Thank you for the following: 1) you didn’t speed it up and you did the crochet slowly the entire time. 2) bright light 3) great angle of your camera 4) you were very clear in your instructions without adding chatter. Thank you!
This pattern is so cool, I love how it doesn't have you cutting and tying back on the colors, just continuing in that color's section. Looking forward to doing this for coasters with black, white, and two different shades of grey. I love challenging myself with new patterns to increase my knowledge and skill level.
Its beautiful! I did white and three different shades of blue so it looks like a wave and I am using it to make a beach bucket hat! Cant wait till its done.
I looked at the finished results of your swirly square and thought that there was no way I could do this, but I tried and I'm so pleased with the result. This is down to having a really great teacher who showed me what to do every step of the way. You inspire me to learn new things and remind me that as long as there are people like you who can show us what to do, we can accomplish many things that we though were beyond our reach. Thank you so very much for such wonderful tutorials, your time and your patience.
This was an amazing tutorial! I just started learning how to crochet and thought that this might be too difficult but no it was a breeze. I love how you made it along with the viewer and didn't skip ahead.
Im a begginer and at first i thought it would take me days to crochet, turns out it took me barely 40 minutes. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand. Thank you!❤️
This was super super helpful! And the fact that you stayed throughout the video and didnt fast forward like a few others was really helpful in learning this pattern! Thank you❤
This pattern is so amazing, I had no idea there were tutorials on the internet . I've been making granny squares the same way for over 50 years. Thank you for your teaching style everything is very clear and easy to follow. Wow! I'll be making spirals from now on. Thank you!
Your text brought me back to the day I found the tutorials. I was so excited to see all the goodies there are, it is hard to get my other work done. God bless you, and happy crocheting.
this tutorial is the absolute best! thank you for crocheting slowly, explaining everything step-by-step, and counting as you go. i can see where your hook goes all the way through, so i don't have to guess the in-between with lots of trial and error. super clear and helpful. thank youu!!!
Your tutorial is wonderful, it is very easy to follow and make, Those that do not like it must not understand sometimes people need clear concise directions like you give, keep up the good work, love the video!!!
Everyone wants to do well in explaining tutorials. You are one of the best . You do not stop, you keep on explaining. I truly need the extra help and you give it. Some times its not clear to me at first but than it clears up in my brain the third and fifth time. That's why I work on your tutorials. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much for being such a good teacher, you also explain it clearly and slowly. This helps a lot. Many go so fast so I do skip theirs because I want to do the patterns but the understanding is not there. I am one of your biggest followers. Thank You so much.....Phyllis Patrick
I'm so happy you are enjoying my tutorials Phyllis! Thank you so much for your kind feedback. With regards to your printing issue where are you trying to print from exactly? is it from my website or blog? not sure how printing works from my blog as Google control that but on my website there should be a printer friendly version button in pink. Sadly I haven't added this pattern yet to my website but I will do shortly. www.happyberry.co.uk
What a unique design, I just had to give it a try! I love stitching different colors without having to cut or carry under stitches. I did use stitch markers to hold the stitches not in use and found it super helpful.
I absolutely love this pattern, thank you for sharing. I have decided to make a blanket with this pattern, the only thing I did differently was I started with a magic circle so that I would be able to close the center tighter.
I love how she makes sure you can see what she is doing. I'm re teaching myself again. Trying to remember how to do the stiches and what they mean. I've watched many videos and i just get lost and mad. Thank you for taking your time for us and any beginner for explaining things for us going to check out your other videos
This was so easy! I couldn't have done it without your great instruction though. You are a wonderful teacher and I appreciate that you spent your time & creative energy on this video!
Five years after your great video, I'm just beginning to crochet. Thanks for this helpful tutorial. I made my first spiral successfully, and it was so fun!
I love your tutorials, they're so easy to follow and I like it that you go through the steps carefully and not just rush through them like so many others. I'm a beginner at crocheting and I tend to give up very easily if there's something I don't understand, but with your videos I never give up. I'll try to crochet this as soon as I get home. :)
Thank you. Very easy and now I have an idea for my husband's aunts blanket I'm making for Christmas. She was so jealous last year when I gave my mother in law the granny square blanket I made. So I'm using some of the same colors and making this.
This was absolutely the most patient tutorial I have ever watched. I think I could have gone along with you if I had the yarn. I will be making these. So cute and pretty. ❤️
What a wonderful video. Your words and actions are perfectly easy to understand and what was great....you actually finished the entire pattern right up to ending off!!! You are a great teacher!!! Thank you for sharing your God-given talents!!!
Wow... I've been crocheting for YEARS and never knew truly what to do with the ends! YOU are the first person in all the videos I've watched or patterns I've read to enlighten me on how to do this. THANK YOU!!!
This is a phenomenal concept! I can see this as a wonderful topper for any sized round or square table. You patiently demonstrated and named and counted every single stitch in every color in every sequence. I don’t usually comment, but your video compelled me to say a hearty “Atta Girl!” Thank so much! 34:42
Best tutorial ever. You go very slow and explain it so well....i picked up on it right away and have made 3 pillow using these swirls. Thank-you so much.
I am experienced in crochet and when I first started I found UA-cam videos so hard to follow as they never explained what they were doing and went so fast !! Your video is a breeze and I really enjoyed watching it 🌸
I love patterns like this, that look super intricate but are actually easy to do (once you get a hang of it, that is). Thank you for a great tutorial!!
thank you for this tutorial. I made them. couldn't do a proper joining for a bag coz of the rounded corners so I added an edging of one row of sc with 5sc in each corner
I planned to do a granny square sampler afghan. Many tutorial squares stop with 3 rows. If you're planning to combine this square with others from other tutorials, note that this square is a "4 row" size square. (If you want a "3 row" version, just stop when she says "now we'll start the last row" and just do the finishing steps.)
This pattern was soo good I liked that u stayed the whole way through and didn’t skip so u left it up to us if we wanted to skip or not and I’m abt to make it nowwwwwwww eeeeekkk!
Absolutely well made tutorial. Looks difficult, but it's so easy. I am a newbie to crocheting, and I have no ideas on how to do things. So I just tought to give this a try. I passed with flying colours! I usually abandon halfway trough because it's too tiring to listen or follow the tutorials. This is a first until the end ! I'm very happy. Thank you! I will definitely follow your channel for more 😇
Beautiful, Thank you for teaching the pattern, I thought it was a dificult to do it. But you explain it so good. And you always use those lovely color and beautiful 🧶. Thanks you for this tutorial.
Absolute love the pattern BUT your tutorial is just FAB. Thank you. So easy to follow along with clear instructions. I am definitely going to go look for your other projects.
Going to combine this using cotton with a scrubbie side for doing dishes and cleaning up! Maybe even make a unique afghan for my new grandson! Thanks for sharing!
Love this one! Easy yet challenging at the same time. I would start with a magic circle and I can imagine this increasing to one very large square that could be made into a cardigan with the square covering the back, then adding sleeves etc. thanks ❣️
Great tutorial, I cannot fathom why there are down votes. What are they not liking?? It is clear, accurate and not filled with music that breaks the ears, so...? Well done in my opinion.
You are an amazing teacher I must say! You made this soooo easy. You took your time and made sure I could see each chain, etc. and explained every detail needed. I have zero questions on this. I watch a lot of crocheting videos and this is the BEST taught one I have ever seen. Very Very Much appreciated!!!!!!!!!
Amazing tutorial! Thank you. Just a note to anyone who may be trying this with alternating two colours: Use a stitch marker for your starting row! My needle slipped out when I put mine down and I had to frog the whole thing because I had no clue which was my starting row ... despite several backtracks.
Love this tutorial! I'm still considered as a beginner crocheter but I made this spiral design using your tutorial! I was not confused or anything and that's a good thing ^-^ Again, thank you for sharing this cool pattern and technique!
The swirl is just eyecatching! Very different. Thank you. I think I might make my squares just a little bigger as starting them is quite a labour of love. Shops closed now .... going to buy my four colours tomorrow and start
Endless possibilities with this one! I’ve made coasters before but this was my first granny square. Easy weekend project. The trickiest part was making sure the yarn didn’t get toooo tangled haha. I used cotton yarn 3mm hook and ended up having to make a couple more rows cause it was so small so it took a bit longer (I thought 15dc in between was a nice size). Because of that mine has smaller spirals but it works just the same and looks fun. Thanks!
Your teaching style is lovely. Happy accident finding your channel ! I have been knitting and crocheting for 40 + years and while l do have my favorite stitches/ projects, my "go to" collection has gotten rather stagnant lol I must say that l do appreciate that you go slowly enough for one whos never done this particular spiral project to follow along & keep up but not so slow as to frustrate lol. Ive subscribed and am looking forward to a good cup of tea and more creative ideas from you ! Thank you so much for sharing 🌹
Thank you for the tutorial. The spiral pattern seemed difficult, but you made it easy to understand and accomplish. This will be a beautiful and meaningful pattern block for my Afghan.
I needed another round to make square the right size. I love how you swapped the colors in your squares. It makes them very distinct. I'm going to try that too. Thank you for getting me started on a really good project.
This tutorial is so well made, I made one in an hour bcs i am a begginer but it was so fun to see the swirt come together! I made one with yellow, two different shades of blue and a turquoise, Looks stunning and i will deffinetely make abag out of them
this was such a good tutorial !!! the explanation and detail was super simple and easy to follow. i thought this was going to be hard but i finished this in under 20 mins :)))
Just a tip woth keeping track of the loops you can put stitch markers in them to make sure they won't be undone. This was an amazing tutorial and really easy to follow
I love this so much. I've made it. Your tutorial is great. I had only two colors of yarn, white and mixed color. So I use the colored yarn for the first yarn. The rest I did in white. I was also very nice as well. Thank you very much.
I've just finished my first square and I'm so pleased with it, came out way better than i imagined. I'm not the most advanced crochet-er but your instructions were so easy to follow, I would say even someone with only a few projects under their belt could achieve this. Thank you for sharing your skills!
I loved this! I recently started doing crochet and I understood everything, plus the finish result looks just like yours 🥳 I’m thinking about doing a blanket with this pattern because it’s just so beautiful 😍
@@gracetang773 I saw her mention in another comment that this happens with this design. She also has a two color one or the secret yarnery has one that’s the same too. She also mentioned she had some puff stitch tutorial too for a blankrt
what a great tutorial. i followed along and made it in the 36 minutes just like you. you not skipping ahead made it really easy to concentrate. you've just gained a new subbie!
I'm just now seeing this & all I can say is WOW! I always wondered how it was done & couldn't find clear instructions, but you not only made it clear you showed how easy it really is. Thank you 😊
I loved this tutorial and just crocheted a square right along with the video. This is fantastic!!! I am not sure why anyone would "thumb down" this video. Why??? This is so much fun!!!! I can't wait to make something with these squares! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
So pretty and what a great job you do with tutorials! I love your calming voice, the speed with which you work, how clear your directions are, and a fab job zooming in so we can see! Kudos!
Thankyou SO much for this tutorial! I always put off learning how to spiral crochet as it looks so fiddly and daunting but I made it first time while following this video! ❤
Thank you so much for that tutorial. I've just made my first spiral square. I did get lost at the beginning and had to pull it out and start again .. but second time lucky!!
Thx for sharing this tutorial! You're the perfect teacher, I like the way you talk in such a soothing ang calm voice 🥰 so easy to understand even for a non English mother language person like me😊
I know it sounds very drab, but I would love to do a bunch of these in black and white then join together with the spirals spinning different directions. This just looks so cool!!
I'm actually making this, but a friend of mine gave me some very interesting multicolor yarn. I used it with black yarn to make it look like a an aura migraine- something I suffer with. It's my Facebook profile pic, if anyone wants to look it up
This was so fun to make, thank you for the great explanations! I was worried I wouldn't be able to do such an intricate pattern, but you made it so fun and easy!
I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial. You explain the process well and take us all the way to the end project. I appreciated that you weren’t so FAST. 😬😆 Thank you for sharing your talent 💜❤️🌸
Beautiful and easy tutorial for a hard looking piece. I love it. Very chill and great explanation/instructions. Thank you so much for makng and sharing this with us! Have a great day
Great tip: We always start with 2DC in 1st stitch, and always end with 2DC in second to last stitch....Meanwhile, how do we keep our 4 ball colors tidy and not tangled?!
Been meaning to make thia square for ever! Making my wife an 'ugly sweater' and this will be a couple of the sqaures. Shes very excited 😁 So far i have about 8 different patterns
I really liked your pattern and made dishcloths from it. Then a blanket idea came into my head for a sampler of squares. So I have made 2 spirals, 12 inches across (30.5 cm). Thanks for sharing a great idea! It is a fun, interesting pattern and looks very impressive as a blanket square.
Oh! So pretty! I love fiddly bits like that because it’s so fun when it turns into something at the end! I’m definitely going to make these! Great tutorial, up close, clear video to follow along! Thank you.
Thank you for the following: 1) you didn’t speed it up and you did the crochet slowly the entire time. 2) bright light 3) great angle of your camera 4) you were very clear in your instructions without adding chatter. Thank you!

I agree. I Watch some and get lost then I do my own thing when I know the stitch 😅
I ❤ this. Thank you
Thankyou is very good and nice of you
Very clever of you thanks
This pattern is so cool, I love how it doesn't have you cutting and tying back on the colors, just continuing in that color's section. Sounds nice.
i made a few coasters for one of my teachers! makes a great gift

I thought this swirl square would be very difficult and take forever to crochet. This tutorial is amazing! 10/10. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I totally agree ❤

I want to see it when you're done, OK?

I’ve never worked with 4 yarn colors at once before! This was so fun and easy to follow. Thanks so much! Watching it come together is the best part

I'm just listening to your voice, so soothing for my cats.
I make 14" square mats for cats in shelters. I'm always looking for new techniques. I look forward to trying this. I have lots of scrap yarn.

Thanks to you, I not only have a new crochet skill/granny square; I also have a new vocabulary word, "fiddlely"! Thanks for both! Blessings.
I absolutely love this pattern, thank you for sharing. I have decided to make a blanket with this pattern, the only thing I did differently was I started with a magic circle so that I would be able to close the center tighter.

I would also love to know how to join them and what boarder is used. I'm planning to use this in a Christmas gift 😍

Genius design. Iris colors. Perfect background. Instruction clear and complete. Best video I have seen on YT, no lie.
I love patterns like this, that look super intricate but are actually easy to do (once you get a hang of it, that is). Thank you for a great tutorial!!

Fantastic pattern and explanation. Making for national granny square day. Thank you 🙏
I really enjoyed this tutorial. I was a bit intimidated at first, but you made it easy to follow and understand. Thanks a lot!
I know you made this video 6 years ago but I just found it and I want to thank you I love the squares and your instructions made it easy. 😍
thank you for this tutorial. I made them. couldn't do a proper joining for a bag coz of the rounded corners so I added an edging of one row of sc with 5sc in each corner
Love this tutorial!
What was easier for me was starting with a magic ring and making sure my first single crochets when casting on were all loose!

I loved this! I recently started doing crochet and I understood everything, plus the finish result looks just like yours 🥳 I’m thinking about doing a blanket with this pattern because it’s just so beautiful 😍

I had done this pattern before, but I couldn't remember it, so that you for letting me watch how to do it. I found it very useful.
I know it sounds very drab, but I would love to do a bunch of these in black and white then join together with the spirals spinning different directions. This just looks so cool!!
Joleen Phillips that sounds epic
I'm actually making this, but a friend of mine gave me some very interesting multicolor yarn. I used it with black yarn to make it look like a an aura migraine- something I suffer with. It's my Facebook profile pic, if anyone wants to look it up
nice idea
Hey all. Finished the blanket my mom calls my "spastic blanket". It's my profile picture now.

Great tip: We always start with 2DC in 1st stitch, and always end with 2DC in second to last stitch....Meanwhile, how do we keep our 4 ball colors tidy and not tangled?!

Thank you.
I love all your beautiful colours but the brighter ones make me the happiest.
