    If the dishwasher is leaking at the base causing a flood error, it may be due to the airbreak o-ring seals being damaged or worn, and they would need to be replaced.
    Here Mat takes you through the process step by step. See what you need to do to repair your appliance as well as the tools you need and get your dishwasher working again.

    Yeah great! Followed this. Ordered o rings from espares via THEIR website. What turned up was as far from correct as it could be.
    Completely different size, thickness etc.
    They apologised and refunded the money , but I still have a leaky dishwasher!

    Hi, great video. This is exactly the same model as mine. Do you know the size of the o-rings, as I am in Australia, I will be able to source them if you have the size handy, thanks.

    Hi I found this very helpful, but as yet I haven't identified the source of the small leak. Still looking and hopeful of tracking it down. My machine is the DFD6132X-2 and the front kick panel is different. You have to tip the machine onto its back or side and remove the panel by releasing the plastic spring clips at each end and one in the middle from inside. NB! do this before removing the top and side panel rear screws as the large flat counter weight at the back will only then be held by its top hooks and one screw. If this weight shifts it could cause damage or personal injury.

    Hi I have the same machine and your video helped me locate the leak. Unfortunately in my case the water is literally gushing out of the top part of the chamber where there's a hole. I'm wondering if the hole should be there or not. Can you help in identifying what else could be wrong?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  5 років тому +1

      Hi Farrukh Ahmed, you need to make sure the O ring seal is in place in the chamber or it will leak and if it's damaged it will need to be replaced.

      @@eSparesHi. Thanks for the response. I figured it out eventually after paying 30 dollars to a technician who said the chamber is broken.
      It was a simple case of too high inlet pressure. Turned down the inlet tap and it's working perfectly now.
      Somehow the manuals also don't mention to check for inlet pressure and it slipped my mind completely, resulting in pulling the whole thing apart and risking to damage some part.

      Hi Farrukh Ahmed, thanks for letting us know and we are glad you have sorted it but it's a good lesson for everyone to check their pressure.

    Hi there. I have fully integrated SMEG dishwasher STL7235L but can't find any manual on how to adjust legs of this dishwasher. Do you have any idea how it could be done?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  4 роки тому

      Hi Oleg, you need to turn the legs anti-clockwise to raise the dishwasher and clockwise to lower it.

    How do you get the plinth to ‘pop off’ so easy? Seems like I’m going to break the clips when I try it.

      @eSpares  5 років тому

      Hi Dean Hendrie, sometimes you may need to apply a reasonable amount of force and the plinth should pop off without any damage.

    Hello! I have a Retro style SMEG dishwasher (the one of fun colors and rounded exterior) that we brought sometime 7-8-9 years ago and it is leaking a lot from the underside. (not from the pipes or such, but from actual underside) About 1-2 liters a session.
    Do you think it could be this same problem? Or is it too much quantity for this?
    Also, sadly the leak didn't trigger any alert on panel.

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  4 роки тому

      Hi Helena, you will need to take the side panels off and find where the leak is coming from, start to fill the dishwasher and then unplug it and with the panels off try to find where it is leaking.

    I have a SMEG PL622X dishwasher. I need to replace the inlet valve. Can you tell me where it is located. Your help would be appreciated.

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  4 роки тому

      Hi Norman, it is on the back of the machine, the inlet hose connects to the valve so just follow the hose.

    Hi eSpares - When I first saw the link to this video I thought I'd finally found the solution to my Smeg dishwasher leak. Unfortunately, not quite ... Presumably, the leak you are fixing here cures the problem of water leaking from the o-rings into the bottom tray and tripping the error? However, with my leak, the water is dribbling out inside the tub, from the large plastic nut thing that you take off from the inside the machine (this is between cycles, when the machine is not working). Eventually, the water inside the machine gets to such a level that it then spills out into the bottom tray and then trips the error when I next come to use it. Presumably, that large nut is where inlet water is supposed to enter the machine normally, after it's been through the softener? But between cycles that flow should be completely off? I am presuming now that my inlet solenoid valve isn't properly sealing in the off position, allowing a constant dribble of water to get through - does that sound likely? If this is the most likely cause then I'm also finding it impossible to locate an original solenoid valve for my Smeg DI6014 dishwasher - are there any alternatives that you are aware of? In the meantime I am either initiating a cycle to get the machine to empty about 2-3 times a day, and then cancelling the cycle, or I'm turning the water on and off between cycles to stop the flow ... not exactly ideal. Thanks in advance.

      Hi Mark, it is more likely that a seal is leaking allowing the water to drip through to the base causing the dishwasher to trip, look for a water trail to find the seal that's gone and look on our website for parts www.espares.co.uk/browse/at1083ma1213/dishwashers/smeg

      @@eSpares Hi eSpares. Thanks for getting back to me. I understand what you're saying is more likely but I did look very closely and the water is definitely dribbling out of that large port on the left hand side of the inside of the dishwasher. I can watch it dribble down the inside wall and collect in the bottom where the filter mesh is. It's fresh water, not flowback from the outlet. After a cycle the dishwasher is empty of water. If I look again after 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours etc - the water slowly builds up in the bottom and it keeps going slowly like that until it spills over the front lip and enters the tray on the underside of the machine, tripping the float. For arguments sake, if the inlet valve was not sealing properly and allowing a dribble of water through, and if no other seals were faulty, where would that dribble of water eventually come out? ... Would it be through that large port on the left hand side and into the main tub of the inside of the dishwasher?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  5 років тому

      Hi Mark, if the valve is allowing water to come through even when it is off it could come through to the tub and is most likely to be the valve.

      @@eSpares Hi eSpares. I have the same issue as described by Mark. I have removed the side cover & can see a very small flow of water from near the top of the "cane handle" section of the air break. This small flow eventually builds up & enters back into the washer via the large plastic nut. As described by Mark, eventually it fills up the bottom & leaks out. Thanks
