As always when I play something that happens to be a puzzle game (which this episode is), just be kind for goodness sake. I know angry backseating is a _very easy_ thing to do, but I am challenging you to do the _not easy_ thing, to _not_ do that, because I believe you're capable of it.

Like instead of saying, “YOU IDIOT!! How could you not know the answer?!” we could say, “I know you were struggling to find the answer to this puzzle. It took me a long time to figure it out too! Here is what it is,” would that be fine? XD

@@Retromation so on the second to last one, bump the 6. Vise grip the 6 and 1. Bump one of the 5's. Use the 6 on fury spell, then duplicate the 5, which should return four 5's.
I like how he's asking us to be polite about the puzzles and I'm just staring at it like damn he's doing alot better than I would.
There was only one puzzle I found the answer to that he didn’t, and several others he found the answer to while I was still staring at the screen with a finger up my nose. Lol

This level is definitely really interesting, most puzzle games have a binary state of completion; you either beat the puzzle or you don't. So the fact that you can still progress after getting most of the way through a puzzle is really cool in that it helps the level feel less frustrating, especially combined with the fact that it's forgiving with retries and skips. Also some of the puzzles you did are different from the ones I did, so it seems like there's a decently-sized pool of puzzles it picks from, which should make this episode replayable. Making a replayable puzzle roguelike seems like it would be hard to do, so it's cool that they managed to give a peak of what one could look like in this level!
iirc the puzzle pool is 23 puzzles, where you play through 8 of them per run

I only figured it out right after you hit skip.
I think the solution was Chisel the 4 into a 3 and a 1. Double the 1 to a 2. (3 and a 2 now) Chisel the 2 to get a 1 and a 1. (3 and two 1s now) Use the 1s for the +1 (3 and two 2s) then the two 2s for the plus 1 to get three 3s.

The easiest thing to do is "Enjoying your content as always!" regardless of what happens in the video.
re: the goofiness of the second puzzle - I think that bump and spatula might make more sense if they said "give a new dice with...", to give the same clarity as the "return the dice" moves. If thought of as consuming the first dice to give a new flipped dice, or a dice with value n+1, both of those interactions are a lot clearer.
my brain hurts after using "dice" incorrectly so many times, but that's Dicey Dungeons for ya!
17:07 You were really close with like a fifth of the time it took me! I'm sure someone commented this by the time I got here, but in case anyone wanted to know the solution:
(Steps will be notated as "Action to do [Remaining/Resulting Dice]")
Bump a 5 to a 6. (6, 5)
Chisel the other 5. (6, 4, 1)
Chisel the 4. (6, 3, 1, 1)
Sine Wave the 1s to destroy one of them. (6, 3, 2)
Fury Spell. (3, 2)
Use the last bump on the 2 so fury spell could duplicate the result. (3, 3, 3)
yeah i took me about 5 min to puzzle it out with a pen and paper lol
Thank you, I didn't know that repeat the bump on 2 would get two "3" instead of a "4" before.
for the one at 24:28, I think the solution is:
bump the six
vise grip -> you get two five
bump one of the five
fury spell with the six
duplicate the five.
Nice I didn’t even think of bumping a 5 to a 6.
I was focused on trying to get a 2 somehow LOL
So the + on the fury spell is a trap?
NGL, I was thinking about somehow getting a 4 with some fury, bump shenanigans. LOL.

The way that Fury works isn't "do this item again, with the same dice you used as before". Treat it like "make a copy of the equipment, and put a copy of the dice you used in it". Furying a Bump/Nudge/Spatula/Duplicate/Blender/any dice manipulation is super strong because of this! Yes, it's a mindbending, niche mechanic... but hey, that's Witch, baby
Also: all puzzles are 100% solvable!

i remember in yesterday’s video how someone said that he would have to combine two episodes because of how fast the witch supposedly was
I looked at a lot of other creator's playing this after I was done and they all nope'd out after 5-10 minutes of having issues with the first or second puzzle, maybe they didn't realize that they _skipped_ them in that time instead of completing them.
Absolutely have loved playing this on Mobile and watching you after I attempt the new episodes, it just feels like a fun and shared experience :3
That was very entertaining. Honestly you showed how much you understand the game mechanics to do most of the puzzles, I couldn't even get one haha.

The sax is awesome in this, as all the music has been. Also, I had to laugh at your "3" as the try before I scratched my head and went "will you accept a 2 and a 1 ma'am?" But I think your 3 was better 😂
Robot was my personal favorite of the new batch, so I can't wait for tomorrow :)

I like how Lady Luck goes from "my favourite little contestant" to "perish." the moment the Witch says she has fans of her own
I knew this will be fun one. Second riddle initially got me in the same trap, interaction with furry is interesting. Fourth was kinda hilarious, so close for Retro, he found secret behind answer (ones in sine wave) and even commented it would be cool. Fifth the blind I didn't meet during in my game, but finding what dice is was huge step, only small step of noticing that 3 is fine for the result and the one should be doubled and then chiseled was left. On the almost last, i realized how to do it just before reto said it and then he didn't go with that, thinking it was impossible (bump six, vise grip, bump five, six into fury, double dupe five should give four fives). Shame the vanish one didn't show, that was the most difficult for me and hoped I will see if it will be equally hard for Retro. Honestly with three retries even if I didn't see how exactly something works on the first look, using one or two to experiment gave me all info needed, so it was quite an interesting mind teaser.

Reto: I'm not good at puzzles, please don't judge me! *Gets confused by normal mechanics of the base game*
Remind me of Dr.Boom puzzles of Hearthstone, it was the best minigame.
The solution to blind die puzzle was:
-Chisel the blind 4 (only thing you can do at the start)
-(You have a 3 and a 1) Doppeldice the 1 to get a 2
-(You have a 3 and a 2) Chisel the 2 to get two ones
-(You have a 3 and two 1s) Sine wave the ones until they become 3s.
-Combined with the 3 from before, you now have three 3s and have used all equipment
I'm just confused as to why the dice was blinded since it just makes the puzzle more tedious by making you waste attempts trying to deduce its number
Honestly i found the blind idea to be fun. Part of the challenge is knowing wth even IS the puzzle
It's blinded because that's the puzzle - finding out what the dice values are! If you could see the dice value, it'd be trivial.
@@jackeea_ I guess that's true, but the puzzle can only be solved without stumbling into the solution because of the retry system, which just sounds a bit weird from a game design perspective
Did I misremember, or was the witch able to throw dice at enemies as well? I feel like that was a thing, though I'm not sure if it carries through the DLC skill change.
At any rate, I'm really surprised how quickly you figure some of these out, while I sit here with smooth brain. Love this series, glad to see you playing it again!
Normal witch can throw dice, yeah... and, uh... has a spellbook... or literally any other Witch mechanics.

ok so about the bump vs spatula fury thing,
instead of thinking about the text of the function, think about how it actual functions.
so with bump it isn't just adding a value to 6, it's input: 6 -> output: 6 and 1, thus when repeated will make 2 pairs of 6 and 1.
while spatula is input: 6 -> output: 1, so when repeated it will produce only 2 ones.
thought of answer for skipped puzzle on your attempt befor reroll: chizle gets 3 and 1 dubble 1 3 and 2 chisle 2 3 1 and 1 twine 1s twice you get 3 3 3
“Repeat the next action”
Mrs. Evil Gameshow Host ma’am, I do not believe you understand that phrase correctly.
Flipping a die 2 times would simply end up with you on the same number as which you started. I didn’t know “repeat the next action” really meant, “summon an additional die from the Twisting Nether equal in value to the value of the original die used for this function and then repeat the function with this new die.” LOL
Well I guess we know that mechanic for the future puzzles now.
Don't think of Spatula as "flip this dice upside down", think of it as "Get a new dice whose value is equal to this dice flipped upside down". That's how every dice manipulator works! Otherwise, this would make Fury vastly underpowered, since you'd have to consume the dice that the game gives you after using something like Spatula.
Howdy! In the 3:45 puzzle it appears your were assuming that the repeat action would take the action of a die modified by the action taken, instead of taking the action of the die you put in twice.
Example, you put a six in the Bump +1. It bumped a 6 twice and you ended up with 6, 1, 6, 1. Likewise, when you figured out to put the 6 into the spatula after fury, it seems like your logic was thinking "It will flip the 6 into a 1, then it will take that 1 and flip it into a six." However, fury repeats the action TWICE. By putting a 6 into spatula, it did a "Spatula 6, flipped into a 1" and gave you a 1, then it did "Spatula 6, flipped into a 1" and gave you a 1.

I’m posting this in the middle but I think I got one puzzle:bump 6 duplicate 1 bump 1 put 2 into Furry Spell+ then vise grip the 6 and 1

Ugh, for the second puzzle, I also kept ending up with an extra 6!

24:48 I'm genuenly starting to think that this one is impossible. No matter what I do I'm always 1 five short or still have an action left. If the bump wasn't upgraded or the duplicate was upgraded, it would work, I'm so stumped

I think the trickiest part might be understanding how Duplicate works with Fury. Since Fury repeats an exact copy of the action, therefore the input dice are completely new dice that mimic the original input. So instead of giving you 3 fives, you're given the original 5, a duplicated 5, a copy of the original 5, and a duplicated copy of the original 5.

you know, using all masterminds should already be a solution, whether an equipment is unused or a dice is kept. I don't know why they'd design to punish you for being efficient, that seems like bad game design to me
It's a puzzle , the goal is to use all tye die AND equipment. There isn't no such thing as being too efficient in this case
The puzzle isn't "do damage as efficiently as possible", it's "do damage in a specific way with the constraint that you have to use all equipment"!
