In theory society has made talking about finances taboo. If you want to discuss finances among people you trust like her friends you should, but I believe the social setting Jay and Kristin surround themselves with is just not necessarily healthy, although this is reality tv show, so it might be for ratings but from what I observe and basing off just that in this little cutscene, there seems to turmoil that its boiling privately and they did not have a constructive discussion about money after his retirement. Which leads me to believe that Kristin does not want to be the leader in the relationship and she knows equality sucks and she thinks Jay is entitled and not working portraying him being lazy and not a man. Just a theoretical statement, dont be too harsh on me UA-cam.

The chances of somebody becoming a professional athlete in this country is 3-6%. Some athletes dream they have the type of money jay has after retirement. This career path is a life long commitment, so this is just a guess, Jay has worked from the age of 6 to 32 years old. Making it a 26 year commitment to one sport. So when your significant other resents that your not working anymore? Anyone with a brain cell would get upset at the fact somebody would call you lazy when you train, keep out of legal and public trouble, saving, year after year. To only find out your partner thinks your a bum

On her show, she keeps pointing out that he’s retired and that she’s waiting for him to “figure things out”. He did. He played football, made a crapload of money, and he retired. He banged up his body- those body slams didn’t tickle- and if he wants to chill, let him chill. Kristin acts like she’s the only one who has money. And he does do the most of taking care of the kids while she’s off doing her jewelry business. They both have done their share of shaming the other, to be fair. Marriage is hard work. I seriously think they should have aired out their differences with a marriage counselor though.

Actually love this. Not that I’d want any couple to have arguments, but there’s something so soothing about knowing that we’re not the only ones that have relationship issues and that it’s not always a honey moon phase.

I think I may have missed something and I’m hoping someone can explain it but why are they in their old house during this scene? Unless it’s a flashback from Season 1...
It was a “farewell to the old house” combined with her wanting to entertain this group & new house doesn’t have this large a dining room, IIRC.
