Great video!!! Most underrated audio card on the web! Optical input is useful to connect 2 macbook directly with toslink cable. A lot of audio cards with optical input accept ONLY ADAT (not spidif over optical). This card has only 1 CONS: direct monitoring of 1&2 inputs are in mono (they are "fused together" in L+R).

Very nice video, I'm thinking about replacing my Behringer U-phoria UMC 202 HD because it has issues with direct monitoring. How good is the direct monitoring in this card? Is it loud enough? Also does it has good latency? Thank you.
Hi, U44 has very good headphones amplification, could go very loud, direct monitoring works well too, no complains. Also, i’ve never had any issues with latency, everything works just great! Thanks!

Hi! Yes indeed, there is not so much. If i can get a sample for review i would make video on it, for sure. U24 is not so much different from U44, 2 ins 4 outs, same driver, same sound quality. Thanks!
I’m having trouble getting the S/PDIF out out of the U44 to be recognized or heard by my iPad Pro. Is there a way to redirect the usb output so it is sending the S/PDIF output instead?
Hi, S/PDIF is mapped as channel 3 and 4 (Stereo) iPad will recognize U44 as plug and play stereo therefore by default only channel 1 and 2 (Stereo) could be used but some 3d party DAW could make use of all connected channels, I believe if you use Cubasis you can make recording from channel 3 and 4 as well as channels 1 and 2. Hello, thanks for this video. I have a question about the OPERATION MODE selection. I will supply phantom power to my dpa mics and want to use toslink optical out to my PCM D50 sony recorder. Which OPERATION MODE position should I select in STAND ALONE. Thank you.

Can you record all 4 channels simultaneously ( on 4 separate tracks) on iPad using U44?
Hi! Yes, you can record 4 channels simultaneously, you have to choose inputs 1, 2, 3, 4, in the DAW you using. U44 has 2 mic / analogue ins and 2 digital ( optical ) ins, in case if you want to record 4 analogue inputs you have to use mic capsules or XLR extension capsule ( you can buy it separately ) Thanks!
