Hey, I was in this movie at the 6:12 min. mark! I was a reporter (which I was at that time) along with Guy Barnes of the Morning News! I'm the tall reporter to the right of Levon Helm. Also, it looks like Mark Remes with a mic to Levon's left and that Channel 5 guy who name I can't remember.
This movie is a rare find. Since it aired, I've wanted to locate a copy of the theme song from Vince Gill, Lowlands, but it was never released. It's a great version of that song. Thank you for sharing!
what a long time to be looking for a song! i know what that's like, so don't worry, i got you! it's right here (it plays over the end of the movie and i left a little dialogue at the beginning to avoid the track starting with the sound of a whimpering dog): drive.google.com/file/d/1EvHSTHQ7HcAQGNr7YlyfjiZklBXSGHft/view?usp=sharing Enjoy!
@@bigpinkerton I would love to hear this version of The Lowlands. I'm writing a piece on Gary Scruggs for the Nashville Musicians Association and want to confirm that this is the song he wrote back in the late '60s.
@@bigpinkerton Hi there, thanks for responding. I tried that first, and I see a screen that says access denied. I tried just now and got that again. I went ahead and clicked a button that says "requesting access." and I got a message on the screen that says the following: You'll get an email letting you know if the file is shared with you. ... So I guess we'll see if you get some notification.
By the way, I spoke to a very old friend of Gary's who told me he told her that he was 18 when he wrote "The Lowlands," and that it was the first song he ever wrote.
Levon's the dawgs bollocks ! I don't think Rick had ever used a spanner in his life? I must have missed Garth and Richard like I did in The Last Waltz. Who cares when you were one of the best Band's ever ! RIP Levon - Rick and Richard.
Rick Danko blowtorchin' some dude... movie or not, I've never seen the like.... Not sure I like mixing my knowledge of him w/ the dude in the movie. Mianly b/c he's one of those souls I cherish as I know them. But, I acted before, & I'm not like the evil character I played either. Just weird to see. But I also don't want anyone to be confined to being either musicion or an actor & not this or that. They can be both of those & anything else as well. I despise people who hate the music of actors, when they were musicians long & before they ever got a part. Stuff like that.
He was in the movie Carny, with Gary Busey and Jodie Foster, not a bad movie, especially if you are a Robbie fan, as I am. He never looked better than in that movie, which is saying something.@@thomascollins1739
I love RIck Danko, however as he got older and gaining weight he lost some of his good looks, he is still cute and his personality shines through, here he plays a mechanic or something like that, wearing overalls. I just watched Carny the 1980 movie with Robbie Robertson, Robbie like Rick were so good looking in the Last Waltz, however, he was even better looking in Carny couldn't take me eyes off him.
Levon was a great actor

i was just looking for clips of this movie with The Band last week and couldn't find any. So glad you posted all these! Thank you!
"Get Levons dogs, we're gonna' need 'em..."
Levon Helm

He played a fine bass guitar and he's the perfect small town boy from Turkey Point On.
Why can't I find this movie
WTF?! There's a random movie with the band in it.
Is the movie mostly with them in it? Or is it only parts?
every moment any of them are in the movie should be in the two clips. so their roles are pretty small
@@bigpinkerton I wish they were in the whole thing. But thank you for this. Wish Richard had been able to have a bigger role if he had lived
Oh dear!

Where was Robbie Robertson? LOL.
He still had a solo career.

He was somewhere down the Crazy River
Oh my god, that torture scene is hilariously bad! Levon's decent performance is out of place here in this horrible movie
