I was super confused at what was happening during the Direct but now that I'm observing and having an explanation, I can now understand what's happening. Seems pretty fun in a different way from games like Puyo Puyo.
I was so put-off when this game was announced, but I'm going to have to check it out now. With this and all the other positive reviews I'm hearing, it sounds like it'll be worth the time and money...
I love Treasure Shove and am really looking forward to Shovel Knight Dig! I was a little skeptical about this game, but after watching this review, I might get it!
I enjoyed Pannel De Pon the orginal game in that series before it was released as Tetris Attack and Puzzle League. It's a very high recommendation to play online with a friend. You know ... if you don't whoop their butt before they learn how to play and enjoy it.
It's a clearly very well designed video game with quality art and music as well as lots of content. €18 is less than 1/3 of standard game pricing so I don't think it's steep at all
This kinda reminds me of Grindstone (which I loved) with the added charm of Shovel Knight. It's on sale for $10 atm so I came here for a review. Thanks as always!
Took me a bit to get the hang of it, but im really enjoying it. Big fan of Scrap Knight. Being able to move enemies and items around in the bag is really nice for setting up combos
I was very confused this game wasn't on phones. I heard it was out and went straight to the app store. Why call it "pocket" if it's for home consoles (ya ya switch can fit in cargo pants technically but still)
Does this come with a tutorial? I feel defeated without having played this game. I'm interested but can see myself raging multiple times. A chill puzzle game it is not. 😆 Perhaps I can find a gameplay video then decide.
"Accessibility" for disabled persons and easiness for conventionally-abled people (I hesitate to call anyone, especially gamers, "normal" in this day and age) should not be discussed with the same term. The former is arguably a necessary (or at least something to expect), the latter is a choice. It's a necessary distinction.
@@MEDUSAvsSHOE That's a shame as I don't love that you kill cute creatures and not a fan of the art style in Grindstone. But fair enough! Plus with Shovel Knight they're bringing out more dlc content so its probably got longer legs so to speak!
Got it, played it, said to myself this was a 9/10.. didn't cheat and skip the video...at one point I thought you were going to give it an 8. Then without online i thought you were gonna pass it to a 7,So no spoilers here for all others watching it, but enjoyed this review.
how the fuck is this a 9/10 Legit got the true ending in less than two hours and feel absolutely no need to replay it with more characters. Shovel Knight is my favorite indie of all time, and I love roguelites. But this one was really bad imo
Its a Rougelike/lite. You could say that about most of these types of games tbh! Beating the game isn't the only objective. 🤦♂️ plus It's also an arcade puzzler with much depth and replayability. You don't hear people complaining about Puyo Puyo or Candy Crush. Give it a rest!
@@ZamWeazle I personally disagree with some of those statements. First of all, the gameplay is mind-numbingly boring and repetitive. Secondly, I feel absolutely no need to replay the game as other characters, and the knights aren't really that different from each other. Thirdly, yes, you could complete dead cells in like an hour, but more often than not it will take you quite a few tries to do. I managed to achieve the true ending of the game after less than 10 playthroughs. I have over 250 hours in Isaac because every playthrough is not only difficult, but rewarding since the unlockables are actually worth it. Furthermore, most characters have incredibly unique gimmicks that make them stand out from each other (most of the time) Also the multiplayer is an afterthought so you can't really compare it to puyo puyo
@@brunoacuna4540 Fair enough! Tbh I've not played it yet lol It has however got loads of great reviews across the board so it must be doing something right, even if you personally don't like it. I guess as a Rougelike it would probably seem repetitive and shallow compared to Issac/Dead Cells/ Hades etc. But I'm sure to some it's a really decent arcade puzzler. I mean people play Candy crush for years right?
I don't like it. Sorry, I find this game horrible, just as bad as Cadence of Hyrule. It's brutally difficult, the skills you buy aren't permanent, and you can't change the rogue like mode after its been set. Can't believe this game reviewed so well. I love Shovel Knight too, but I'm not gonna blindly praise this bad game just because of the brand.
Shovel Knight is one of the few franchises I will buy absolutely anything from because its always guaranteed to be a well designed blast.
I absolutely agree and think the same thing
Plague Knight was the only bad one
Looks kinda difficult to figure out but definitely not boring. Great review bud.

Shovel knight has shure become a massive franchise over these year's
NL sure knows how to convince me to buy stuff i was gonna pass on. Damn you guys lol
reminds me of crypt of the necro dancer so ill probably buy it cuz this review sold me on it

Incredibly steep pricing for a game that lasts less than two hours to achieve the true ending
Is that like $20?

@@brunoacuna4540 that’s a very reductive way to look at a puzzle game

Would have been sweet to have side scrolling levels also with the puzzle why has no one done that yet
i just started playing this game. it’s fun 👌🏼
Even their puzzle game is difficult. I love these developers.
i’ve been wanting this to come out it looks fun
They are always on genius levels of thinking
Pocket dungeon, a game on systems that dont fit in your pocket
Ironic
nintendo switch lite and cargo pants?
I don't know what you're talking about. My Switch fits in my jeans pocket. I can't sit down with it in there, but it fits.
Was waiting for this one and Dig. Can't wait!
This game is SO good. Way better than I expected. Glad I picked it up!
This game is kind of confusing but so much fun.
‘Dot com’ not ‘dat cawm’ you have said it correct before.

It’s meant to be a play on pocket dimension iirc
i liked the original campaign but haven’t been able to get into any of the follow-ups...
King of Cards was my favorite of the spinoffs, but none are as good as the original.
@@mitwhitgaming7722 I actually like Specter of torment better than the original
I like king of cards better then the original, King Knight is best boy👑
is the incredible zion from Nintendo life, shovel knight pocket dungeon are amazing switch game.
This just makes me want shovel knight dig, not gonna lie
Major Crypt of the Necrodancer vibes
Who cares about this game? I’m just waiting for the highly anticipated Calculator 2 for Nintendo Switch.
I'm more interested in Dictionary than Calculator 2
Any word on performance on switch?
it'll perform well, it has no reason not to lol
It's the final fantasy tactics of shovel knight
Amiibo support?
Umm....how exactly are you supposed to survive this game? Just started and only on stage 2. The difficulty of this game is insane.
Did this replace dig?
No, Dig is still coming sometime in 2022 according to Yacht Club.
