Amen to that comment on the neck Sarah. I have a Danelectro convertible which has the same neck, bridge and pickups. I'm not sure what it is but the neck just feels perfect under my fingers. It is my favorite feature of the instrument.

Bought a new replica Silvertone guitar very cheap off the bargain rack at a local music store. Really nice black sparkle finish, great neck and very nice intonation. Only down side was the low output of the lipstick pickups. Very playable; used it at a gig a few days later to good comments on the tone.

Silvertones were made for and sold at Sears. At one time, Sears and Montgomery Wards (Airline brand) had huge music depts with guitars, drum sets, amplifiers and organs. These were affordable to Jr High and High School kids so Silvertone and Airline were quite common.
