Dwight I should go to sleep, it very late here but watching your paintings I don’t notice the time. This painting looks like a jewel. It’s so stunning. I love the white background. Do you think that the 3 layers has given the effect? Absolutely remarkable 👏💜👏💙👏💜👏💙👏💜👏
So awesome! I have been very down lately but I think, hope when I go in my studio I will stay and paint and not walk out the door feeling bad. Thank you 😊
I have to say that I’ve never liked the dump and swirl technique. Mostly because I have not gotten good results when I’ve tried it. But this painting is stunning! Honestly the best one I’ve seen so far. I may have to try doing the double dump or triple dump as you did. I just found your channel recently and I have just subscribed. Very nice work!
Megan Burbick Thank you very much. I’m learning the trick is the paints and a base coat. It hurts me to do a double or triple dump and swirl, but I get obsessed and thankfully I have left over paints to use...the other trick is having enough paints and the consistency. Good luck!
Dear Dwight 😍Merry Christmas! And may you show us more and. More of your wonderful art in a new year - a Coronafreeyear❤️💚💝. You give us so much joy with your clear and very pleasant vids 😍😂🤓😀 share the joy and knowledge 💖

just found you today so I've been binge watching ... and WOW this is my favorite. I don't mind cells when they are full of color like this. I get sad when the color disappears in the rest of your pours. The heart turned out great in the red though!
Love it. This video you said 1 to 1 paint and floetrol Another video I think you said 2 to one floetrol to paint with drizzle of med. and water as needed. . Is that correct? Is your paint very thin or a bit thicket?
Wow! Beautiful outcome! Today on FB a woman shared what she called a “dump & swirl” citing you as her inspiration. I thought her painting was gorgeous but she was critical, she made it sound like it did not turn out with the proper effect so I wanted to see what it was supposed to look like and I found you here on YT. And since this is my first experience seeing this technique, I have a few questions, please. 1. What is the final effect supposed to be, lacing? 2. What is essential to make this effect work? Does the white paint need to be thinner or thicker than the other colors? 3. Does the top cover color need to be white, or does it work with any color? 4. I realize that you poured a third time because you didn’t like the second, but do you always do two pours? Does doing it twice contribute to the effect? The woman on FB called it a “dump & swirl” but you call it a “double dump & swirl” and now I’m a confused. LOL! And lastly, 5. Why is it called a dump and “swirl”? Where does the swirl come in? OK, that’s all my questions. Thanks for posting the video and for any education you may provide! I’m looking forward to trying my hand at this!
do you have a video from step one, how you mix your paints, and what you use in your puddle. I love your work, did you have any problem with cracking paint? This one was left with a lot of paint on it? Thank you
It’s just artist loft flow acrylic white...floetrol and water...maybe a drizzle of liquitex pouring medium...I just eyeball it...it’s at least equal parts floetrol and paint..
WOW! It that works only with Metalics? Must be a chemical reaction, I wondering if the metallic make that or the US Floetrol in combination with metallics. How does the pearls pops up?
I think it’s consistency and friction...sometimes a slight difference in the consistencies make the cells...you can practice on a small canvas...make a puddle, thinned, then pour other paints on top, slightly thicker...move around until the first puddle is covered...tilt to cover entire canvas...it won’t cell if too much paint is on the canvas and you’ll only get cells around the corners and edges where it’s thinnest
@@dwightpours1261 But has to be with metallics only? I am aware about the difference of the consitencies and the cells, I do Pour for over a year and I know that is more than just mixing paints, it is science and the chemical reactions with paints, binders, water etc. I am just curious about the metallic effect? Do you have to use only metallics for this technique? Thanks
The colors and cells are yummy! Question, when you do the second or in this painting the third pour, is the paint gliding over the paint below it, or pushing it off the canvas? Thanks Dwight.
Good question…I think near the center it’s pushing some of the paint “out” towards the edges….but sometimes it does cover the previous pour…it’s a risk as too much paint on the canvas can ruin composition etc….so, I sometimes will scrape it…
Will do, should be dry by end of tomorrow...if you watch the video I dump the paint, I know, I cringe when I do it more than twice!!! I’ll show results in a couple of days when I do a new one!!
Hi, I wonder if you used a colander to make your puddles then did the dump what would happen. I would try it myself but I am having a hard time getting my paints thin enough. Would you be willing to accept this challenge? I would love to see the results.
I’ve never done a colander pour...I’d have to watch some videos...I might be willing to try the challenge...so are you suggesting instead of a puddle like I’ve done, use a colander then dump the paint on top and swirl?
Really rich and interesting - mermaid scales!!!!
Very cool to watch thanks for sharing 👩🎨👍😁
I am simply gobsmacked 😲
I love this. Trying this today for a fun morning!
Wow. Dwight's. This came out so beautiful. I like the white too. Super pretty.

This one just became my favorite of yours! Time to go mix some metallics 😂

Damn I wish you would have left that blue n gold strip that went through there. That was cool.

Beautiful❣ Has an ocean vibe👍😊 Just wondering if you have canvas sag with the weight of the paint.😊
I really like the gray/silver one!
This is beautiful! Love all the cells!
Beautiful
Wow! That’s a lot of paint! It looks cool!! ❤️🤙🏼

Awesome

A beauty!
Very cool! Can you use DecoArt metallics in the jar as well?
Yes of course!
My first thought was...did all that paint crack while/after drying??
No! Actually I sold it!!
@@dwightpours1261 No doubt-it was beautiful! Am surprised it didn't crack. Wow. Very cool!
Wow, and double wow!!!!!
wow magic and beautifull
how do you prepare your topcoat
which is white
Same as the black, but white can be trickier…I think it has to be a shy thinner then what is normally make it
Bellissimo bellissimo Maria
gorge!!!
Awesomeness 👍
Nice.
WOW
Hi, that's so wonderful,
please tell me how do you mix the white
color and in what proportion? Greetings from Germany / Dresden
It’s just artist loft flow acrylic white...floetrol and water...maybe a drizzle of liquitex pouring medium...I just eyeball it...it’s at least equal parts floetrol and paint..
Thank you so much, ❤
do you take the Australian Floetrol?
American floetrol
Beautiful. Those colors are yummy. So much paint, does it dry ok? I'll be staying tuned for the dried result.
Debra Parker yes it dries great, mostly because I dump it ...I know I’m hoping to not use as much, but works well with left over paint!
WOW! It that works only with Metalics? Must be a chemical reaction, I wondering if the metallic make that or the US Floetrol in combination with metallics. How does the pearls pops up?
Thanks for the heart but I would rather have an answer to my question..... Thanks

AWESOME!!!!!!! Did you add silicone on any of these pours? What brand of white did you use on top of those pours?
No silicone...artist Loft Acrylic Flow White

What is your recipe for the white? You said that the white was thinner than the colors, did you just add more water to make it thinner?
Yes, water is your friend!
روعة ..الخلايا جميله جدا ..
So this one is my favorite that I've seen so far. Totally stunning. How much would this be? Just wondering how much you sell them for. Thanks so much.
Thx...I sold it for $150
@@dwightpours1261 nice. Well worth the price.
Darrick G. Thank you very much!

This is so rich! Did it have any cracks after three layers?🦋
Nope!
Are you torching each time you tilt
Do you alternate opagues and transparent. Do you use all opaque
To be honest….i rarely check the opacity…some paint brands I use are mostly opaque I believe.
@@dwightpours1261 ok I’m having trouble with Arteza paints so the transparent are list. Thank you
Dwight, How do you mix the white? What’s in it?
I mix it the same as the other paints, 1 part paint, 2-3 parts floetrol, drizzle of liquitex pouring medium and water
😀💖
STOP !!;your makin me crazy with that stretching there's nothing left already !
😍😍😍
Three layers of paints? Dont you get cracks when it dries?
Nope! Never had a painting crack except when I used glue as part of the pouring medium.
What recipe do you use for your base??
👏👏👏👏👏👏👌

Yes. Use colander to make the puddle, remove colander and then dump.
Judi Wareham hmmm not too sure how that will work as when I swirl I think any pattern might get swirled away.... it’s worth a try tho
That's the curiosity. 🤔
Oy, I don't know... Lol... I'll have to have left over paints.... I'll definitely be thinking about it!!
