I love Scar, but in this video he had the attention span of a toddler with ADHD.
It's not a case of you "not being a builder" but rather that you are a new builder. Improvement is an iterative process that involves multiple attempts, learning from mistakes, and making adjustments along the way, and you have already made vast improvements since joining Hermitcraft.
It's not about making something to the same level as the builders with years of experience; it's about creating something that represents the next step up from your current ability, and that's visibly happening from the audience's perspective.
At the end of season six, Grian polled the fans about what they'd like to see more of in Hermitcraft. There was an option for "more collaboration". I've never hit a poll button so fast.
Seven and eight had far too little for my interest. Nine was starting to get there. Ten has got it pretty much perfect. Not only are the collaborations entertaining, they provide a great opportunity for the fans to get a feel for Hermits they don't watch, getting new views and more subscriptions for every Hermit.
Collaboration is terrific for the server AND fans

Skizz luring Scar out with Star Wars blows all the other "Top 100 IQ plays" that clips channels constantly used to post out of the water.
Do the traffic lights for violation, but just use wool. Red on top, green on bottom, yellow middle. Just replace the block in a 3 block stack of grey wool.

@LemoningLily permits seem to only pertain to vanilla minecraft items. Services and custom items like cleos tea cups are exempt from permit office regulation and poe poe enforcement.

Skizz is meant for this, the timings and editing is so good. When he’s doing his monologue about getting feedback and then turns around and all the guys are there, you just have to appreciate the artistry.

Skizz was made for content creation. What a unique and lovable personality. It hurts my heart every time you hear the tone of his voice drop when he mentions he has responsibilities taking him away.
This time it sounds like it's for his daughter's injury, so yeah, not an enjoyable subject for him, but he's such a great dad, flying cross country to be there for her.
There's only one solution. Get this man to 1M subs!

"Next season of Hermitcraft... if I'm invited back" I'm not gonna lie at this point if they didn't invite you back it wouldn't feel like Hermitcraft to me. Your wisdom, your wits, and most importantly your whimsy would be lacking on the smp if for some reason you did not return
My one feedback for Skizz's shop is that you don't need that much counterspace, and you don't need that much space behind the counter. It makes the shop feel small/crowded. I would suggest moving the counter one block back and adding another opening to the back of the counter on the right side of the shop. But that's just a small suggestion, the shop looks good either way.
I agree. I think the room design is beautiful but the counter kinda distracts from it.
He doesn't need *any* counter space. What is the counter suppose to be doing other than clicking and messing up the trap doors? It isn't functional beyond that, and it is visually just distracting. Is it just to distract from the fact that he has almost no stock in the shop? "Well, I really only needed two single chests to hold this, what do I do to hide the fact that this shop is huge? I could have just put this in the doorway!"

@@CorwinAlexander And he built a shop with a large, loud *thing* running through the middle of a gorgeous room. If he instead opened it up more and added a bit more shop to his shop, it would look great. The counter doesn't really add to the look like it does in some shops. There's no shopkeeper behind it, which would actually add a lot and explain needing to block off the back half of the shop. Currently, it's just kind of awkward.
I think what would make the counter better would be to have it run out of both walls and have a 3 block gap in the middle

The Poe Poe HQ should be called the Poe-nopticon, a pun on Panopticon, which was an old fashioned style of jail based on having a central watchtower surrounded by the cells, I feel like it would be a funny pun and also a fun reference to the fact the Poe Poe is keeping an eye on the shopping district

Here's a suggestion for the store: put water source blocks above the mangrove side. It will be symmetrical with the cherry flower particles.

You can eat honey bottles though. And it restores saturation, so IMO that counts as a food.

You should really turn the igloo snow shop into a dropped ice-cream cone/snowcone. Will look a lot better and not be seen as a popup shop.

Absolutely love the texturing on the cherry/mangrove shop! It's very interesting without being super noisy, and it looked great to use lighting that fit the theme of each side to make it more subtle but still have those pops of color. You won't be able to say you're not a builder for much longer at this rate!
Cleo is amazing. With what she's done in this season (little mention last season too), she has proven herself the armor stand champ. Even with Imp and Joel coming up on skill she still holds the belt.

Also, it amazes me how much this Frogger build shines Etho’s building style - which I’ve always enjoyed. I don’t even know how to describe it, but it’s just so clearly him. I think the use of an old-school block like sandstone and the avoidance of the more modern style of making gradients with blocks is what makes this, which personally I’m not a huge fan of gradients unless it’s a really large scale build.
I also love the aesthetic of the shop! Putting everything under the floor is a good choice as I also find things like crafting tables/chests get in the way of the vibe I'm going for!

The HQ description of a tower with a spotlight to keep an eye on the shops sounds a lot like they are describing the eye of Sauron.
Skizz is becoming one of my favorites to watch! He's so genuine and kind hearted, and the silliness is perfectly off the charts 😊 you come to a skizz video to feel a little better about the world!

I love that Grian's instruction was "we need to crack down on 'pop-up shops,'" and you guys just sorta did whatever you wanted with your newfound power lol definitely fits perfectly with the whole vibe of the permit office
The POE POE is great to watch so far! Love seeing how much fun everyone is having, and it's good to know that at the end of the day, it's all in good fun, and you're all still friends!

The honey as food belongs to Keralis permit, and he's the one stocking up the honey at the food market. They are even connected underground. So it's not a violation :)
Honestly the biggest timesaver for Grian this season was not in delegating the responsibilities of the Permit Office to the POE POE, but in assigning Skizz to Scar-wrangling duty. Great episode, I laughed so much!
I LOVE the energy and interactions and just the whole Skizz package that Skizzleman brings to Hermitcraft! Throughout the whole episode I was laughing or smiling. Great episode!
The shop looks really good! You are becoming a builder. And what can be said about Cleo's tribute to Glue stick and Drum Stick. It is amazing. They do such incredible work.
I looked you up a couple years back when i was watching a bit of your's and impy's sky island series, and your builds were... lack luster... So naturally although i knew socially you would be a great addition to HC because you are hilarious, and i knew your building would get better as the series goes on, but honestly the amount of effort you have put into making things look good caught me by surprise. I was expecting simple builds, little to no detailing/ texturing, but its not what happened at all, and the fact as small as this shop build was that your no longer thinking in single block depth but even thinking about using roots/leaves and what should be behind them, and using as much depth and texture as you are is awesome. I look forward to seeing how much more you will grow throughout your HC journey! Keep up the amazing work skizz!

If you’re going to do the traffic lights, maybe make them in the HQ so you’re not disrupting the flow of the builds the hermits worked on. You could have a section for each permit and since you want a tall tower it would be easier to make room for them all
Skizzle mah boi, we don’t say you are not a builder. You’re a fletchling builder- we all go through that. And that shop is a clear testament to you growing into a professional builder!
I love the poe poe accent so dang much! But more importantly, you citing your own snow shop somehow reminded me of writing lines on a chalkboard in school. Maybe the Hermits will someday have to write their own citations? 😂

I love that the area outside Skizz's starter base/crack is slowly becoming a sculpture garden with things built by the other hermits, first "Etho's" skizz statue and now Cleo's horse memorial
Skizz, that meeting BigWood had without you was HILARIOUS. Doc’s “so we replaced Skizz with Cub” line was so perfect and natural it had the 0.1 millisecond of “for real?” xD
