.
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey Maya. I love how you are gaining community to share tasks as you learn what you need to do.
Congratulations on finding a sponsor that helps you get power on your land. I hope that more sponsors come as you continue. Much love and good luck to you! 😘
Thank you I appreciate your support 🥰

Yes, the coating on them was probably to protect them from wood eating bugs.

The finish on the wood that you took down from the ceiling might be shellac to keep the moisture out?
Love your vids! Definitely a stress-reliever! 🥰❤️
