I dont know why but this video inspired me to make my most uplifiting and happy sounding house track so far. just goes to show how much good vibes you put out there
Just signed up for your course! I am really excited to take my productions to the next level. How you teach speaks to me! I am ready to break ALL the rules!
@@stuartleighton Getting it for the sound design lessons alone is worth more than gold! That is what I am lacking at this point. Basic production - check, can create full tracks? check...signed by labels? check... leveling up to get signed by my favorite labels? That is where Oscar's classes will help me! ♥
@@dema4669 I use a combination of Underdog Music School, You Suck at Producing, and Seed to Stage. Have their paid stuff and about to get private lessons from Tim at ‘You Suck’. All three are a treasure trove of fantastic content, and have helped speed up my music production output. It’s a pity Oscar no longer does Bootcamps as I’d have definitely joined one, despite the large time difference (I’m in Shanghai). Did you sign up for techno course? If so let me know what you think of it. The Foundations course was cool, and I’d snap up a more intermediate / advanced course for sure.
@@stuartleighton I did sign up for the techno course and it is fantastic! Well worth the money and is the exact genre I am producing. Been watching his stuff for a while now, and finally signed up. I will check out the other channels you mentioned too, thanks!
I use the prophet 5. let's see how this goes and i will edit this towards the end of the vid. edit: halfway in and i do shit like this all the time because i make weird shit (i get compared to AFX often) and i am so happy you've shown people how to make new sounds from sounds they are familiar with. Top marks again, you are one of the best on this platform at this.
@@OscarUnderdog I learned a ton from that rumble mastery video. Wound up making my own Ableton audio effect rack from that knowledge bomb you dropped on me and have the macros mapped to the parameters I most frequently tweak. Great stuff!
It's funny, as an old school industrial devotee I found myself thinking that the version with pitch tracking reminded me a lot of Twitch era Ministry and Adrian Sherwood's amazing production. Back then it was a Fairlight sampling some weird sound.
I might try this today to add to my new acid house track. Even if it turns out shitty, which I'm sure it won't, it'll be a value learning experience especially working with LFO's which I haven't done much of. Then I might deep dive into Europa. Any chance of an in-depth tutorial into Europa, Oscar? Great tutorial once again!
Hey Osc(aaaaaaar)! You advised me last year to make use of the 90day free trial of Ableton (which I did). I never fully made the jump, as I'd just recently paid out £500 for Cubase 11 Pro. Well, I'm going to be making that jump now. The 'dongle' which Cubase 11 was reliant on BROKE, and Steinberg are refusing to replace my license, despite it being registered. All they offered me was 25hours of 'zero downtime' until they gave me the bad news. Its an insult. For Ableton to give you 90 days DONGLE free use of Live 11SUITE, and for Steinberg to give 25 hours to a paid up customer is, in my mind, disgusting. Anyway, thank s for the info back then, as it made it easy for me to turn away from Steinberg. Keep up the good work, and congratulations on the growing success of underdog on UA-cam.
What an ordeal! I think DAWs really should be focusing on growing their market share, not on maximising profits like in your case... The longterm survival of DAWs relies on them being used...
Very interesting how, having taken the tonal element away, the product should have such an obvious pitch. Just the one sample could generate so many potentially useful sounds. Wild.
Any chance there is a similar device for Ableton? Don’t wanna buy Reason just for this, but it’s tempting for sure. But Reason also has a very nice granular module which works well for what I do. Hmmm
you can try futurephonic's rhythmizer 2 - generates midi-chords easy and fast aaand it's simple to use ... great for basslines, melodies, .... ua-cam.com/video/kkuHMQ5-bjc/v-deo.html
I have watched many of your videos now. They are great, very helpful. I had to mention that in this particular video you reminded me so much of Kane from the Command and conquer series. If you never heard of it and fancy a laugh do a quick google (Kane Command and Conquer) and you will see what I mean 🤣
I love the content as a beginner. can u do something about track structure ? I struggle with it because I try make everything from scratch so I can actually learn , I also trying to don't use samples in order to learn .
To be honest you can use even a simple tracker noise sound and not the almighty DSI ver. 2 for what you are doing. Sorry.. but it's a total waste of that synth's potential.

Love the format of this video and the lighting, bigup Oscar!!
Cheers STRANJAH! 💙
Lol nice to see u propsing each other
You two should make a video together. Oscar producing dnb and Stranjah's take on techno would be for sure very interesting to hear!
Yes!!!!!
Your videos are so enjoyable
This is awesome, Oscar! I feel like I'm OG Underdog now.
Beautiful, beautiful stuff bud! Thank you 🙌🏻 BREAK ALL THE RULES!
Awesome work, as always... So many new possibilities open.

Loving the editing! Super funny and entertaining, as well as educational
Ohh boy!! This is dirty AF and so good!! More of this please!

Oscar’s paid stuff is great. I’m not really into techno but I’ll end up buying his course just to learn the techniques.

your kicks and rumble are fire man
Ohh boy!! This is sooo dirty and so good!! More of this please!
It was all usable to my ears.
And you can use it if you get it via patreon :)
Very good stuff oscar !
Again, masterpiece
dope video! camera was refocusing a lot and it was a bit distracting, just some feedback! we all love you Oscar!
I would really love to see a tut on how you did the perc loops. Awesome video!
Check out my Techno Rumbles Mastery video for that!

Always inspiring and entertaining! Grande!
I was just thinking to myself that I haven't played my Prophet in a while. What a coincidence.
great stuff...as always
I'd like to see you use that dfam you guys have laying around.
Ahh yes, hypnotic❤️
Looks like a camera focus getting crazy :D
Hahahaha yeah focus is so tricky when filming yourself. I might just slow down the autofocus speed, maybe it will feel less crazy...
Awesome, very useful video, that bass sounds like Umwelt lol
amazing! have you thought about doing livestreams? 😁 would be cool to see you more with gear, and to see how you incorperate it in your workflow
2:40 reminded me of the break in Hardcell’s track Square
It's funny, as an old school industrial devotee I found myself thinking that the version with pitch tracking reminded me a lot of Twitch era Ministry and Adrian Sherwood's amazing production. Back then it was a Fairlight sampling some weird sound.
I didn’t catch that until reading your comment. Definitely sounds like some sounds you would hear in the Twitch album.
What is ring modulation ?

Sample/hold LFO for start position of sample. Trim to taste
Was waiting for that too here :)
Thanks for the tip, great idea :D
"today we are going to try and break the camera auofocus" ehehe
Hahahahahaha busted
Please make that a track I'm blown away
This was inspiring Oscar!
Man!! Love all that you are doing! the video looks like you broke into someone's house and used your phone with no focus to record lol
Hahahaha too soon.
Very interesting tool
Awesome great music song so sound great audio great show
Amazing 😍 👍

would love to see how you make techno on the rytm mk2 🤞🏻
just love it! 😂👍👍
Very interesting how, having taken the tonal element away, the product should have such an obvious pitch. Just the one sample could generate so many potentially useful sounds. Wild.
Why not also use the velocity to automate the start point of the sampler clip?
Great video as usual, thanks. 👍
Good idea! Or an LFO to shift it around (perhaps randomly)?
Any chance there is a similar device for Ableton? Don’t wanna buy Reason just for this, but it’s tempting for sure. But Reason also has a very nice granular module which works well for what I do. Hmmm
You can try the 20bucks subscription (discount in the decription btw) to see if it fits your workflow! And then unsub if it doesn't!
Yeah just subscribe for a month (for forst time users it was like 3 euro a couple months back, idk if it was changed or not)
You wont regret it!!

Hahahahahahahaha too true :D
Hey Oscar what’s the gear above the sequential, to the left of the Elektron Analog Rytm?
It's a GR1 granular synth!
Break the mv-1 verselab. Maybe use the build in mic with a industrial spiral or something.
nice
Great video once again. Is bassline generator a separate purchase on top of buying reason or taking subscription?
Nope it's in the subscription! Use the link in the description for a discount too!
So your artist name is TORC
Ring modulation is the minor 9th of the audio effects 😁
I love the content as a beginner. can u do something about track structure ? I struggle with it because I try make everything from scratch so I can actually learn , I also trying to don't use samples in order to learn .
Do VCV! That's dope
🔥🔥❤️❤️

Very cool technique, I am sure I'm going to try it, but we must admit that the use of the Rev2 for this sound was kind of a huge overkill😊...
😂 agreed
What if we don’t have reason
Modulate the sample start and you're really getting somewhere.
wait til this guy hears about elektron
Hehe, I've got the Rytm MKII right here... the question is how to break it...
LFO to Sample start.
To be honest you can use even a simple tracker noise sound and not the almighty DSI ver. 2 for what you are doing. Sorry.. but it's a total waste of that synth's potential.
Turn the AF off
Nice sound design but I wouldn't really call it abusing the Prophet, you're just using the included features on the Prophet for sound design.
