We've played at NHRF, MARF, KRF, MERF - we'd be ideal candidates if we didn't live on the exact wrong coast. Still, who knows? Once this plague is dealt with, maybe they'll invite us out!
I worked a summer at a Ren Faire and it was one of the funnest jobs I've had. I was just a smoothie mixer, but you're given a peasant costume. You end up developing a character for the faire really quickly. Mine was a goofy ex pirate with a penchant for going on long rants about the importance of smoothies throughout history. 😂
I know it's a Ren Faire but I like how everyone is so down to earth in this clip; I always liked how people were just kind of in your face and snarky sometimes, as opposed to places like Disney where everyone's just gonna kiss your ass all day. Your videos are awesome
Yeah, seasoned rennies who've met hundreds of people in mundane clothing asking the same questions. Most of the hardcore rennies do it full time, or travel state to state with the same acts.
We do, or atleast in Scotland we do, if you're nearby. We call them different things though. My two faves to go to every year (before covid) are the Bannockburn Reenactment and the Largs Viking Festival. Medieval costumes, bird shows, archery, so many cool crafts and foods and the big battle reenactments and they do take place at the actual historical sites yeah which adds to the cool factor.
I used to work at Scarborough, in Waxahachie, TX (near Dallas). I miss the fair. I retired to the Philippines, and the Renaissance has no meaning here ha ha. I gave my entire sword collection to my son.
This looked so much fun. Have always wanted to go to one. The way some booth vendors and visitors kept to theme and they had orange chicken. Inconceivable!!!
Having a good time watching year old videos. Had so much fun with you at the Ren Fair.💖 And visiting Disney before Galixys Edge opened made me very sad for the times we are in now. Thank you so much for taking me with you on your Ordinary Adventures!
Oh you missed it! If you had gone to the faire the year before, you would find a little shop called dungeon of dragons. Exactly what it sounded like. There were dragon eggs for sale there!
Watched it! You two crack me up. I went to a Renaissance Fair near Denver once, like 1991? I was visiting my friend and they took me. We have a very "authentic" medieval fair near Seattle in Carnation, Washington. It's more of a open air museum than a fair. Camlann Medieval Village. Not quite as jolly, but educational. Anyway! Kitra, I watched. 😉
1st non college run renn fair, and North Ca was created by same people same year!!!!! Renn Fairs are based on Period style festivals that happened in Europe, and some still do to this day!!
We have a pretty cool Ren fest, here in MI. Lots of really absurd fun to be had. Actually got a pair of those boots you showed, a birthday gift, and they are really cool. Super comfy!
Phyllis, when she was around more, tried to keep Norcal Ren Faire somewhat historically accurate. Looking at this video, there's a lot of fantasy involved. I love working Norcal, from 91-98. And I love visiting Casa de Fruita. I grew up with King Richards in Carver, although I left before it became a fantasy faire. I prefer the more historically based faires.
Next time you attend, you are missing out if you don't stop to see "Broon" and "Moonie the Magnificent". They both perform at different times on the same stage.
I have not been to the Ren Faire at it's current location. I went a long time ago to the one at Glen Helen Regional Park and one in Houston on the way to New Orleans. Have you been to the one in Riverside county?
Ordinary Adventures makes sense... what’s the best advice on getting passes? Should I just try contacting ppl who have upcoming shows and wish for the best? Btw great videos
Ten fest is always tons of fun where I live. But they really are ripping people off with those wands. Really?! A stick with a thing of quartz taped on it and selling it for 40 to $60 🙄
@@OrdinaryAdventures Looks to me like too much of that fair is tents. TRF (Houston) and Scarborough (Dallas) have mostly permanent structures. They are in dedicated sites, so the vendors build nice wood buildings. Many of them live onsite during the run of the fair. All fairs are fun, though 😎
This Ren Faire did at one time have permanent semi permanent structures at Glen Helen Regional Park. I believe it burned in a fire. I've only been to Glen Helen (20 yrs ago) and the one near Houston. The end of the day they did a drum parade of sorts to mark the close of faire that was really fun.
Have any of you ever been to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California?
I went a few years ago! Amazing time.
Adventures try Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin. Always voted best in nation.
Whereabouts is this held in SC? It just coming up to Ren Fest Season in AZ.
@@markspottek2834 The same company does both plus the New York Ren Faire!

“Sir you’ve got a rat on your hat”
“No I’m just happy to see you”
Best moment XD
Haha

@@Guest-wr4bj I feel like I would have a great time doing that
I wish we had these in the UK. But then i remember we have actual medieval history sites.

I wish we had actual medieval festivals like you have in the UK.
Yeah… but that’s not what ren faire is.
We do, Warwick castle for starters, go there a few times a year
Next year you've got to dress up, it adds to the fun. In the bird show did the kookaburra laugh? Makes for an interesting dawn chorus.
So amazing you guys she’s light on this! Me and my family go every year and have been since I was young (: it’s such a gem
Good finds and good food!

Thanks so much Monica for watching our older vids 😊🙌 some might be.. a little rough but I remember really enjoying this one 😂
I love ren fairs. You do some of the best merch vlogs. This had my favorite merch yet.
Thanks!
Wooo!!! Great job guys! Another fantastic adventure. Anything but ordinary.
Thanks!
Brought soo many memories as a kid! Ty for the video!
I want to go and keep missing it. Thanks for the video !
My old home when it was in Davore....I sure miss it...
Finally watched the gem ☺️ I love how you interact with the people there. The wishing beans guy cracked me up!!! 😆😆😆
This video is one unwatched early gems on the channel I think

🙌 🧙♂️
I've been dying to go to the Texas Renfest for years but after watching this video, LA is where it's at! Rat Man and a turtle race?! Sign me up!
The ren fair looked like an awesome adventure 😃😃
This fair looks so fun! I'd love to try it someday, looks much bigger than the NorCal one I've been to. Magical times!

So when are y’all coming up to the Northern California rennisance faire hmmmmm???
Here after watching the new one!
Yay!
The lightsaber wand is cool
🙌
Looks like a real fun Fest 🙂
It is! Too bad it’s canceled this year, but understandable
I’m pretty sure the song at 6:20 is the song that Jack and Rose dance to at the common folk party in Titanic.
Really?! That’s so cool. Kitra loves titanic 😊
I knew that sounded familiar!
I just discovered this video of yours. I love the part with the puppets from Imaginarium Galleries. I actually have two from them.
They are cool
Next time you attend, you are missing out if you don't stop to see "Broon" and "Moonie the Magnificent". They both perform at different times on the same stage.

Lightsaber wands!
So good
You guys seem fun to hang out with!
Best compliment ever
Yall are fun people
Thanks 🙏
Time for you two to hit another renfest.
YES
I need to go to the one here in Texas...its an experience I need to visit...although I do hear it can get weird.
Love ren fairs

I wanna ride the giant swings!
Obi-Wand-Kenobi

So sad, my schools orchestra and band were going to go to our local ren fair last year but corona ruined it :(
😢
Your bud is Blues fan huh? 👀 I'm a fan of anyone who likes hockey 🏒🐧
Ah, the road not taken - just imagine what could've been, Ordinary Adventures, the Ren Fair channel! Yikes!
We love a good Ren Faire 🤷♀️
No, no no, not Qui-Gon...Obi-Wand!
Ha that’s a good one
Arggggg at 15:20 I saw JARETH !!!!!!!

Me too. I really hope Halloween events are open this year 😞

You ate the fish n chips in the most american way possible

Nobody really died at the jousting match did they?
No not really, it was theatrical
Can you help with a guest pass to magic castle in la?
Sorry I can only give passes to people I personally know since I am responsible for their behavior in the club.

it’s because everything is handmade, it is a little pricey i do agree but some pieces can actually take longer than you would think
I love going to Ren Fairs butt I dress up, it is more fun!
I see you are friend with Zack Galifianakis.
Haha
I was just thinking that lmao
They have italian at the ren fare?! I died.
Lol they have it all! It’s the best
i love Californians
$200 for a metal shirt sounds cheap
True
I hope the death part was fake :o
Dat accent tho' ^_^

Texas ren fair > Cali ren fair
