- Join me for the first renaissance fair of 2021 - the Brevard Renaissance Fair in Melbourne, FL, for the FANTASY themed WEEKEND! We explore the fair, check out some unique vendors, listen to so much amazing music, I share some fun facts and information as always, and we end the day with the burning of the Wicker Man, where I and other patrons got to include our wishes, and of course the final pub sing! Join me for an interesting day of merriment with my best friend as we soak in the sights, sounds and smells of a renaissance village!

A Renaissance Fair is a recreation of a Renaissance or Medieval village. They are filled with costumed actors, crafts and games to give patrons the illusion that they have stepped back in time. The Brevard Renaissance Fair features 100’s of performances on many stages and in the lanes and over 100 craftspeople set inside of Wickham Park woods. - Brevard Renaissance Fair, 2021

Thank you for sharing your day Jackie, I work with many of these entertainers here in Colorado at the Renaissance Fair and it is good to see them back in front of an audience doing what they love.
If the world ever returns to normal and you come out to California on a trip, you need to plan it around the renaissance fair we have out here. It’s HUGE and awesome. I think it was the first ren fair in the US too. You’d love it!

Aw, I recognize my old friends from Noble Cause in that joust!! That wicker man is a cool idea...have to pass that along to my friends at PaRF because they love their pyro up here. Love that they did Health To The Company...one of my fav songs from my ren faire days.

I've been going to our renaissance fair for so many years I don't know how many at least 20 years it's moved to three different locations through the years and I followed it ! I was so sad that they had to cancel it this year! if you are ever over here in Northern California September October time frame you have to check it out it is really good!

Jackie I really enjoy watching these renaissance festivals! I'm glad they did put something together. I like seeing everyone dressed, the dancing and the music! Fun times! Hopefully you will be able to do more of these in the future.

Such a great Renn Faire! I have such wonderful memories of attending the Renn Faire in Novato, CA at Black Pointe Forest, back in the day. It was absolutely awesome in that it was situated in a small valley surrounded by Oak trees, and once you entered it, you truly felt as if you had gone back in time, as it was out in the country away from cities.
The fun and imagination that are part of every Renn Faire make them truly wonderful places to visit and take a break from the world. You had a marvelous time, Jackie, thanks for another great visit! ☺️

Our daughter attended a few renaissance fairs within the last year. It is nice to see how they keep it safe for their guests. I do think green works well for you. Sounds something similar to a New Year’s Eve tradition that Family friends have. That is you write something that was hard in the year before and then at midnight the straw doll gets burned.

I recognize Henry from last year!... Which makes a lot of sense -- King Henry is still King Henry -- he sure gets around! So glad to see a Ren Faire this year and that you got to go! I understand how hard masks can be at an event like this, especially for actors, but I was disappointed by how many visitors didn't seem to care about theirs. Still looked like a blast!

Hello! Me and my 3 year old daughter are going next weekend! You mentioned in the end you went with your friend and her daughter. Does she have any tips for bringing a child there? I have no idea what to pack! The last time I went to a renaissance fair I was a child myself so this is new territory haha! Wonderful video! Thank you for posting! ❤️
So my friends daughter wore a Renaissance dress but I think she had a backup outfit in the car just in case. We knew that we just had to keep her entertained and relaxed and the day went really smoothly! She really liked the music and danced with us and had fun! There are lots of kids activities like a jumping thing she did and loved. She brought a variety of small snacks and water too and that ended up being crucial bc fair food is, well, fair food haha! Hope this helps and hope you and your daughter have a great time!

One of the first faires I gained knowledge of outside of Pennsylvania was the one in Deerfield Beach because of Celtic Mayhem's cover of Wild Colonial Boy they did one Easter weekend. A lot of the faires I looked up are for some reason rarley less than 30mins from an amusement park. I think New York will be like 30mins away from Legoand New York, most are 40-60mins (PARF to Hersheypark, Ohio to Kings Island. Houston's is closer to 90 mins north of Kemah & Galveston).
Living 3 miles from Wickham Park I really enjoyed these faire.

I used to be a character actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival and had a blast. We LOVED when people came through that were as enthusiastic as you, as it made our job so much easier and much more fun.
I was on cast at the Pennsylvania Ren Faire for many years too and AGREED! It was so much more fun to play with people who were willing to play.

My Ren Fair, (Arizona Renaissance Festival) is closed this year and was cut short last year due to the pandemic. I miss my Fair friends and family. Here is to 2022, may we meet again.

A lot of ren faire performers travel around to many faires so it's very possible! I've seen many of the same performers and acts at multiple fairs.

Wife and I wore our pirate (fair garb) to a Halloween party a few years ago at Magic Kingdom. It was so much fun. We do Michigan Renn fair every year.

My home festival is the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin, and it is one of the best in the country, I’d have to say. Haven’t been there in a few years, so hopefully it is in operation this year. Oh, and by the way, I’ve played Dungeons and Dragons for over 30 years, so I know my way around 20-sided dice. I’m a nerd and proud of it! My favorite hobby in the world! Huzzah!
