I definitely liked this one. You showed me places I have not been. I have been to Padre Island, South Padre Island and Galveston, but did not know about the RV parks. Hope you are doing well and having fun wherever you are now.
Great Video!!!!! We already booked Galveston for New Years Eve week, My wife and I we’re planning Padre Island in March, This helps us sooo much!! Love seeing you back in our beautiful state of Texas!!!
Thanks Geo! There are a lot of great options for exploring Padre Island. We were on North Padre Island in this video. South Padre Island is a few hours further south. We look forward spending more time down there. Interesting fact: Padre Island National Seashore is "The Longest Stretch of Undeveloped Barrier Island in the World".

Must have been the part of Padre Island that my parents took me to when we visited my Aunt and Uncle in Corpus in the 60’s. We slept on the beach while my Dad and Uncle fished off the pier. Got up early to pick up starfish and sand dollars. I need to get down to that part of Texas again. Thanks for the video.
Wow! What a difference a year makes. Just one year ago you had to move to a park with electric hook ups just to run you air conditioning. This year, only a couple hours up the coast with no power or water!! Ugh! Thankful for your review. I have only tent camped in that park, but have spent a lot more time catching really big fish on the Bob Hall pier. Blessings 🙏🏻

Stacie do you think Tom needs a go fund me for the drone. haha They are nice but expensive for a good one. Take care and stay safe. Thanks and see ya in the next one. Love y'all
When that front came through we left Padre Balli for boondocking on North Beach in PINS. That video will be available in a few weeks, complete with our interview with RV Texas Y'all.
Awesome video. Just be careful when you get down on the sand. You have to go pretty fast where the pavement ends and find a good spot to turn around. I've seen plenty of Rigs of your size down there within the first few miles. The sand is well-packed and you shouldn't have a problem.

Great view from both Bali and Seashore! I've never been further than the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, so I thought the entire state of Texas was the same. Thank you for expanding my education 😊👍 Until your recent trip to South Dakota with Grammy Kay, I never wondered about where Star slept. When Grammy Kay travels with you, where does Star sleep? How long did it take to get her used to wearing booties?
Hey Lina! Thanks! When Grammy is with us, Star sleeps next to our bed or in her dog bed next to the couch. She adjusted amazingly fast to the booties. Within the first 20 minutes she was walking normally and not paying attention to them.
Wish I had known y'all would have been down here. I would have loved to have met up with y'all for a day. Balli is a great campground...I spent 2 weeks there when I came down from Arlington to help with Harvey recovery before we moved down here. Keep your eyes open for the one in Port Aransas to reopen because it is going to be even nicer than Balli.
Thanks for the heads up! We look forward to seeing the Port A park. This ended up being just a quick trip. We look forward to spending more time down there in the future.
@@rvamericayall let me know when y'all are coming down again so we can meet up. In all honesty, October is the best time of year to come down...not too hot and not too cold. Also, remember Texas Sandfest is either 3rd or 4th weekend in April in Port A and you really want to experience that.
Hi Rayetta! It depends a lot on what parts of Texas you want to visit (since it covers so many miles). As a general rule: late October thru December and then late February thru May are typically pretty awesome as far as weather goes.
That pier got destroyed a couple of years ago by a hurricane I just stayed there last week, August 2022. They are in the process of taking it down, but they are supposed to build another one. It might take a while though. I have a small Winnebago Rialta motorhome, and I camped right on the beach. At night, you have the beach all to yourself. Mainly because hardly anybody camps overnight on the beach. It’s too windy. I was able to run my Honda generator all night long and have A/C. The nearest neighbor was a few hundred yards away. Most people that camp on the beach, either sleep in their car, or put up a tent. A pass to camp on the beach is $12, and it’s good for the whole year! You can camp for 3 days in a row, and then you have to move, and you can camp another 3 days in a row. I don’t recommend a big rig like yours to camp on the beach, because if you get stuck, it’s going to cost a fortune to get pulled out. I don’t recommend a popup either, it’s too windy. But if you have a tear drop, or a small trailer with a 4x4 truck, or a Rialta like mine, it is perfect for camping. Most people that camp on the beach stay in an SUV. If you try it in a tent, it better be a good one, or it will get blown away. I usually camp close to that pier, because there are restrooms and showers close to that pier, near where you stayed in your motorhome. Showers are for rinsing off only, no soap alowd. I put this information out there in case some of your viewers want to try camping on the beach. It’s cheap, but the wind is brutal, but the sunrise on the surf is worth it. You can buy the pass at any gas station on the island.
Good Morning Y'all ☕️! I've been there a couple of times a few years back, but we prefer the Galveston/Kemah area just because we have more to do there. Looks like the hurricane had no real effect to the Padre Island area! Safe Travels Y'all!

PINS has been on my wish list for a long time, maybe next spring. Lifelong Florida resident & there is no beaches here like that. Developers & realtors sold us out. I had to go to N. Carolina for my beach fix this year.
Hello again, why don`t they put the refills of diesel and DEF on the left. Then they sit on the pump on the fuel island at a truckstop. Mush easier to refuel then !
You can’t run the generator during the night, Richard. The parks don’t allow it. This experience is one of the reasons we added solar and lithium to our RV: ua-cam.com/video/CFg-ZfNS4n8/v-deo.html . With our new system we can run our ACs without running our generator.
Hi Kate, Great question. We leave ours installed and roll it up with the awning. It has not been a problem for us so far. We try to be careful, as we are rolling it up, to make sure that it doesn't get wrinkled or roll unevenly. Especially in wind. When it is really windy (like it was in Padre), we use a broom to help keep it hanging straight down as it rolls up.
We are renting a RV and going to Padre Island the end of June do you think we should stay where there is electrical hook up? Or boondock on the the beach? How will the weather be at the end of June?
Hi Mindy, it will be pretty warm at the end of June. We would choose to have electrical hookups during the summer. It was too warm to be comfortable at night when the wind died down during our stay. That was in October.
That is indeed the Cedar Creek Camper owned by New Hampshire couple James and Michelle Butler, the couple rented the RV space A-9 from Sept. 30 until Oct. 14 at the Padre Balli Park Office. Adam Curtis Williams, 33, and Amanda Noverr, 32 killed James and Michelle Butler within days of your stay at the RV Park. The couples remains were found on October 27th at Texas beach marker 263 on Padre Island National Seashore just south of Padre Bali Park
Were you ever able to make it back, and dry camp on the beach proper? Padre Island is our first major stop after we finish the shakedown of our new Momentum 399th toy hauler. We're very interested in learning about your experiences camping right on the beach, as that's our intention.
Hey Chuck! We love camping at the beach, but we've decided not to camp on the beach. A lot of folks love it, but we've seen folks get stuck in the sand. We've seen the tide come right up to (and sometimes under) RVs, and we know folks who've had to replace their slide motors because sand blew into them. So we'll take the view from a pad in a campground (like the Malaquite Campground inside South Padre Island National Seashore) and walk on the beach. Enjoy your new Momentum!
@@rvamericayall getting stuck in the sand or trapped by incoming tides are indeed concerning. I'm hoping to gather as much information from those that have actually done it before we take the leap. Unfortunately, our budget doesn't permit a lot of paid camping... around 25-30%. So, we're going to have to get creative... or I need to make more $$ in retirement 😢 Please don't take that the wrong way. I wasn't intending for it to appear critical.
Don’t worry. We didn’t take it as critical at all. If you get National Parks Senior Pass, you’ll get 1/2 price camping in National Parks. Which would make it $7/ night in the Malaquite Campground in the Padre Island National Seashore. We paid $14 to stay there. We were right behind the dunes with an unobstructed view of the Gulf. Not sure if there are size restrictions. Here’s the campground website: www.nps.gov/pais/planyourvisit/malaquite_campground.htm

@@rvtimetraveler Thanks Sheryl! :) We're trying to remember to mention prices more often. We paid $50/night for our 50amp full hookup site at Padre Bali Park. The 30amp/water sites were $25/night.
Why do you continue to sell it even after admitting that its too hot and humid? You cant stay the night because its too hot and humid. Its a concrete parking lot, LMAO.

We think the restaurant survived. The extended pier past the restaurant suffered damage. Not sure if any of it is open right now.
PINS has been on my wish list for a long time, maybe next spring. Lifelong Florida resident & there is no beaches here like that. Developers & realtors sold us out. I had to go to N. Carolina for my beach fix this year.
Great place Gary! We hope to make it back down there soon. Spring would be a great time to visit.
Could you share what video equipment you use in making your videos
Sure Rusty! We listed all of the equipment we used for filming this video in its description.
Hello again, why don`t they put the refills of diesel and DEF on the left. Then they sit on the pump on the fuel island at a truckstop. Mush easier to refuel then !
Doesn't your generator power the AC?
Yep but you can’t run the generator from 8pm- 8am. and it was hot with no breeze!
Ohhhhhh, gotcha......
I do wish the videos did not have such loud music. Cant hear what your saying very well. Love to see Padre again !
Sorry about that Dee. We’ll definitely be going back to Padre.
That’s on the list!! Wow. $50 a night for a parking lot. 😬
You said you were uncomfortable sleeping, could you have used the generator to run air conditioning?
You can’t run the generator during the night, Richard. The parks don’t allow it. This experience is one of the reasons we added solar and lithium to our RV: ua-cam.com/video/CFg-ZfNS4n8/v-deo.html . With our new system we can run our ACs without running our generator.
Question? Can you roll up your sunblocker shad screen with your awning, or do you have to remove and reinstall it every move?
Hi Kate, Great question. We leave ours installed and roll it up with the awning. It has not been a problem for us so far. We try to be careful, as we are rolling it up, to make sure that it doesn't get wrinkled or roll unevenly. Especially in wind. When it is really windy (like it was in Padre), we use a broom to help keep it hanging straight down as it rolls up.
Gotta have my power. Ok I can run one of my A.C. units off our batteries. We will run it to take out some of the humidity.
Nice to be able to run an A/C off of batteries. That’s a goal for our future.
i like it
Thanks
👍😎
Thanks Mike! 😁
@@rvamericayall thanks for replying
Is this still opened after the murders of the Butler's??
Cell signal?
Yes we did
That is indeed the Cedar Creek Camper owned by New Hampshire couple James and Michelle Butler, the couple rented the RV space A-9 from Sept.
A real tragedy.
👍
😀
Are y’all from TEXAS AND WERE y’all born and raised in Texas????? Where y’all originally from?
We were both born in Houston.
RV Texas Y'all ohhhh wow that’s cool Did y’all meet in high school
So, we're going to have to get creative... or I need to make more $$ in retirement 😢
Please don't take that the wrong way.
Why is diesel and DEF filling often sitting on each side of an RV. On a truck stop diesel and DEF are on the same pump on fuel island.
Hey Erik. Our motorhome has fuel fill on both sides, but DEF fill is only on the driver side.
Hi you all. I tried to send you an email tru the button on your website. But it does open my email but no adres to send it too. Something does not work right.
Hope you can fix it. I have some Questions for ya. That needs to stay private and confidential
We’ll look into it. Thanks
You leave foot prints for me to fallow TY
You’re welcome
Note to self, avoid parking near a Tent Trailer with loud Generator. 😉
LOL Hey Doug! We thought the same thing at first, but they did not run it much. And when they were running theirs, we were also running ours.
@@rvamericayall I now look at what kind of generators and where they're located since we will be neighbors before I park. Honda generators are the best (quietest) IMO
@@dougd9944 Good to know on the Hondas. Thanks
@@rvamericayall Love you guys 👍😁
@@dougd9944 Thanks! :)
Nice informative video of Padre island. Background music is too loud :-{
Thank you for the feedback Richard.
Enjoyed the video but hate music when y’all are talking could hardly hear Marc.
Thank you Sheryl
RV Texas Y'all sorry hate is a strong word. Lol I actually like your music and sounds compared to a lot of others. Also would love if y’all would give prices on the places you stay. Would be very helpful! Love y’all!
@@rvtimetraveler Thanks Sheryl! :) We're trying to remember to mention prices more often. We paid $50/night for our 50amp full hookup site at Padre Bali Park. The 30amp/water sites were $25/night.
Maybe cut the background music when talking/ interviewing?
Thanks for the feedback Bert.
Just be aware that its illegal to fly drones in state and federal parks.
We don’t but thanks for the tip!
Why do you continue to sell it even after admitting that its too hot and humid? You cant stay the night because its too hot and humid. Its a concrete parking lot, LMAO.
We weren’t in a parking lot, our site had its own pad & space. The 30amp sites are in the parking lot. Thanks for watching.
On our surround sound, half the time the music drowns out your speech and it just plain annoying. We have to turn the volume up to hear speech then the music just blares. We enjoy your videos but the music is annoying.
Thank you for the feedback Dennis.
