Thank toy, I just picked up my 7 pro and have installed it with the auto transfer from my 4a. I wanted to know more about the camera and video settings so asked Google and it came up with you. Thank you ! I am really impressed with the phones speed already but being an avid photographer and video maker I needed advice. I am an armature of course. Cheers !

I wish they would add the ring around the front camera hole punch as a timer countdown like on Samsung devices as well as haptic feedback when snapping photos.

What happened to the ability to take rapid shots? Seems like the feature was deleted.

Burst shot? Does anyone actually use that?
Also, those photos always look awful on any device, due to lack of processing.

You just hold the button down and then when you look at the file captured it says "export shots" or similar. They should all be there, correct?

@@AdamHoooot yeah that's a relatively new feature which in a way does the same thing. Good point

It is called "top shot" and it is set to auto, always on, or off. No way to hold shutter to take burst shot

The exposure and shadow slider would be fine. But after you've taken a photo the phone seems to override these settings and over exposes the image with its processing, which makes the sliders pretty redundant 😕

Is the P7P camera bar as easy to scratch as some are reporting? I really need to upgrade from this P6(TERRIBLE connection issues) and Google is the only company that is offering a decent trade in. I would love the P7P but I'm worried the scratches will ruin future trade in value.

Can we get more of these videos for other phones too? It would help more people get better and learn about their devices. Could be a win for some views too.

Some do, cinematic blur, magic eraser, grid lines and such do. Macro doesn't, sense we lack the necessary components for it. (auto focus, etc.)

7 pro has 5x telephoto lens (117 mm equivalent ), so everything from 1x to 5x will use the main lens.

On the Pixel 7 "2" is NOT an optical zoom. Unlike a real camera with a zoom lens, the Pixel 7 just crops what it sees in "1". In other words, "2" is exactly the same as taking a picture in "1" and cropping it in editing software to what you see with the camera set at "2". As a matter of fact, I take all of my Pixel 7 images in "1" and crop them if needed later in Photoshop or Photo Lab. "2" is for users who don't work with photo editing software. If what you're seeing on the screen is real fuzzy, just tap on the screen where you want the camera to focus.

The resolutiuon on the Pixel 7 Pro is shockingly poor. Editing the DNG there is no zoom to speak of. It isn't close to a 4K image. I don't understand why this phone costs this much. Its really kind of junkie. The camera is average and condierably worse than my Sony Pro I from 2020. All shots really look like they were taken with a phone, and one from maybe 2015. I don't understand the cost and appeal of these devices. I hope someone can explain to me why i'm wrong. There must be something I don't know about it. But its reaelly an average device so far. Certainly not worth $1400.00 Cdn.
It doesn't have a headphone jack or allow for a micro SD, so that makes it even cheaper to manufacture. And mostly, like the Pixel 6 Pro, the camera is brutally disapointing. They look digital and are very poor resolution.

I always appreciate a reasoned and useful explanation of why I am wrong. Meanwhile, when I put a video from this on a large screen, it doesn't come close to 50 MP resolution, other than a kind of digitally enhanced image like the Pixel 6 had, whcih I sent back for that reason.
I do in fact need help. Help on how to make this phone seem worth the massive amount of money it costs when its the worst one I have had for several years now.@@chohasheroep385

    • @jamescohen

You don't find it looking digitally sharpened? All photos and videos I have taken are so digitally sharpened it's hard to look at on a big quality screen. On the phone screen they look great. But export one, even RAW to a computer and look at it on a large monitor and see if its not annoyingly digitally sharp as opposed to real clarity from even a much lower MP but proper sensor.@@alannakendallmorgs783
