Italy stands out as a global leader in the development of driving games, excelling in both arcade-style and simulation experiences. Studios like Kunos Simulazioni, based in Rome, have earned international acclaim for creating Assetto Corsa and its sequel, Assetto Corsa Competizione. These titles are celebrated for their unparalleled realism, laser-scanned tracks, and meticulous attention to vehicle physics, offering players a true-to-life racing experience that has become a benchmark in the world of sim racing. On the arcade side, Milestone, another prominent Italian developer, has established itself as a master of accessible yet engaging racing games. Titles like MotoGP, Ride, and the Hot Wheels Unleashed series demonstrate their ability to deliver high-quality experiences that blend fun, speed, and creativity. Their arcade racers are perfect for casual gamers while still offering depth for enthusiasts. Whether you're a fan of the precision and immersion of simulations or the adrenaline-fueled excitement of arcade racers, Italy's game development scene proves that it can cater to every type of driving game enthusiast.
As someone who played the old Screamer games, this one seems a little like an odd matchup. The first three Screamer games were pretty much rally racers with shortish courses that were all over the world pitting teams against each other and had bright, cheerful colors and unlicensed, mostly Japanese-based vehicles and arcade handling with a hint of sim, and the fourth was more like an open-world off-road SUV trials game with multiple maps and real, licensed SUVs with super-realistic suspensions. There were no cities or racing to the death. This feels more far more like a revival of Death Rally or POD than Screamer.

If anyone missed it the steam page says it has a track editor, probably akin to hot wheels.
