- Day 2 of this trip to the farm sees some good sales on Marketplace as we get more stuff packed up. Also, I spend some time rummaging through some old cupboards!

It is great that she is in a sorting mood. Usually it is very hard to let go of things becaue there is always the fear of feeling stupid if we throw something that is needed after all. After seeing documentaries about firms that come to empty a house it is clear there is a disconnect between what people think is valuable and what is thrown out when they are gone. It is great that she has you to guide her and point out what might be a good idea to keep and what needs to go. Great series!

Yes - not really selling much from the display though as the only people who see it are ones picking stuff up! Later on I may advertise it as a garage sale and have a sign out on the road!

Those Moccona jars, if the lids are okay, you should put in your dollar box. People who don't drink coffee themselves like them for kitchen storange and craft things. It will be nice for your Mum to have a bit of time at the new house, slowly get used to it.

I’d love to see a tip truck take all the steel and iron equipment off the farm but it would have to work out money wise to be worth it or just sell it all at a clearing sale st the farm. All the best Chris 👍👍👍
Thanks Faye. There's not enough value for a clearing sale. The property was sold privately a couple of years ago and no auction company would take on a sale with lots of low value stuff and nothing good! All the old machinery down the lane will go to a scrappy who has an excavator and large truck. That will happen right at the end of the process. Thanks for following the journey 😊👍

I’ve still got a double airpot kicking around somewhere Chris. They were great for a day out the river. Love the old food thermos. It’s funny how your memories, and the sheds memories jolt so many of ours. Thankyou mate.

Yes Dee, that was an unexpected surprise! I had cleaned out some cupboards a couple of years ago and they mysteriously re-filled! 🙄🤣

We call them eskies here because the first major brand was called Esky. In the UK they call vacuums, hoovers. A couple years ago in one of hospital I was working. One of the cleaners came up to me asking if I knew where the Hoover was. With her thick accent I didn't know what she's talking about and after, I though how would I know.
