Well done with the chair. The recordings of the farm will be great for the family.
Yep, let's just hope that UA-cam lasts forever! Thanks Katrina 👍😊
Thanks Chris, that's a lovely sight the Sunset and highly appropriate - as you said the end of an era and nice to have a record of it ! You are a determined and resourceful fellow, that was a great technique for controlling the ascent of the Chair into the van - a good scout knows that a stout piece of rope can get him out of all sorts of trouble !
I never actually made it to scouts, but was a cub for a short time! Just lost interest I think with too much to do on the farm. Dad was always very resourceful, so I guess that's where it came from - plus I'm rather stubborn! Thanks Andy 😊😊
Where there is a will, there is a way! well done.
Thanks Faye! Yep, there's always a way! 😊👍
I like the 'can do' attitude. Well done!
Thanks Dee! Some call it stubbornness! 🙄🤣
Great job on moving the recliner. They are nice and comfy but oh boy are they heavy.
Thanks Anita! Yes, I'm glad I don't have to move them very often!
My wife's and my recliners have always been "dead mans shoes" and have always had to be removed from houses or flats and my son in law and I quickly learned that the first things we needed to remove them was a board with four casters fitted, some rope, a sack barrow and a long extension lead because none of them would pass normally through a standard door as a chair. The old horse and carts used to have blocks of wood tied to the cart and hanging close to the wheels dragging on the ground so that if the horse stopped on a slope and the cart ran backwards the wheels would be chocked, I've tried it on a sack barrow and it works.
Yes, an interesting and ingenious way to automatically chock something rolling backwards! I may have to try that! Thanks mate 👍😊
Couldn't believe you got that chair up there. I was worried for your shoulder.
My shoulder is good these days Cynthia! I am careful though - I don't want to go through that long recovery time again!
That rope setup should have a 2:1 mechanical advantage so definitely it was working for you! Also congrats on looking after the shoulder moving so many heavy things!
Thanks Nas! Yep, the shoulder feels pretty good, but I am careful! The left one is a little dodgy as well! 😲🙄
Well done 👍, Nice sunset 🌤
Thanks Alex. We do get some nice sunsets there! 👍😊
Good job with the chair , those things weigh a ton 😳 nice sunset too 👍
Thanks BB! Yeah super heavy! I'm glad I didn't have to lift it onto a truck! 😲
How funny, that is the same way I got our recliner through the door
It's probably a manufacturer's recommended method Gaile! 😉😊
The outside is looking pretty neat 👍🙂
It is Dave - it looks very sparse compared to even just six months ago!
Take it slow and use an advantage well done
Exactly Rob! Thanks mate 😊
You had me on the edge of my seat with that pully job. Not bad work for a moments notice. Might be a good idea to put a permanent pully hookup in the center roof of the van. Maybe keep a hand crank hoist in the van for tricky situations? Or keep doing it the same, it's very entertaining on our end. 😁
Thanks mate! It's not a bad idea to have a solid hook point centrally in the van - and perhaps a small winch that can be stored away when not in use! 😊👍
Well done that was clever with the chair.
Thanks Eve! There's always a way to do things - you just have to find what works! 😊
Lucky had those chipmunks to help you lol 😂
Haha yep! 🤣
I thought for sure you'd have a pulley system in the back of the van somewhere, or applying some tech an electric winch to pull heavy loads up the ramp! 🙂
There's been a couple of times I've used a rope similar to this - maybe it's time for a proper anchor point and a small removeable winch?! 👍😊

All coffees are hugely appreciated and keeping me well caffeinated is likely to bring you many more helpful videos! ☕☕😊😊
Please Chris, could you do a tutorial about how you managed to tie that setup where the rope can be pulled one way but not slip back out? Thats the first I've ever seen it and I think thats amazing!
It's a pretty standard truckie's knot. It allows you to put more tension on a rope, but it can slip back through. I was holding the trolley while repositioning my hand each time. I'll perhaps do a video on the common knots I use one day!
You sure know how to use a rope !
I've been tying loads on trailers for a long time Retif! I guess you learn a thing or two eventually! 🤣
You need to be a guy. I would have had no idea how to do it.
There's always a way Sarit, it just requires some thought and a healthy streak of stubbornness!
looking forward to see what goodies are in that cabinet of curiosity.
There are cabinets of curiosity everywhere Mario! 😂😂
