      Expected the ioniq to win. But again why do none of you guys turn all regen off on ev6 gt and stick maximum power on. It makes a difference. Ev6 GT can get 3.2 seconds 0-60 with multiple examples of this.

    For a better assessment of the true strength of I5N, you guys should take it to the track - it's an EV designed for peak track performance - that's where you'll really see it shine. Stock I5N can do 2 laps of Nurburgring sub-9-10 min without brake or engine overheating and zero powerloss. For comparison, Model 3 P on Nurburgring started to lose braking and significant loss of power (throttled down due to battery pack overheating) after 4-5 minutes (see Misha Charoudin's two videos - night and day difference in the track between the two)

      The M3P they took to the track was the Euro version which is using the inferior LG battery packs. The American version uses the Panasonic battery back that delivers more power and better cooling performance. His brakes going out must have been because they were already cooked or didn't have regen on in track mode, not sure. Either way, I haven't seen an American M3P on the Nurburgring so I'll hold my judgement until then.

    The Ioniq 5 reminds me of the 80s and early 90s. In the movies, there was a style of Futuristic design that was used in Hollywood. This car looks exactly like a Future Car, and I dig the style. Dunno if I could ever consider paying that much money for a small electric hatch, but kinda cool as a novelty.

    Finally a comparison between the EV6 GT and the Ioniq 5 N. The I5N definitely should win, but it was still fairly close. I'm still very happy with my EV6 GT. I like the looks more. It does have some features the I5N doesn't have in the USA like the HUD. And it's been out for 2 years, which means you can get one for a significantly lower price. The EV6 GT refresh is coming later this year too, so it will be interesting to see how the I5N stacks up to that one.

    • @AdrienPierret
      @AdrienPierret Місяць тому +3

      In Germany I can find a gt for 47k vs 65k for i5n so yeah it's a bonkers deal. Deal-breaker for me is losing the ventilated seats and not having adaptive dampers (I think?).
      Also here we have HUD and pano roof on the i5n so very little drawback aside from price. When it comes down to 55k ish it'll be an insane deal.

    • @TechnicallyJeff
      @TechnicallyJeff Місяць тому +7

      @@AdrienPierret The EV6 GT has adaptive dampers. You can adjust it in the settings too. For the ventilated seats, I came from an EV6 Wind and honestly I don't miss them. The alcantara in the EV6 GT doesn't really get hot. It's been 95-105 degrees where I live for the last month and the seats haven't felt hot at all. I've been pleasantly surprised. But yeah, for the price the EV6 GT is hard to beat.

      Still love our EV6 GT to bits, but the 5N party piece is the reason I would switch over which is the engagement factor of the simulated shifting. It’s the reason I also have a modified MK2 Focus ST with the 5 cylinder Volvo engine and manual gearbox. Can’t beat the driver engagement I get in that.

      The remodeled 2025 EV6 will come with a larger battery; the same one found in the 5N. You might want to hold off on the 5N until we see if there's an improvement in the new EV6 GT's performance. I'm personally holding out for the 2025 EV6 GT as I strongly feel if will out perform the 5N in both handling and acceleration.

      @@Lexusupra You deemed the purchase price (MSRP, or more?) acceptable at the time, right? What changed? Is paying full price for an I5N acceptable now? Barely used GTs with warranty are selling for ~$40k, which is closer to 35% depreciation. 20% for the first year and 15% for the next few years is typical for vehicles, so it's reasonable to expect the same to be true of the I5N as well. No money is "lost" unless trading for incremental change, which tends to be a poor value proposition. Paying MSRP for a GT, selling it at a significant loss to pay MSRP for an I5N, selling that at a significant loss to pay MSRP for whatever is next, etc. seems to meet the definition of insanity (for those with limited disposable income, anyway) but certainly creates opportunities for those who are a little more patient. Regardless, enjoy your GT, which is no less awesome than the day you drove it off the lot!

In launch control mode it doesn't do anything but after the hairpin it should.

Which car is "better" overall depends on the owner's objectives and preferences. To the manufacturers and their engineers, I give them all A+'s. They are implementing, with success, the whimsical dreams of some bloviating governmental bureaucrat, owned by the Chinese, who is worrying about a crisis that doesn't exist. I could go on for about as long as it takes to charge an electric car, but...
    Insofar as the general shift to electric cars is concerned, I call bullshit... its a prime example of a centrally planned, government mandated novelty. Why? Batteries and the electrical grid. Presently, there are rolling brownouts merely because people run their home air conditioners! What happens when electric cars are sold in really large numbers? Battery efficiency drops dramatically in cold weather. Just when will we double or triple our generating capacity? I don't see people lining up to have coal-fired or nuclear generating stations built in their backyards. BTW, China has a monopoly on materials for battery production. Let that sink in.
