nice vid man! love how you handled putting your sleeve in the tank and went on like nothing happened! glad you like the product I am thinking about it.
🤣 thanks
I use boiling water and simple baking soda to clean silver jewelry. I bet that would work fine on calcium removal. Thanks!
Great Tank! Thanks for a very honest review! I have a 45 P planted shrimp fish tank and have a lot of hair algae outbreaks. The tank is 2 months old, but 75% of the scape, fish and filters are 6 months old (moved from a 24L tank) I'm running UV, CO2, Medium grade lighting, fert and recently added a peltier chiller which has stabilized the temp, because the tank placement temp fluctuates by as much as 2.5 -3.5 F in the past, now within 1/2 degF. Recently dosed with H2O2, two weeks in a row:-) So this product is my last resort and one that I've been avoiding buying b/c I didn't need it:-) So I'll report back,, as I'm still in that new set-up range! Nice review!
Maybe the use of UV could be your problem ... you can use it to treat green water or infections etc... but if you run it all the time you'll have a poor sterilised water the can cause issues to the balance of your tank
What's your long term review?
Take that UV sterilizer out. It can also have an effect on certain components that make up the fertilizer, making those components innert/useless and the fertilizer becomes less effective. Your algae problem is a lighting and fertilizing problem, that you need to fix and a UV sterilizer will not help if the algae rests on tank surfaces
Appreciate the honest review. I'm in the process of starting my first Attempt at a planted tank in a 60P with low tech set up so I feel like $100 would be better spent on adding more plants to help out-compete the algae for nutrients.
For sure👍
Thanks for this review. How often does yours turn on? I just set mine up and have been watching for an hour but it hasn’t turned on yet.
There's 3 settings mine is every 30min
@@jjaquariums thanks for the reply. I have the m5 on setting II but still nothing
@@mattsdmf367 doesn't come on at all?
@@jjaquariums hasn’t come on for me. The light has blinked a few times but no bubbles
@@mattsdmf367 is this a new one or one that has been running
Easy to DIY - Costing only few dollars - Plumbing Pipe to receive the 2 screen made with dollar store cheap strainer and one 12v electric adapter (at least 3 amps output) Put on a timer for only one or two hour a day.
Hi thanks for the vid bro! How do you clean it and how often?
There's a cleaning solution you can buy
@@jjaquariums how often will you clean it?
@@muhammadhadi6391 once you see it's barley coming out
@@jjaquariums noted with thanks bro, appreciate it.
Your tank is gorgeous! 😍
Thanks
Hello, first many thanks for the great and honest review. I'm a noob in the hobby and I have a question for you. Why did you chose this solution rather than a UV lamp sterilizer ? Total cost is pretty close...
Bc then I'm connecting another device to the filter and could slow flow and uv is for green cloud
IT saids that you should run this with tiger than 500 tds and best performance under 400 tds. How much is your tds? Cause your clean time is longger
Tds in all my tanks are 120
How much hour we should on this and what is the best time i mean while lights on or off ??
It runs 24/7
Nice tank, what lights are you using here? I am trying to find the right light source for a 75G high tech tank to carpet HC Cuba or monte carlo.
It's the twinstar 900SP which is a high power light but I will be switching to the ADA solar RGB, not bc the twinstar is bad, it's probably the 2nd or 3rd best light on the market but ada has a little bit better color
@@jjaquariums Can't seem to get the Twinstar 900SP easily in the US and the ADA solar RGB would be close to $2000 for a 75G tank, is there any other light you'd recommend that could carpet plants in a 75G high tech tank?
Your in the United States right?
@@jjaquariums For now I am!
@@thomasmartin8813 ok the other option would be an ONF light, but twinstar you can get pretty easy in the US, you can use aquaforestaquarium.com or buceplant.com or glassaqua.com
Interesting tech device.. so how long do you run it for and during what times of the day cycle?
It runs 24/7, if it turns off you'll reset the device
@@jjaquariums ok makes sense. So can it also replace the air bubbler that turns on at night? And did you notice any effects when using the twinstar along with the CO2 addition during daytime? Thanks
@@didnthurt4077 runs along side co2 just fine and no it won't replace a bubbler the mist is creates is very fine
@@jjaquariums Do you remove the Twinstar out of the tank during maintenance? Does it still give off some electricity even tho its powered down and sticking a hand in the water? Usually theres some leftover current in electric devices even when powered down so thats why im asking ;) Do you just power it down with the sidebutton or do you unplug it? Thanks!
I got electricuted once when i was a child so that experience kina haunts me until today :D
@@didnthurt4077 ya I will turn it off during maintenance
Johnny I picked up the Twinstar Nano plus for my tank after watching your video. Quick question, when your Nano activates and you put your hand near it, do you feel a slight irritation to your fingers? I know this the Nano operates on electrolysis and I want to make sure I'm not hurting my fish. They don't look bothered by it. Thx
No your fine doesn't hurt your fish at all
@@jjaquariums Thx for the quick answer. Do you feel it too? I just want to make sure I don’t have a malfunctioning unit.
I've never put my hand by it before I'm out of town but when I get back I would have to see if it does the same to me
@@jjaquariums Thx appreciate it
A BN pleco is a cheaper option. I have one in all my tanks and they’re spotless
How safe is it for fish? Any risks or things to know? Thank you for the review, very informative!
No harm to fish at all
What does it spew out? co2? air? 6:37 looked like u was about to start showing how it run, then, i didn't see how its powered
Air basically a mine mist bubbles
Good vid!
Can you cycle a tank with it?
No still need to grow bacteria. So dose a bacterial supplement. This will just help keep away strays of algae growth which is very common in new planted tanks
@@jjaquariums Yes - def going to add a supplement to kick start. Just didn't know if it would kill the BB right out of the bottle.
@@colew306 no I won't effect bacteria
Which model is gud for 16 gallon tank
I would do the M5 or you could do the Nano
gud day iam from UAE iam planning to buy twin star nano algea inhibitor nano plus is it ok for 65 ltr tanks becoz its for 250 ltrs . nano for 180 ltr is not available or M3 will work becoz its 50 ltr only M5 is not available in market
Ya that's fine
@@jjaquariums and its operating through app ???
Pls make a video on that also installation complete
No app
@@jjaquariums it will work as per programme in it on and off ??
Will i actually get electrocuted if I put my hand into the aquarium? just curious about it
No
Hi,
Can you use it while co2 is Running ?
Yes
If you any fish that relies on Sonar to navigate e.g. knife fish, these algae inhibitors drive them mad due to the electrical signals.
hey mate, great video. The filter is a bit too extreme though
The oase 600?
@@jjaquariums the colour grading of the video...
...I wish someone timed the functions its annoying. Ive been looking everywhere what are the modes????? I own one and the modes aren't in detail.... so much for for 125 dollars >:[
I think I mentioned in video, but each mode is how often it goes off, the fastest which is the third one is every 15min then it's 30min then 45min
@@jjaquariums thanks. I didn't get a firm answer that's why I was frustrated looking around the internet. But thanks! I dont have a 3rd mode... well I have 3 modes which is "off" then there's "I" and then "II" ... so is "II" third mode?
Jim Carrey Bruce almighty news scene
@@jobertviva2503 ya there's different models but I would put it on last mode you have and leave it
Great video
Thanks
first lol. Great video!
Thanks

Use activated carbon
In my opinion they are useless, i have the biggest one sitting in a box at home, tank is algae free, free to a good home
I would pay shipping if you didn't want it?
Oh man I want one bad! I’ll even pay ya some for it :)
