Armless Orangutan 'Graduates' From Forest School

An orangutan who lost both his arms trying to escape captors has finally 'graduated' from 'Forest School' after learning the skills he needs to survive.
Kopral was electrocuted when he climbed an electricity pylon in a bid to escape captors who had been keeping him in a cage as a pet since he was a baby.
The youngster was brought to the East Kalimantan Orangutan Reintroduction Program in Indonesia by taxi, but sadly his arms were severely burnt and rotting and nothing could be done to save them.
Despite his horrific start in life, under the care of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, Kopral excelled in 'Forest School' - a rehabilitation programme designed to teach orangutans how to build nests, climb trees, select appropriate natural foods and recognise natural predators.

Dam just shows you how cruel some humans are.. shouldn't have been kept like that from the start.it truly makes me sad that I'm a human being and human beings do shit like that for what reason..
NOt all people are bad, though. and that is why Kopral was rescued by those good humans.
If you watch another video about him, the story goes: after being electrocuted, his captor though he was dead so he left Kopral there for few days, when they return they realized that he's still alive and call the forest police to rescued him. But at that point his arms was impossible to cure. So they amputated them

So absolutely amazing and handsome! I’ve been following Kopral long before he had cheek pads. His tenacity and will has always captivated me. He’s so calm too, if his disability frustrates him I would never know. He gets on with life so well. So grateful for everyone that supported him. It’s so beautiful to see him have the freedom and life that he deserves!❤️🦧❤️

NOW that is called fortitude!! Bless his heart! I was wondering how he is able to eat and then I saw him sitting there in the tree and he moved his feet towards his mouth and realized his feet can act like his hands,..amazing. Animals do not feel sorry for themselves,.they just work and work till they make it happen,..wonderful

Wow, just saw a video from 9 years ago with his arms missing already at such a young age. I guess it's a blessing for him that he's a great ape with prehensile feet that can act as a second pair of hands . God bless him!

I think orangutans should have human rights
The word Orangutan means Man of the Forest..
I think every beings have a right to be, that comes automatically with their existence. If they go to a plantation and eat the crops that human cultivate, most likely it’s because their original habitat has been crowded or grabbed by human.

Consider this please.....how do we achieve it when we have real "human" babies being snatched from the arms of their parents in the USA , just to send a message. Yes, there’s an orangutan at the Great Ape Center with a few videos up on YT asp missing her arms, where she’s doing enrichment exercises with her toys. The angle the video is shot at, and the way she’s sitting, you’d actually think she was using her arms and hands to play, and not her legs and feet.

If you meant Cinta from Orangutan Jungle School, who loves to throw sticks at others, then it's not her. Cinta is at Nyaru Menteng in Central Kalimantan. Kopral is at Samboja Lestari in East Kalimantan. Both centres were under BOS Foundation.

Notice how he walks upright because his arms are missing? Maybe that's why we're bipedal, we came from a line of armless freaks who all lost their arms to cheetahs.
Can he be fitted for special arms and hands from a place that fits humans with them. It would be great to see him able to swing from a tree and eat with them. Go fund me would get enough money to pay for them.

He will not be released. He will spend his life on a pre-release island, where he is safe and free, but can still get some help if needed.
