The Glasgow made drink, Tennent’s, was the first pilsner type beer to be created in the UK, the first draught lager in the world and the first ever canned lager in the world. I'm a Glaswegian and I never touch the stuff.
Another brilliant video and good to see it was a decent length of 46min. However pal I have to pull you up on Teebay being in the Yorkshire Dales it's Cumbria 😂😂😂. Looking forward to the next one 🍺🍺🍺
Not exactly anging or minging, but I'd love to see you pub crawl around Dingle in County Kerry. It's obviously quite touristy, but we went in March so not too bad and just beautiful atmosphere.
Only live 10 miles from Greenock and just realised I've never been in pub there or Port Glasgow. Been in a couple in Gourock - not too exciting. Good little insights, but think I'll give it a miss. Looking forward to the next one.
Great video, glad you're showing more of the inside of the pubs instead of being in the outside area because of copyright music. Can't believe you were almost served that pint in the Carnock bar until the regulars spoke up.
Are you going to come to the Heart of Scotland, Perth Scotland? My suggestion If you was to come here, rough pubs wise. The Grill Bar, Robert Burns Bar and the Bee Bar. Ideally visiting on a Saturday/Friday. Ones for Atmosphere - King James Pub, Half a Tanner, Old Hoose and Slaintie. Best Guiness - Old Ship Inn. All pubs in the centre and within easy walking distance. You’ll have a laugh 🙏🏻
The Comet Bar did look excellent. It would have been interesting to cross the river to Dunoon, which is the sort of 'posh' neighbor of Greenock. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Highlands and Islands pubs. For possible future reference, my old home town of Blyth, Northumberland (and nearby Ashington) have some pretty rough pubs. In fact, my parents were landlord/landlady of one (The Fox and Hounds) in the 60s and 70s. But it got demolished for a new highway.
@@honestplaces It would be fun to see! For me, and for a lot of my school friends from 55 years ago :-) I'll certainly share your video with them if you ever darken the doorways of Blyth Boozers!
Inverclyde is Greenock, Gourock & Port Glasgow which all run into each other so it’s like a strip of 100.000 people Port Glasgow is the poorest with Gourock being the posher part with Greenock a mixture but mainly pretty poor since all the shipbuilding and heavy industries disappeared & were replaced with retail parks & a big Amazon warehouse etc
The Comet Bar was tasty, if you want a tasty boozer that’s like someone’s front room check out the Woolley Bridge Working Men’s Club near Hadfield its a small club in a terraced house with a snooker table upstairs! Been going since around 1880.
I’m from Port Glasgow. It’s not in Glasgow. It’s actually a town 20 plus miles from Glasgow. Greenock is another separate town a couple of miles from “The Port” You’re welcome! 💜🙋🏻♀️🏴
Should come to south woodham, we've got the worst pub (but in a good way, a phoenix nights way) in JD's and then one of the worlds greatest pubs just up the road in stow maries, the Prince of Wales.
Just like any English bus 😂 like you have travelled to deepest Africa. Good video enjoyed it on your way home you need to try some towns in Lanarkshire or Ayrshire.
I enjoy your content & channel & being Scottish I enjoy when you come up here & shall be tuning in to your adventures in Glasgow & up in the lovely scenic areas you plan on doing in your cracking van that seems well kitted out & a home from home in your adventures. I still think you should return to Paisley and do walk about and pub crawls there as it may be part of the Glasgow built up area but it’s it’s own place with plenty of boozers & friendly like most of Scotland. Paisley is a strange one as it’s part of the Glasgow built up area yet it’s it’s own town & area with slightly different culture to its big city neighbours in Glasgow yet it’s still 0141 code on phone mostly and it has the Boroughs of Renfrew, Johnstone and many little towns & villages making it Scotlands largest town outside its cities & it’s probably larger population than Dundee. Anyhow good watching you again in the UK which is much more engaging than New York stuff you did in my opinion 🎉
They called themselves Port Glasgow to attract the ships to the town instead of further up the Clyde at Govan dock. Bit of a trick. There used to be a bit of a rivalry between the area and Glasgow before Glasgow became what it is now. The municipal building In Greenock was also built slightly higher than the one in Glasgow city centre as another kind of one up on them. Greenock in the 1800s was the wealthiest place on the Clyde due to the ships docking and the trade. In the end Glasgow won and were still paying off the tower we built to one up them 😂😂😂😂😂 Glad you finally made it up to my wee hometown. At one time it was a proud place to live. Full of working men and women. Shameful.
Glad you recorded the derelict buildings before they are pulled down, shouldn't be allowed , it's history lost, i drove passed them in the 90s and you wouldn't of wanted to brake down in the area, looking forward to the next video,😎
Hundreds of years ago when you went into a inn, You were given a whistle and when you wanted a pint ( or quarter) you blew your whistle and a wench would serve you 👍
@honestplaces fair point...maybe tap into some fast WiFi on your travels. Definitely think longer videos would suit your content tho... Even if some of it is what they call b roll, dash cam footage, some drunk murdering a karaoke etc. Surely we are due a good old bar room fight at some point . Cheers mate, keep up the great work 👍🏻

Amazing man! May I recommend "The Brig Inn" in Barrhead, Glasgow, such an amazing boozer, you'd love it.

Love the VPN advert, but where is that cable coming from? 🤣

That estate reminded me of a song from gerry cinnamon. Knocked them down to build a road. Can't remember the name of the song 🤔

I just said Port Glasgow as it's name 🤣
You might want to try visiting the Faslane Peace Camp by the Trident sub base.
Was gonna but went for that remote pub instead init 🤣
@@honestplaces 😄
In case you don't know, the 20mg drink drive limit in Scotland is lower than England's 35mg, so half a pint could take you over the 20mg limit.
Yeh I've been editing each morning before heading off 👍 cheers pal
stop speaking english
is that cos the booze is pish north of the border?
That's pretty low. Crazy to think that the Usa is 80mg/dl
No, its to keep the drunk ar$eholes off the road.
