Greta video gents, took me down memory lane. My dad ran a canoe touring company in the 70’s and 80’s on the Tumut (and ‘bidgee), and my brother and I learnt to fish from some of the guests who would come waving these strange long rods over the water where we were floating live grasshoppers we’d caught down a likely looking seam. We grasped early that pulling a hopper from a fly box was a lot less hassle than chasing them down and pinning them to a hook! 40 years later the river looks in fine shape (probably good they got rid of most of the willows). I’m based in Calgary Alberta now, and the fishing’s pretty good, but it’s always good to get back to your roots, even if it’s only digitally. I’ll look you up next time I’m back in Aust., and do a float I it you - looks like you guys have it all figured out.
Glad you enjoyed! Fly patterns have certainly made leaps and bounds in creating realistic-looking flies Haha! The Tumut is indeed looking fantastic, and our guides have nailed it down to a fine art. Keen for a chat or a drift next time you're in Aus!
Hey I was at Jones bridge last weekend and seen you guys put the boat in there. And now this video pops up on my UA-cam feed 😂. Hope you had some success last weekend
Fantastic! Magnificent fish Pat. Love it.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Your fun and happiness levels…through the roof!
Thanks! We're pretty happy doing what we do!

Great fishing! How long does it take to get from Tumut down to Nimbo Fork?
It depends on flow but our usual guided days run around 8 hours 👍
