  • A complete and detailed tutorial on how to paint the Sunny Summer’s Day abstract
    Louise shows the process and deliberation taken to create this gentle memory of a summer’s day.
    You can speed up the playback time and skip through the process or you can take your time and observe the extensive marks that make up this deceptively detailed painting.
    Louise layers, pools and paints in a series of mark-making gestures to capture the memory of a light, ethereal summer sunshine.

    I thank you for this awesome video! What was critical for me as an abstract artist spreading my wings was your commentary throughout. I was able to get inside your thought process and not have to guess why you were doing something. Your creativity, your ability to communicate and teach process is superior. Thank you again so very much! I look forward to catching up on your channel.

    That was a wonderful journey through your creative process. I can’t help but reflect on how non random your seemingly random process actually is. It makes me look at abstract art a completely different way. You are always inspiring for me. I wish I lived in Britain, I’d love to visit an open studio or take a class.

      Soooo glad you enjoyed it! I love the whole process , the journey, the decissions, the uncertainty and the apparently random results. How close to real ife is that? XXXX

    What a treat! This is fantastic! I so enjoy watching you build on all the layers and steps to get to the final 'airy' piece! Hearing your reasoning and choices is very inspiring. I'm beginning to tap in to this form art, abstract, myself. So, I can't thank you enough!
    Just wanted to add that the process is the fun part!
    Cheers!

    It did remind me of a picnic on a summers day and of pretty quaint English tearooms. Most welcome on this snowy day and how magical that colours, their placement and subsequent energy can do all that. I would love to see you do an ‘opposite’ piece with dark colours, maybe evoking the feeling of depth and connectedness. Do you use anything other than gesso or acrylic medium to create texture? I have seen people use ‘grounds’? I think a crackle effect would looking stunning with the colours you used on this piece too. Wow, you have really got my imagination churning again Louise. Thank you so very much for sharing 😊

      Hi, glad you are enjoying it all and getting inspired. X, I haven't explored the crackle effect yet, but I look forward to it. I want ways to create the worn look of momigamied papers on canvas or calico.😀

    Beautiful result. Hope to see it without tape or even framed.

    • @LouiseJannetta
      @LouiseJannetta  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you, glad you like it. I don't think it will get framed, it was more of a sketch and a way of experiencing the possibilities of the colours, mark-making and acrylic medium attributes. Also, I did it on paper that was not very heavy, so I would not feel that it was robust enough.

    Love the way you paint when do you know when to stop. I liked it better about two shades back, but what do I know? Thank you

    • @LouiseJannetta
      @LouiseJannetta  Рік тому

      Hi Lynda, thank you. When you stop is so dictated by your own aesthetic taste and opinion and is linked if not tied to your specific style. xx Thank you for watching and for taking the time to get in touch. I hope the videos are helpful and look forward to hearing from you again. All the very best, Lou X😀

    I'm going to prove your initial point by saying that the colours are too pretty for me. But i am not the artist. A chacun son gout! However the point in videos to apply them to yourself and how you could use them. And there is here an abundance of technique: hairdryer, water, gesso grooves etc. I could see how you could apply these to say a rocky coastal landscape with plenty of brooding weather in the sky. Oh dear, how very male of me! Thx for this and other vids. Best r

      Thanks for the feedback; I agree that these techniques work very well for stonework and for rocks.😀 And thanks for appreciating all the techniques I have squashed into this video.😀 I have a tendency to use dark colours and did really enjoy the challenge of gentle, subtle, colours that did not rely on contrast but played with pattern, mark-making and light.

    I love smudges, smears, and splatters....but I soooo dislike "drippage"...I'm glad you don't do that drip thing. I also love to listen to you as you work. I have written down some of the things you say and use them as quotes! I do give you credit.
