I've got almost the same Seiko divers in my collection (SPB087 PADI SE and SPB383) and you really have to handle both in person to see just the difference in finishing. I love them both, but the MM200 GMT has just the most Zaratsu-esque polishing I've seen on a non-SLA Seiko. The transitions between polished-brushed-polished on the flanks are just spot on and crisp. It's almost too blingy, especially with the lightplay on the polished ends of the center links on the bracelet. It runs well within COSC in contrast to +15 sec on my 087. A redeeming factor for the PADI is the 44mm case size as it just looks and feels right on the wrist. And I just love the mat aluminum bezel! I'd say that the 08X has more tool watch vibes going for it whereas I've been able to wear the 383 during my summer vacation both at the beach and having fancy dinners alike.
@jodysilvia2 Hey Jody, Happy New Year buddy. All good, just getting my wife through her surgery recovery which is challenging. Wish you and your family a wonderful 2024 👍
Both of those are really nice. I agree that I would probably rather have the GMT. It looks fantastic and high end. My favorite part is the red dot on the seconds hand😂. I’m weird but I love that. If I ever bought and expensive Seiko that would definitely be a consideration. I’m expecting an older 7s36 powered Seiko 5 with a green seconds hand today. I bought it New Year’s Day from Jomoshop. I got it cheap but it looks cool.
I agree it is one of the main reasons I'm not a bigger seiko fan like with these two there are a lot of things that I like about the watches like the case shape and overall size at least these bracelets have solid end links and sapphire crystal too bad you have to spend over $800 with Seiko to get it however you still get push pins and a stamped fold over
The SPB383J1 is awesome, the blue one looks kinda cheap beside it.. while it's certainly a decent watch, the GMT is just a different level - i actually never liked the "Samurai" much - and the blue one has these Samurai hands, and the bezel is too thin, in a way.. well it's just a matter of ones own taste.. the movement runs like a swiss ETA - haha.. terriffic
Both are very nice, for me the blue pops !!!! Going on 3000 subs Ed, well done !!
Thanks to Joe for sending them in.
Yeah hopefully soon be at 3k
I like both. That blue dial on the MM is really nice 👌🏼👌🏼
Yeah I actually lean towards the gmt

Good choice!
Both sweet
The great blue hole…that’s what he said about her….LMFAO
Yeah I laughed at the nickname should've busted it the Beavis and Butthead impression
Patek use push pins. I personally hate the Seiko ones. The collars are way too small. That second MM is gorgeous.
I have not gotten to see a patek yet in person🫤 but that's crazy as expensive as they are
The 6R35 is a pretty disappointing movement. Mine runs at -15s when worn for 24 hours. For the price, I would expect better tolerances.

Wow +25 sucks maybe your guy can regulate it while your have it
I wanted to say thanks Jody for lending those watches in to him to review. They are both great looking watches.
