Which isn't all that unprecedented, for hominids atleast there was several species of this lineage including us modern humans that were all sentient (again including us..) but with varying adaptations, proportions, and brains. (meaning the last common ancestor/ancestors of them all could be so far back to the point of not being a consider a factor) Though that partly why their world and their history is so fascinating in the lore of Star Wars!
Kuad drive yards was far more productive though. After all the number of Mon Cala ships numbered in the dozens while there were thousands of Star Destroyers out there.

The frogs remind me of the Venusian V-frogs in Isaac Asimov's novel "Lucky Starr and Venus' Oceans". They too have telepathic powers and can control humans
The destruction of Dac has to be one of the worst disasters in Star Wars history. Not just because of the mass death, but the loss of rich cultures, ecologies, and knowledge. Or at least on the higher order of genocide. Great video. Maybe you can make one on the galaxies deepest tragedies.
Hey so there aren’t a lot of this individual planet videos on Star Wars planets and I can understand because a lot of planets don’t have more than a couple paragraphs of lore so if u continue to do videos like this on planets I would love it😀
Fantastic channel! I love your presentation style. It's academic. As a historian/rabbi once said of the kabbalah. It may be nonsense, but the study of the history of nonsense, that's scholarship.
In the original script for Rise of Skywalker, they were going to blow up the shipyards above Mon Cal because the First Order was using them to refuel and repair their Start Destroyers, but Rey and her team fail and end up Hijacking a star destroyer. Would have been awesome.
Endor wasn’t really well documented so the empire probably had little information compared to what info they could’ve gotten from Mon Calamari about of these darkside frogs.
I imagine the ampi- hydrus kind control only works on non sapient species, considering they only seemed to try with beasts such as the rancor rather than directly messing with the cities
the fight between Dac and the first order probably ends in the rise of Skywalker (but off camera) because they suddenly get a fleet with most of them being Dac flag ships.
Cool stuff, cheers! When you say sapient, do you mean sentient? As for the droid 'starfish' couldn't they be aquatic probe droids for the Separatists? I don't know their place in the time line though.
Hello love the channel! I have to ask, where did you get your stock footage from timestamp 1:55 to 1:58? Of 17:52. I’ve seen this footage in a completely different video pertaining to Antarctica. it appears to have evidence of a vast geometric excavation from a possible mining system carved onto the surface. I’m just curious I mean I’ve noticed this structure twice now it seems, if you can thank you!
Last time I was on that planet, I was destroyed TWICE by the Mon-Calamari Royal Guard. It was _not_ ideal...

Marrqi7 wini you make a valid point...
Fun fact: Dac has at least 5 sentient species, only two of which (the Mon Cala and Quarren) fit a humanoid body plan.
Crazy
Having watched a good amount of STARWARS I can only name 3 species: Quarren, Mon Calamari and whaladon
Josh Chen there was an ancient species that lived on dac, but is extinct
@@elliottowens8913 yup. Mon Cala, Quarren, Whalodon, Memory Bank, Moappa, and Amphi-Hydrus

The Mon Calamari are one of my absolute favourite species of all sci fi one of the things I love most about them is their ships
Kuat Driveyards: *We have the biggest ship yard out there*
Mon Cala many decades later: *Hold our cruisers*
Yeah, if there’s one thing the rebellion’s victory sucked for, it was Kuat.
The NR started using Bothan ships as well as Mon Cala ships in like 25 aby
The biggest Mon Calamari ship was 17km long. The Executor was 19km. So there's a difference there by quite a bit.
Kuad drive yards was far more productive though. After all the number of Mon Cala ships numbered in the dozens while there were thousands of Star Destroyers out there.
