Yeah J.Maya said that she didn’t believe in soulmates until she saw Percy and Annabeth and then wrote this song inspired from them. Look what Uncle Rick affected now. He’s everywhere
1:30 you have done your research! She put Kore because that's Persephone's name above ground, and she's known as Persephone in the Underworld. I love how she used it for two different purposes!
HIGHLY appreciate the use of Heracles instead of Hercules😎 also this give off vibes of Annabeth and Luke's whole relationship. I'm a little hopeful, it would be a great add to the show!
I LOVE THE HERACLES LINE! Too many people call him HURcles after the ROMAN tale *cough* Disney *cough* I had to go back and listen a few times, it's too good to be true. He was named in tribute to HERA hence her name in his, and just OOOOOOOO chefs kiss this makes me so so so so happy. It's my top historical pet peeve, the mispronunciation of Heracles in Greek context. THANK YOU TO THE ARTIST! new favourite song for sure >w
Ikr when I talk about him in the Greek context I say Heracles and people don’t know that name. I’d be rich if I got a dollar for every time I’ve said “Hercules is the Roman name for Heracles”
Yeah, Ikr! Everyone is like Hercules this Hercules that, no one seems to know that his Greek name is Heracles and that Hercules is his Roman name. Although, I think Heracles/Hercules would probably prefer it this way if he were real. Hera was pretty horrible to him.
The first part kinda reminded me of Achilles himself, with his hyperfixation and attachment to Patroclus (romantically or *Plato*nically). In the end, it was his death that brought Achilles to the point where he was suicidal/ready to die, which is why his Achilles heel is much more than an actual heel.
Am I one of the only ones here that understood the reference to Echo falling in love with a daffodil. Which is stating Echo’s love for Narcissus, who after falling in love with himself died staring at his reflection had a flower sprout next to him which ended up bearing his name and is part of the daffodil family.
The last line of the second verse has stayed in my head since I first heard this song. “Cause with those nectar lips and ambrosia hips boy you’ve become my drug” gods that is just 🤌🏻
@@Hecateofcrossroads not technically, since the gods don't have DNA. just remember, Zeus married his sister. Greek mythology is just Sweet Home Alabama ig

All the Greek Mythology references that I understood Achilles Heel:When Achilles was dipped in the River Styx, his mother forgot to dip his ankle, making that the only weak spot. He then got shot by an arrow at the heel and died. River Styx: The river in the underworld. Also where achilees gained his immortality. Dangling by the ankle: Achilles mother hung him bye the ankle in the River Styx to make him immortal Sisyphus pushing the rock uphill Sisyphus cheated death twice so Zeus forced him to push a huge boulder uphill Echo falling for a daffodil: Echo fell for a man(Narcissist) and he was obsessing over his reflection and turned into a flower. Echo still loved the flower. Sirens to the shore: Evil mermaids who seduce sailors. They tried to kill Odysseus and his crew. The Fates: The Fates are who determine the destiny of everyone in the world. Icarus and the Sun: Icarus flew too close to the sun with his wax wings and they melted, making him fall and die. Turn into Stone: When you look in Medusa's eyes, you turn into stone. Loved Kore only half the time: Kore is another name for Persephone, and she is forced to live with Hades for half the year. Athena and the Web: Arachne ws a better weaver than Athena, so Athena turned her into a spider. Atlas: The Titan who held up the sky and was nearly crushed many times by it. Nectar and Ambrosia: The food of the Gods Choir: The nine muses who sing. lyre: Hermes made the instrument, but Apollo asked and received it from him. Prometheus: Took fire from the sun to help mankind and to try to teach them how not to starve. Horse in the Gate: Trojan Horse was used as a trick to help the Greeks defeat Troy. Pandora's Box: Pandora opened a box, expecting it to be full of jewels, and released hundreds of evil demons of famine, and disease. She closed it before the spirit Foreboding could get out. If Foreboding was released, people would know all the bad things that would happen to them. Labyrinth: The Minotaur was trapped in a maze made by Daedalus. Orpheus: A musician taught by Hermes. Labour Like Heracules: You're probably used to the name Hercules, but that is the Roman name, Heracules is the Greek name. He has 12 labours he had to complete. Golden touch: Midas (not the fortnite guy) was cursed with everything he touches turning to gold. Paris: Royalty in Troy Hope this helps. Yes I used oxford commas, i do me, you do you. reply w/ any inaccuracies, haven't studied the myths in years. I counted 23 refrences. How many did you?
