That brings back memories of when the trains used to run there when I was a kid. Also I used to walk those tracks from Westport to Fall River to go to work at the Plymouth ave McDonalds.
It looks like the line, even though cut, still has lots of business. Perhaps Mass Coastal can get a grant to get some ties, ballast and do some alignment and tamping.
The line passes many industries but I think only 3 are actual customers right now- Dartmouth Building, Colonial Beverage and Mid City Scrap - but there's lots of potential. But so long as it's active it is eligible. Probably once commuter rail gets going the line will be needed for daytime storage too.
The MBTA will go to Fall River via the Fall River line so there’s not much reason to build that section. Going to Providence would be great but cost prohibitive.
It only ever went to Watuppa station on Plymouth Ave. Then you got on a Trolley to Ferry street for connections to Providence, Newport or the Fall River Line Steamships. I'd like to see MBTA activate the Middleboro secondary from Cotley to Attleboro maybe as a shuttle. That would connect the entire Southcoast/Middleboro Line to the Providence Line and Amtrak in Attleboro.

I look forward to seeing this branch get the same upgrades as the rest of the lines in the region! Would be a line to create a storage yard along.

@@SouthCoastRailVideos absolutely my friend!
A long time ago, they were actually thinking of using this for south coast rail to go from Fall River to New Bedford and then up through Taunton.
Thanks for watching!
Do You know if there is a chance that they will do some track work. Tamp the Rail Joints and Aligne the Rail and add some Ties and Balace?
I’m hopefully they’ll be doing upgrades within the next couple years

Wish the MBTA could use this line and somehow extend it to Fall River and beyond to providence.
