Huzzah! This was so exciting to watch. I remember a little while back in a Patreon livestream I asked if you guys would do another Ren Faire video (‘cause I love your 2019 video so much!) and here it is!!! This was so much fun to watch and has me excited for Ren Faire season here in PA. Thanks Peter & Kitra!
It’s our family’s Faire. We were looking forward to the first weekend (which got canceled because of flooding) so sad. This video helped. You did show our booth that my sister manages, Puzzle Rings. Thank U so much!!!
What I love about this channel is that me and my six month old son have been on so many adventures, all over, and have never had to leave our living room. This is such wholesome fun, and I can tell my little guy loves every minute of it and gets so much wonder from all of it.
Yes!!!! I love ren faires! My town hosts the Canterbury Faire each year and it's always a great time, the jousting is a can't-miss. Glad to see you both had fun! ^V^
I've been going to the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire since I was a kid, and it's always so much fun. I actually started working it in 2019, and this is my third season. I work the counter at the poke booth. The Faire is stupidly expensive at times, but it's an awesome experience. There's so much to do and see and encounter. I'm glad you enjoyed your time there for opening weekend.
I absolutely love the Ren Faire, I started dressing up a couple years ago and its so much fun. My favorite show at our local faire is definitely the washing wenches, they are a hoot.
Went to my very first Ren Faire in 1987. Met my future husband that day. That was when the faire was in Agoura Hills north of Los Angeles. Fun times! Dressing up is worth it!
The wooden board game was invented by Robert Moore, first published in New Zealand 1978, and is called 'Cathedral'. The American publisher had a booth at the Southern California Renaissance Faire ca. 1980 (just downhill from Witch's Wood) and you could win a free copy of the game by beating one of the booth people, which is how I obtained my copy. TV personality John Davidson had brought the game to the U.S. from New Zealand, and was the pitch man at the Faire booth. It is not medieval except in theme - the subtitle was (and apparently still is) "The Game of the Medieval City". At one time, Mattel Toys published a plastic version. Amazon seems to have a current-vintage wooden version for $50.
I am the left handed instructor at 10:09. We teach foil at the fair which is a point/stab only weapon. You won't lose an ear but you will be stabbed :) "are you tired rundown listless, are you unpoopular? Do you pop out at parties? The answers to all your problems as a fencing lesson. Yes with a fencing lesson you can be the life of the party once you've stabbed everyone else."
ANYTHING animal related! Zoos, aquariums, would LOVE to see a San Diego safari park tour - I know kitra loves animals as much as I do 💕🐾 have loved seeing the little bit of animal on content in aulani and Disney world videos.
@@OrdinaryAdventures Other socal food festivals and attractions that are more affordable than theme parks but just as fun! :) Dog friendly places too please!
National Parks, Alcatraz, Zoos, Aquariums, Hollywood sign, National Monuments, Piers, Boardwalks, Museums. We all love you guys and your content. The camera and editing skills are some of the best on UA-cam. I think it’s safe to say we’re all ready for you guys to take your skills and branch out to a straight up travel show.
Huzzah!! Love the Renn Faires. I usually visit the Northern CA Faire at Casa de Fruta. So many of my friends that love Sci-Fi, Star Wars, Cosplay comventions also love Renn Faire. You guys need costumes! I can totally see both Kitra and Peter fitting right in and looking fabulous in the costumes!
LOVE The Renaissance Faire!! 💜💜💜 My hubby once got lost looking for the privy and asking for the restroom and all the people working there stayed in character and would ask what is a restroom? 😅😅😅 he eventually found them 😂🎉
The guy with the passport....brilliant actor! Would love to see him in a movie sometime. His accent, voice, mannerisms...spot on not overly acted. Genuine article! Love Ren Faires!
The TX Ren Faire is the biggest in the world and it runs from Oct-Nov, I believe! Would suggest checking that one out if you ever get a chance :D There's one about half the size called Scarborough Faire and it's from Apr-May. Also holy balls, the food prices there are insane. Ren faire food here is expensive (Texas) but still cheaper than what you guys paid. Kinda interesting to see the diff.
Personally, I’m LOVING all the content you put out! I’m living through you while you eat root beer churros and drinks with popping boba! Loved this video too! Thanks for bringing us along!
I totally loved this video, you both always make the most amazing videos of your adventures. As a Renfest Nerd from S. Fla my fest is known as Flarf and I saw many of the same acts that I know in love especially Broon and Lady Catherine. Huzzah to more of your adventures!
How fun! Great vid, guys. I only went there once when I used to live in Cali for 6th grade field trip so that was in 1990. Still looks. Glad you both had fun. Salud 🍻 PS: wifey loved your flower crown.
Fun fact! The Renaissance Faire in Wisconsin has been ranked the best in the US for like a decade straight. It is an absolute must do for me every year. It's weird to see the same performers in this video that come to our faire! Great video!
Are you referring to the Bristol Ren Faire in Kenosha? I'm in Chicago so that's the one for this area. I agree it is an excellent set up. The permanent structures make it such an immersive experience. Interestingly I grew up in California and attended the SoCal and Bay Area Ren faires. Out of those two I prefer the Bay Area to the SoCal. But Bristol has the best layout.
I really enjoyed this video, in concept I’ve always wanted to go to a Ren Fair but now I have a good ides what they are like and really want to go now!
Ohhh, you are in my world now… worked the faire circuit for 20 years as an entertainer… only did Southern for one season. Several friends down there still. Whips and cracks (Randy) is a good friend and neighbor. Some of the better food deals are long gone now… food is expensive because REC gets a percentage on top of what the vendor normally charges. Glad you caught Moonie (he is the nicest guy and one of the heads of RECUE which is a charity organization to help participants who are sick and injured, because the company offers no insurance.) I stopped going once they moved from Devore to Irwindale (no participant camping). My wife is a henna artist and put together the books for them. Each booth is an independent vendor except for Beverage due to ABC laws (REC gets a percentage from them as well. It is a hefty “tax” like 20 to 30% upcharge.) Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
It arguably is a direct descendant of the oldest Ren Faires in the world… starting as an education event in the backyard in West Hollywood when the Pattersons built a gipsy wagon and taught some friends of mine Comedia del Arte. There are still some of those folks around…. The history is mostly oral, but there is a museum in Novato (Living History Center.)
WOW!! IT looks just as amazing as our biggest fair out here in Bonner Springs, Missouri! Maybe you guys should try THAT one some time too; in addition to a lot of cool stuff like the kind you shared, we also have a thriving Pirate community, Steampunkers, real antiques for sale, and even FALCONRY!!! =D
I went opening weekend! I go at least once a season to check the vendors and try the food. I love seeing The Merry Wives of Windsor. I watched a bit of Clan Tynker's show this year. I still stay only a few hours (heat and crowds) but always have a blast.
@Ordinary Adventures yep. This weekend may be better for pictures and costumes (the theme is RennCon so cosplay is encouraged) but the weather looks too hot for me. "Honey... don't do that.." omg that floored me... Kitra you were rocking cuteness with that crown... and Peter, love the haircut man! Lookin sharp. Thanks again for sharing your adventures and have a great week you two. Lookin forward to the next one.
Yes, this faire looks so awesome & wholesome! This adventure video definitely makes me want to go 💕 We had the first ever Hawaii Renn Faire at Honoka'a here on the Big Island & I'm looking forward to the next one. I think this might be a faire Jacques ze Whipper performs at, he's so entertaining & hilarious!
Looking at those prices i was shocked than i realised its usd and converted it to my curency in my head and i was absolutely floored holy sht… those prices are insanity
I had a day where everything was going wrong (only minor annoyances but enough of them!) so this was a great surprise to watch during my lunch break. I love the medieval/Renaissance re-enactments, we have something similar here in Alberta where guests can stay overnight either in a medieval camp, Hobbit house or wagons. I thought my $9 drinks at our RenFest here in Bonner Springs, Ks was ridiculous expensive. Man was I wrong. I already hot my season pass, cannot WAIT. It's always interesting to see other fairest, thanks for sharing.
I highly recommend the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Faire in Nevada! You think our Southern Faire is big? Wait until you see that one! AoC took me 2 days to walk and guilds have whole sections to build their guild yard. I got a plant from the hobbits when I went. The Pleasure Faire (Southern Faire) is only the tip of the iceberg and doesn't have guilds volunteering like others do!
As someone from Europe these renaissance festivals are kinda strange and very American. I'd love to go!!! (i mean strange and american in the BEST possible way :D)
I look forward to Renfaire food. I basically expect to spend around $50+ on food for me and my daughter when we go. But I plan on more and if I get home with some leftover it's a win.
This was such a fun video! It was cool to see a few people I know from the faire I work at in MA too! The man you showed at the booth selling the dancing wings, I sold him that outfit!
@@OrdinaryAdventures if you two decide you wanna dress up for next year I’d love to give you guys some pointers! I work for a costume company that sells such nice stuff Disney actually uses them! The girls at the beginning and end of the Boo to You parade carrying the signs are wearing outfits made entirely out of pieces we sell!
Great video. I love Ren Fairs. I’ve been going to them most of my life. On and off. My cousin is a blacksmith in the Arizona Ren circuit. He was there for 2 1/2 months. My local Ren fair moved to 2 hrs away. Mmm, sorry not going.
I do be glad you had a wonderful time at our Faire, but I shall keep my eyes peeled should you return lest you try to steal my cabbages again!

AoC took me 2 days to walk and guilds have whole sections to build their guild yard. I got a plant from the hobbits when I went. The Pleasure Faire (Southern Faire) is only the tip of the iceberg and doesn't have guilds volunteering like others do!
Would like to check that one out someday
As someone from Europe these renaissance festivals are kinda strange and very American. I'd love to go!!! (i mean strange and american in the BEST possible way :D)
Haha
I look forward to Renfaire food. I basically expect to spend around $50+ on food for me and my daughter when we go. But I plan on more and if I get home with some leftover it's a win.
This year at this fair I think you’d have to be at $60-70
@@OrdinaryAdventures well I live in Ohio and the Ohio Ren festival is where I go, but I will keep our current increase in the cost of living in mind
This was such a fun video! It was cool to see a few people I know from the faire I work at in MA too! The man you showed at the booth selling the dancing wings, I sold him that outfit!
So cool!
You can get Chimney Cakes in Anaheim at the House of Chimney Cakes at the Center Street Promenade Great Video
🤤
I was there on Sunday too! So bummed to have missed you guys! 😭
Next time!
Great video. I love Ren Fairs. I’ve been going to them most of my life. On and off. My cousin is a blacksmith in the Arizona Ren circuit. He was there for 2 1/2 months. My local Ren fair moved to 2 hrs away. Mmm, sorry not going.
Very cool!
