That’s a great question. I was wondering how the proposed new Sagamore bridge replacement will impact this area? Obviously they’ll be going over this track somewhere, but I was wondering if it will be on the east or west side of the current bridge?
That old ATSF geep is just what ATSF was using in Wichita when the city thought theyd put some grade crossings across the retched remnant of the old Englewood District. ATSF said Hell no. Now Wi hita has some dead end streets, and Watco doesnt hafta deal with those grade crossings that never happened.
I remember. Well done. September 2024 ??? You mean 2023 to start ? I’m curious - rolling forward to this past summer, “First paid freight since 2011” - what kind of freight, and with the two cars left well beyond the shelter, how will the company move the cars around to either unload or load them ? Thank you.
I think "siding" in this case refers to the siderail which forks off the main track, allowing rail access, in this situation, to the white building which has the old gondola parked in it at the video's opening scene.
It was never "abandoned" in the first place. The railroad owned it, and reserved the right to restore it to service at their deception. That city, county, township, state, asphalt over the rails never meant a damn thing. That was always railroad property. Anybody who thought not could get a reeducation real quick.
I know you want to make it look interesting, but watching this on my 55" TV makes me seasick with all the fast zooms and pans. Better to take short 3-5 second shots, then zoom or move a bit, and shoot some more. If it is live action, and you don't want to miss anything, then you want to do slower moves and zooms.
The abandoned line was abandoned because of the decline of business, no revenue, no reason to need it and government doesn't care, it's now a tax wright off and America continues to die and government continues to kill off our country.
How encouraging to see something like this during these days when rail infrastructure is fast disappearing! Thanks for documenting and sharing!
Wonderful stuff!
Excellent!!!
❤❤❤
Can’t wait to see the first shipment
It’s in the video
1920's filming style -track workers speeded up at 27:13 !! Great job - will there be a switch at both ends, to enable a pull through ??
👏👏👏
Well done
Were they able to use the old rails or did they need replacement? Also, I like seeing old tracks being resurrected and being put to use again.

@@jerrys9226Contact the Corps of Engineers they may have some idea. I wager one bridge will cost half of the Big Dig pricetag.
I believe they are the original tracks.

The video was filmed between Spring 2023 and Summer 2024
The caption should read September 2023 though
So now that its been completed, who's the customer, and what's their commodity ?
Nice to see an old siding brought back to life. Tell me please, was there a pit in place before, or is it new and what is the purpose of it?
This is how abandoned railroad was restored
Was the old gon scrapped?
It was eventually pushed out of the way to the end of the siding

Are there any other channels similar to yours, but covering other states in the US?
What is this old line anyway? Those are what ive always referred to as "passenger train curves".
Totalmente enterrada la vía.
What do you mean by siding?

😂I think you meant "discretion," not "deception"?😊
@@LynneWilliams-bi1tx I did. My spellcheck did that. I hate that thing.
@@Jeff-fx1zy This is not something i wrote! My name is very common. LOL!
Now be honest: weren't you glad when that dumpster full of seafood garbage was moved away from the tracks. Made breathing a lot easier 😉

They own it. NS, CSX, or whoever the hell, can do what they want, when they want. End of disscussion.
What business is that spur servicing?

This spellcheck pisses me off. What I said was "at their descretion". I checked it that time.
at their discretion!
