Hi all, I wrote to LTA about when it is going to open. this is what they said: We noted your concern that Teck Lee Station is not open for service, even though it was built in 2002 together with Punggol West Loop. When determining whether a station should open for service, LTA takes into consideration if there are sufficient developments around the station. We have to ensure that it is economically and financially viable to justify the opening of a station. Currently, there are insufficient developments to justify the opening of Teck Lee Station. However, we note that Teck Lee Station is located near to the vicinity of the recently announced Punggol Digital District. The district will contain mixed-use developments, including digital and cybersecurity industries. The new Singapore Institute of Technology campus will also be in the same area. Teck Lee station will open in tandem with these new developments in the area.
I boarded the punggol lrt on a Tuesday at around 4:30pm towards Samudera, there was a staff member who boarded the lrt at Teck Lee, the doors opened and the station really showed its age, especially the floor which was covered in grime and the steps leading down to the first level.
