Amazing video. A real treat to watch. But the music.... dude... the 'music'. It sounds like someone threw a bunch of instruments down an 11 minute long flight of stairs.

Well I'm glad to hear that it's free. There's no way I'd pay to listen to that. ;)

Dude that’s the coolest comment I’ve ever read ... You Rock ... I still can’t stop laughing... “an 11 minute long stairwell” yes you petty much just described Jazz in general... I don’t think Howard Hughes wold have pick it to soundtrack the clockwork of his aviation industry... He also dug hot chicks ... Which probably says he didn’t care for jazz either....

My Father-in-Law flew the OH-6, (the flying egg), in Vietnam 1968-69. He supported the Americal Division out of Chu Lai.

We at Hughes AC always worked better, faster and stronger whilst listening to some hip avant garde smoove jazz on the production floor baby. Right on my brother's 👉👊

By Far the best original factory footage shot by Hughes AirCraft themselves.

I love this video. It brings back memories of my late father who retired from the Hughes/McDonald-Douglas/Boeing Helicopter Co. (almost 45 years of service). He was an AP mechanic and Experimental Flight Test Eng. He worked at the Culver City facility, Palomar Airport (Carlsbad, CA), ending in Mesa, AZ facility. The map at the beginning of the video, suggests, that most of the footage was at the Palomar Airport facility, but I'm not sure. The big green building looks very familiar. I remember a similar building at Palomar in the '70's when I was in elementary school.
I was hoping to catch a glimpse of my father in the video, but no luck. Also the cars at the beginning of the video, suggests a time frame before he went to the Palomar facility, form Culver City.
    Thanks for posting the video.

It took longer to build then to get shot down in Vietnam. It was a tough little bird doing an extraordinarily tough mission.

It was called the LOACH for it's role as a Light Observation And Combat Helicopter. Huey pilots called it "Little Bird," despite its lethal firepower and use as the primary "ride" for Cavalry scouts. . .

Not all who flew it were Calvary. My Father-In-Law flew it and was an spotter for the Americal Division.

Nice visuals. HORRIBLE music. I used to work at Hughes Helicopter in CC and it was nice to see the facility. I wish it was still there.

Mar-Vista homes/condominiums has replaced the Hugh's Helicopter/McDonnell Douglas manufacturing site in Culver City, California, Boeing now owns the helicopter company........
